INTRODUCTION
Employability skills can be describe as the skills which is need by individual in
order to successfully perform different organisational practices (Clarke, 2018). These
types of skills are transferable skills which enhance personal capability and ability to
carry our task in more effective and efficient manner. It is essential that employees have
these skills as it will lead to increase the chances of person to get selected for the
desired job role. In this report different article about employability skills has been
determined. Through these articles information can be regarding employability and
importance of employability skills for successfully performing task has been determined.

for an individual to clearly understand employability skills as this is essential for
conducting job task in different sector as well as gain better opportunities. According to
this article, employability skills can be describe as the skills which are important for
employees to successfully perform task as well as increase capability to attain more
opportunities. It has been determined that employees are majorly looking for more skills
which are beyond qualification and experiences (Employability Skills: The Skills You
Need to Get a Job, 2020). Employability skills are also consider as soft skills which are
essential for making an individual employable. It has been determined that employability
skills are significant for individual in order to get along with other co workers in order to

successfully attain desired goals. Importance of employability skills for individual is

 Effectively working with others – There are various skills such as
communication, emotional intelligence, team working and other employability
skills that are crucial for correctly working with other employees of organisation.
These skills are very important as it increases capability of individual to correctly
work with other and able to develop strong relationship in order to successfully
perform task. Employability skills are required in order to satisfy customers as
well as meet with the expectation of organisation. (Jackson, 2015)
 Being dependable and reliable – Employability skills not only increase the
capability or potential of individual while performing task but it will also lead to
being more reliable and dependable in organisation. This will lead to increase
trustworthiness and conscientious of individual so that they can guide and direct
other employees in more correct way. It is essential for enhancing potential for
employees to take responsibilities of their own actions and provide full values
while conducting business task.
 Willing to learn more – Employability skills are considered to be important for
individual as it lead to enhance willingness of a person to learn in order to
increase performance. Due to development of employability skills a person is
more open to new ideas and experiences as well as focusing on enhancing
knowledge and skills. Due to this personal development practices can be carry
out in more formal and systematic manner. (Tomlinson, 2017)

which are essential for an individual to successfully perform task. I have analysed that
there are various skills which will help in getting job when a person graduate. It is
essential to analyse and evaluate the skills which are required by recruiter when they
are looking for graduate employee. Different employability skills are mention below -
 Communication – This skill will include verbal and non verbal way of
communication with others. This skill assist in conveying clear and concise
message to others so that listener can easily understand the meaning and
response accurately (WHAT ARE THE TOP 10 SKILLS THAT'LL GET YOU A
JOB WHEN YOU GRADUATE?, 2020). Proper and effective communication will
lead to correctly conveying ideas to other and reduce confusion.
 Team work – This skills help employee in being good team play in order to attain
team goals. Employees team working skills are supportive in delegating and
managing task along with this take responsibility for successful completion of
task. Recruiters are looking for team work skills in employees as it enhance
working culture of organisation and effective coordination in a team. (Williams
and et.al., 2016)
 Problem solving – It refer as skills or capabilities of individual that will lead to
provide creative and innovative solutions to the problems of other or business.
Problem solving skills are considered by recruiter while hiring graduate as this
skill will provide different angles to problems and new approach to resolve

be effective learning experiences. Part time job will lead to increase potential of a

de-motivated because of less working opportunities. There are some positive aspects
that could be consider by individual in order to gain more working opportunities and
enhance employability capabilities are mention below -

they can take online course. There are various websites which provide different
types of short online courses. These courses are significant for gaining more
knowledge as well as developing potential to successfully conduct task. Short
online course will lead to increase the value of CV and help in improving chances
of selection. (Nelissen, Forrier and Verbruggen, 2017) Pick up hobby – Every individual have some hobbies and these hobbies are
avoided due to lack of time in our daily routine. Due to lock down individual have
more time and they have opportunity to pursue their hobbies (7 ways to improve
graduate employability in lockdown, 2020). This will be perfect opportunity for
individual to participate in their hobbies such as learning coding language, novel,
cooking, photography and many more. It will help in increase skills and
capabilities of individuals and improve the chances of employability.
 Learn new language – It is an opportunities to learn new and different language
during lock down time. A person have lots of time to learn language and
increase ability to communicate in more languages will support in increase job
opportunities. Mastering of languages such as Spanish, French, German,
Portuguese etc. will help in garbing more opportunities.

By attaining workshops a person will be able to develop professional networks with
expertise of different field.
Analysis of own employability skills
I have analysed that employability skills are very important and these skills will
lead to have significant impact on my performance and potential. It is essential for me to
identify different skills and capabilities which are my strength and weakness as it will
lead to identify the area of development. I have determined that my major strength for
employability skills are communication problems solving and organisational skills. Due
to these skills I am able to effectively conduct task as well as increase my potential to

successfully attain goals. I have determined that my communication skills are very
strong and these skills help me in conveying my message to other in clear and correct
way. Communication skill will lead to develop relationship with other co workers in
company. Due to problem solving skills I am able to resolve the issues or problems of
other or business in more effective way. Through this skill I am able to develop strong
image in organisation. I have organisational skills which will help me in managing
different task in correct and accurate manner. Strong organisational skill will lead to
increase more job opportunities for my career growth and development. Through this I
have analysed that I am lacking in time management skills as I am not able to complete
task in set time frame. (Veld, Semeijn and van Vuuren, 2015)
CONCLUSION
From the above report it have been analysed that employability skills are
essential as it will lead to increase the job opportunities for individual. This includes
communication skills team work, leadership, problem solving and many more. It is
important for individual to analyse their employability skills as well as develop skills
which are lacking in order to attain personal and professional goals. There are different
ways which will help a person to develop employability skills in order to effectively
perform business task as well as meet with the expectation of business.
