Introduction
Employability skills are defined as transferable skills which help candidates to make
them employable by representing various types of knowledge like communication as
well as technical abilities in the organization. It is essential for the corporation to
increase its efficiency and performance in the market (Gravells, 2010). GE is an oil and
gas company which provides petroleum products to its consumers in the United
Kingdom. The present report measures the responsibilities and performance of staff
members of the organization. Further, it defines work based problems in the
corporation. Along with this, current study defines various types of time management
strategies for employees in the GE enterprise. It also describes dynamics of working
with other staff members in the organization. In addition to this, this represents
appropriate solutions and strategies which help to reduce work based problems in the
GE Corporation.

1.1 Developing a set of your own responsibilities and performance objectives for the
next three years as a Human Resource Coordinator in GE
As Human resource coordinator, I have many responsibilities to improve
performance and efficiency of GE in the market.
Performance objectives

well as nature which will take at least three years in the organization.
ï‚· To identity my self-improvement areas by analyzing work of my superiors in the

can aid me to manage proper human resource operations in the organization.

My effectiveness against defined objectives is appropriate in the GE but I have to
apply proper efforts to improve my skills more in the firm.
l My knowledge is good and effective in human resource field but it requires
some improvement to reach excellent level in the firm. To improve my
knowledge, I can take opinion of my seniors in GE which can help me to

Strength
l I have good communication skills which help me to communicate
effectively with my subordinates and seniors in GE.
l My knowledge in human resource area is also good which contributes an
effective role for me to manage HR operations in an appropriate manner.
Weaknesses
l Sometimes, I delay my work during heavy work load conditions due to lack
of time management skills.
l I often feel complexities to take critical decision for the company in
adverse conditions due to lack of decision making capabilities.
Opportunities / Threats ( Out side)
By comparing all of the strengths and weaknesses ( within us ) to the opportunities and
threats ( outside) we are able to analyse the areas we need to improve to achieve our
objectives.
Recommendations
l I should follow proper time management techniques which can help me to
reduce my work delays in the organization. In addition this, it can
contribute an effective role for me to meet out performance objectives and
responsibilities by following scheduling technique of time management at
the work place (Hind and Moss, 2005).
l I should take opinions and monitor my seniors as well as managers to
improve my decision making capabilities which can help me to complete
my roles, responsibilities and objectives effectively in the GE organization.

1.4 Applying motivational techniques
There are many motivational techniques for GE organization which can help to
increase its performance in the market.
Maslow motivation theory: Management of GE can use Maslow motivation theory
which can help to motivate to their employees in an appropriate manner. As per the
theory, human resource manager of the organization needs to fulfil the needs of
employees such as psychological, safety, belongingness, esteem as well as self-
actualization (Humphris, 2013). According to this, HR department of GE can provide
better salary, work safety, incentives, better roles and responsibilities, high status,
training as well as better opportunity to its staff members. This process can effectively
help the organization to increase motivation level of their employees which can also
help to enhance the performance of business in oil and gas industry.
Cognitive theory: Organization can also use cognitive theory to increase motivation
level among the employees. Further, Cognitive theory is divided into external and
internal parts. GE can provide external benefits like better salary, promotion, medical
insurance and incentives to employees which can help them to motivate externally
(Jetmore, 2005). In addition to this, management of GE can use internal motivation
techniques in which they can provide non-monetary financial awards and proper respect
to their employees. These things contribute an effective role for staff members to
motivate internally as well as externally.

As human resource consultant, I will analyse proper problems to complete my
responsibilities and objectives in the GE. Then after, I will collect information from many
sources like employees Further, I will also determine different issues in a proper
manner. In the next step, I will take proper initiative to solve problem by finding out
various alternatives. For this, I can use brain storming process among the staff
members of GE to evaluate alternatives in an appropriate manner. Then after I will
make my decision on the basis of advantages and disadvantages by analysing each
factor in the organization (Lawler and Boudreau, 2009). I will design performance
objective on the base of organizational issues at work place. In the next step, I will
implement my plan with help of my staff members and other resources in the GE. In
addition to this, I evaluate my plan by taking feedback of my employees in the firm.
Further, I will also check results on the basis of present and future outcomes in the
