INTRODUCTION
Employability and academic skills are the building blocks of the individual career. The
media frequently run stories on how these skills are lacking in school in school leavers, graduates
and or those already in employment. Employability is the form of development areas where
individual can enhance the effective working performance in order to meet out the individual
needs and wants. Present study based on Academic and employability skills that must be
developed in the future to gain credibility in search of employment opportunities within health
and social care. For that, study will be taking the NHS which is the publicly funded national
health care system for England. However, report will be going to present the analysis of relevant
employability skill that should individual have or need to be have in order to gain future
opportunities as well.
MAIN BODY
Analysis of relevant employability skills that, you have or need to be have in the future
employment opportunities within health and social care.
To identify the employability skill is the one of the most vulnerable policy tool to
upgrade mobility and earnings. Employees of the organisation should required to enhance their
potential powers within the organisation goals or to maintained their competency level within the
organisation. As per the Bovey-Pilkington and Pidgeon, (2018) Human resource is the key asset
and crucial element of organisational success which is necessary for development for an overall
level. In present days, Company or big organisations finance huge investment on training and
development of the employees in order to enhance the employer skill and abilities.
Employability skills are identified to posses the knowledge and upgrade the individual
opportunity for the future. Therefore, skills has to be adopt or to learn for maintaining the level
of performance.
As per the Collet, Hine and du Plessis, (2015) Health care industry is the most booming
sector in across the world, technology, innovation, new research on medicines has been given
achievements for the further growth. Individual have some set of skills in order to sustained in
the company and generate profit for the entity as well. Individual should have the team work
skills in order to work as a team. Teamwork is indispensable in the provision of health care, In
Health care sector, where patients and individuals are totally dependent upon the support level of

their attending. That is most important for the NHS, Co-operative and collaborative teamwork is
very much necessary in health care industry to maintained the proper coordination between
teammates. I have a very good skills of team leader that might help me in my future profession.
Working in group shows that individual belongs and comes from different culture, attitude,
values, skills set and customs. So these attributes of a team affect the requirements in the
organisation.
As per the De Castro and et.al., (2017) few things are very necessary while with the part
of Health care programme is flexibility to adapt change, interpersonal skills, sharing knowledge,
credit sharing, mutual supports etc. This individual skills helps people to meet out the company
expectations.
NHS adopts various practices such as High fidelity stimulation to enhance the individual
training development needs. Importance of employability skills in health and social care sector is
that to reduce error in working, trauma care and operating rooms as well.
According to author George and Munshi, (2016) critical thinking & solving skill is the
another most important employability skill that should individual have to approach future
opportunity and goals. This can help to reduce the chances of loss of life. Critical thinking
increases the possibilities of new innovative ideas and creations that helps to keep maintained the
proper environment within health care sector where employees should need to tackle different
critical cases on their daily basis. I have quality of critical thinking thinking that might be helpful
for the company to analyse new ideas to treat the patient health.
Gledson and Dawson, (2017) Being a nurse in the National Health social sector, I should
have some set of employability skills to perform my job in a productive manner. Or in terms of
employer or the company they also looking for a high professional development staff that helps
to enhance the company position as well. In order to fulfil the task. I should considered some of
the skill set, such as Clinical skill which is necessary fro the nursing area. Some of the skills are
Advanced cardiac life support, hospital experience, critical care nursing, Acute Care, Treatment
planning, Telemetry, Case management, Patient/family education.
Non Clinical nursing skills are also very necessary to implement the better
communication skills and effective management task. Effective communication is the most
important skills that should have in the employee. For nurses, where they play a role of
middleman, It is required for the individual to have good relation with patients and their families

to understand their issues. I have a good communication skills that is why I have good
connections and networking with my group. Therefore, this employability skills help me in my
career to get new opportunities and growth. This skill also help me for maintained the better
connection with the doctors, fellows and other health care professional which is necessary to
have. Flexibility is the another non clinical nursing skill that is important to get success in the
professions because employer or an organisation has always looking for a particular candidate
who adopt all changes and keep sustain in the uncertain environment as well.
According to Harris and King, (2015) attention to detail is also one of the important skill
that individual should have that I should also have which is attention to details. In other words,
paying attention towards the work whatever individual perform at a certain time period. It is very
essential for a nurse to pay attention towards the company structure in order to meet out the
needs and goals for the effective management task. Nurse play a supportive role for the patient
that should understand the the level of effective performance and goals.
I need to develop my some of the skills that helps me to make my career more bright in
the nursing profession. It will help me to get my future certain goals and objectives as well.
Employability is the another very tough challenge to perform as per the need and wants of
organisation. Without having productive employability skills, individual person does not get the
progress in rewarding the jobs.
Hayes and et.al., 2016 Another most required skill that should have in nurses that is Alert
and Observant. Health care sector deals with critical situations where they need a person who can
handle the situation emergencies or traumatic events. Nurses are the most important individuals
for the health care sector which always support and handle the situation in the absence of nurses.
In order to that, I should gain some new skills and abilities that helps me to advantage
new career opportunities in my career profession. Health care sector is the most essential and
challenging industry that has to adopt some potential employees who manage their issues in an
appropriate manner. As per my observation I should learn some new organisational skills that
helps me to to face multiple patients and solve their queries. I have to be organised and knowing
my own prioritise that helps me to make choices in future as well. To be very patience is very
vital for a nurse, it keeps environment under control (Paediatric Nurse Job Description. 2019).
Nurses should also have the level of good compassion to take initiatives towards the betterment
of the company. I have that skills to support people and understand their needs and wants which

is very essential in the profession career. I can support people in the situation of pain, trauma,
and tragedy. On the other hand, Nurses should also know about their work ethics, so that they
never did some wrongful things. People should know what should be done and what should not
be done in the whole career. This skill must be done accordingly in a good manner.

through person get entered into their professional path. Besides, employability skills support
academic skill in order to nourish them in a proper manner.
The main purpose or role of Nurse is to maintained the good healthy environment around
patient. Taking care about the timing of medicines given to patient, build healthy relation with
patient and their family. On the other side, nurses is the individual who always near around
patient and their family members (Potts, 2017). For that, they must be loyal and faithful towards
them or the company as well. This skill or work ethics I need to learn to nourish my career
opportunity more better and enhancing. Moreover, employability skill is very must to take career
more better and presenting. It will help individual to get new set of skills and get more
opportunity in the future.
Due to lack of insufficient knowledge and skills, person cannot get good environment of
work in the company. It gives negative impact on the career of individual as well. To being a
great professional people need to invest a lot and always keep updated itself. For that, I need to
maintained mu knowledge more appropriate and effective to get the attraction of employer. Also
I have to be a good leader to accomplished my own goals and company goals as well. My future
opportunities helps me to know what I actually need to do. Otherwise it get converted into
challenges (Pusey-Murray, Daly and Stewart, 2018).

Seeking to get the best employee for the organisation is the tough process for the
recruiter. They ensure about that they have choosing potential staff or members who enough
capable to perform a particular job. Recruitment is the best way to develop the effective
management task in order to meet out the best of recruitment process in order to meet out the
company expectations. HR manager always looking for a candidate who well know about their
work ethics and all the drills to perform a Health care programme. Health care sector follows a
critical procedure to perform a recruitment process. In health care sector, NHS recruit person on

duty into more appropriate manner and growth (Simatele, 2015).
Health care sector is the most promising industry as compare to other industry which is
necessary to grow in frequent manner. Ongoing changes and advancement in the world of
healthcare needs new transformation to work industry more better and enhancing.
Recruitment process given huge platform to offer great solution in order to make strong
employer brand (Taylor, 2016). NHS recruit person on the basis of their level of qualification,
number of certificates and their other achievements in the life. Besides, Recruiter also expecting
some new skills and knowledge that can help to company in future development. In present high
level of competition. Health care sector recruit those candidates who are highly passionate and
dedicates person who know time management skills, conflict management skills, knowledge of
specified area, interpersonal skills, conceptual knowledge, enough confident to solve critical
situation, leadership skills, supportive. Etc. because being a nurse they need to have all
mentioned skills to tackle the different behaviour of patient (Wolff and Booth, 2017).
CONCLUSION
As per the report it has been summarised the importance of academic skills and
employability skills required to work in the Health & social sector. Academic skills help
individual to get into the specific career. Besides, employability skills helps to keep maintained
that professional career ahead in the future. Employability skills support academic skills in any
situation. Study has been concluded different academic and employability skills of nurse that
helps to enhance the work quality up gradation into the best possible manner. Study analysis the
literature review and presenting the some necessary terminologies. Overall, report helps to
analyse the recruitment process of the company in order to meet out the best growing result and
effective working outcomes.
