INTRODUCTION
Employability is the term which refers to one's ability to gain, maintain employments and
getting new employment if company feels the requirement of some skilled individuals (Blom and
Saeki 2011). The term employability has meaning as having a complete set of knowledge, skills
understanding and personal attributes that an individual will choose and save occupation in
which they will feel satisfied and successful. The employability in very simple way is defined as
an ability of being competent of having and doing work. A person's employability depends on
several things as first, knowledge as what they are knowing, second, skills as what they will do
with his knowledge and last one is person's attitude as how they will approach things. This
assignment is based on TESCO which is a British multinational retailer that provides grocery and
have headquarter in England. This assignment has covers the explanation and purpose of job
description and person specifications along with it has a CV for particular job role and also have
two competencies with statement.
TASK 1
1. The purpose of job description
Job description is a general document in which tasks, responsibilities and duties are
explained for the particular job. It is a general, broad and statements which comes in written and
has base on the findings or result of a job analysis. The job description involves some duties
scopes, purpose and work conditions of the work also involves the title of the job. This
description of job also states the name of the person to whom an employee needs to report. In
simple terms, description of job includes its related data which found as useful in order to give in
advertisements for specific work it helps in attract larger number of talent the process of job
description has also involve the intelligence, memory, leadership skills, value and ethics,
creativity and manners (Cottrell 2015). TESCO is a grocery chain they are running with many
stores hence if they recruit new person for some work then they needs to explain the job which is
comes in job description process. There are some purpose for job description they are as:
Purpose of job description in context with TESCO
The major and prominent purpose is to collect complete concerned data which has
relation with job in order to give information in advertisements for certain job role. It

facilitates in attracting, targeting outer world, recruiting and selecting the most
appropriate person for suitable job.
It gives clarification to the new person to whom they need to report.
This also facilitates recruiting member a clear image that what kind of person they are
required in the company.
2. The purpose of person specification
Personal specification explained as it is an individual’s own attributes, desired that a
company sees in his potential worker. This is more specify then job description. This includes
the qualifications, knowledge, skills and experiences. Along with this personal attributes which a
person needs to show in order to perform job or duty. The person specification comes from job
description and give helps in foundation of recruitment process. This is also goods for helping
the future candidates cause by this they will understand the requirements of the job and choose
accordingly (Green 2011). This is the main and important documents in selection and
recruitment process. This process or person specification permit the recruiters to make
comparison of the each candidates with requirements of the job. In TESCO there are some
purpose of person specification and they describe as:
Purpose
It gives chance to job seekers that they will found themselves able to examine own skills
before applying for the job and make them understand that how will they be able to fit in
required role in organisation. It permits them to match their skills and attributes and
ability with business suitability.
It helps in making interview more refines and easier than ever.
This also clarifies the two types of qualification that are important to employer as
essential and desirable. Hence employer will be able to make difference in what they
wished and how a person can be matched with this criteria.
It also helps in speared the equal opportunity within the recruitment area of the business.

opportunity to lean how to perform task together and the importance of it is vital which
facilitates the organisation success. Some of significance are:

employees.

cause they understand other's situation and working efficiency.
HR skills- Team working helps in nourishing the skills of HR cause they are the core
person who are responsible for all these activities in human resource department in the
organisation.

Problem solving – This is the other competence in employability. HR manager need to be
sufficient in giving solution of problem ( Blom and Saeki 2011). TESCO will seeks out for
manager's profile those person who are most capable in problem solving cause human resource
manager will face some hurdle at workplace hence they needs to be more relaxed person to bear
it all in organisation. Effective problem solving helps employees to examine the problems,
identify the reasons, assess the impact and seeking out the alternative solution to resolve the
issues (Wilton 2011). Every manager of organisation use a process of problem solving to give
better decision.
CONCLUSION
From the above assignment it has been concluded as the employability is a set of some
skills that made a person more capable to gain job in an organisation and that skill force them to
do good and productive. In this assignment some lights are given on the purpose of two elements
recruitment and selection process which is job description and person specification. On the other
side this assignment has been draw a CV for a some particular job role that can fill up the vacant
position in organisation or for a employer are seeking out. Some of the competencies are there
which are required for getting work and employable also assignments throw some lights on
capacities of an individual and gives full coverages on its statement.
