Introduction
This report is prepared to present the analysis of different skills which are required for further
development of the individual to work within the hotel and hospitality industry. This report will
present the SWOT analysis as well as the PDP to identify the skills as well as the weaknesses.
Further, these skills will be analyzed to find employment in the future. Overall this report will
highlight the employability skills which are required to work in the hospitality industry.

that he has. This is considered as the reflection of what is to be achieved and what skills are
desired to be achieved to appraise the strengths to become an effective employee of the
organization. Hence for this purpose, the skills that are weak and have to be enhanced are
included in the PDP plan. The time frame is decided for the purpose in which the plan has to
achieve. So the plan is described in the table below:

other skills through implementing my professional development plan. To be able to get a job in
the hotel or hospitality industry, there is need of developing some important skills which are
communication skills, time management skills, teamwork skills, technical skills as well as the
leadership skills. I am intended to use these skills to get better employment in the hotel and
hospitality industry.
Good communication skills can prove to be effective for me as while working within the
hospitality industry, there is a need for an individual to have a polite way of talking and good
interactive skills. It helps in attracting more and more visitors. Hospitality also includes greeting

visitors in a good manner. The good communications skills will help me in attracting visitors to
stay in our hotel.
There is also a need for time management skills while working within the hospitality industry.
There should not be any delay in proving the services to the customers. Getting delayed in
providing the services to customers may harm the reputation of the hospitality industry. I have
good time management skills and I am good at managing my work on time which will surely be
helpful for me to get the job in the hospitality industry (Suleman, 2016).
The other skill is technical skills. To work in the hotel or hospitality industry, it is necessary for
an individual to have some technical knowledge to keep and maintain the data in the computer
systems in an effective manner. I have identified the lack of such skills so there is a need for
making certain numbers of the improvements in myself and develop such skills. I can opt for any
of the technical courses to gain such skills and be able to get a good job in the hospitality
industry.
While working in the hospitality industry, it is very important to have the team working skills
because there is a need for working with the whole team of the hotel. Such skills help in
managing the work on time and effectively to achieve the common goal of such company. I need
to develop such skills so that I can be able to have such employability skill to get the job in the
hospitality industry. This skill will also be helpful for me in the development of my leadership
skills. I will be able to lead so many people and will be able to motivate them to work hard to be
successful and increase the profitability of the company (Simpson, et. al., 2017).
After conducting the SWOT analysis I got to know about my weaknesses as well as the
strengths. I have also prepared the PDP to make improvements in my weaknesses. Such skills
which I am going to develop are the employability skills which are highly essential to get
employment in the hospitality industry. I will utilize all these skills while working with such a
company to ensure a successful career option.
It is not an easy task in this competitive market to find employment in the most grooming sector
which is the hospitality industry. But with the help of these skills, I will be able to get the job in
such an industry and groom myself to be a professional (Messum, et. al., 2017).

Conclusion
This report has provided the details regarding my strengths as well as the weaknesses. I got to
know what the main areas are where I need to make improvements. Further, there has also been
prepared the professional development plan to be able to possess the skills which are required to
be there in an individual to get a job in the hospitality industry. This report has concluded that
communication skills, technical skills, time management skills as well as problem-solving skills
are very essential to have employment in any industry. The hospitality industry requires hiring
such individuals who possess all these skills. I have made plans to develop all these skills to get a
job in such an industry.
