INTRODUCTION
In every business organization, employees play a very crucial role in order to attain
desired success and results. Every business enterprise desires skilled and qualified employees so
as it can develop competitive advantage in the market. Business enterprise requires to recruit
such skilled personnel’s through which it can make effective production and profitability. Every
individual have their own skills, talent, ability and knowledge which make them distinctive from
other (Mikolajczyk and Schmid, 2005). The following project report has provided a depth
knowledge and understanding about employees skill, talent and role in the organization through
which form can attain desired success. In addition to this various motivational techniques which
improve employees performance has been also discussed in this report. Furthermore, a
systematic process for solving work based problem and strategies for time management has been
studied in this report. At the end part of the report defined team dynamic and methods for
developing solution to problem in the organization.
TASK 1
1.1 Develop a set of won responsibility and performance objective
Employability skill is very essential foe every employees through which they can attain
desired objective of organization. People should use various methods and criteria for improving
their personality and professionals. Employees play a very essential role in the organization
through which it can attain desired success within a time period. In the absence of skilled
employees firm can not survive its business functions and activities. The entire process of
business and activities of Hilton hotel is largely depends upon the employees performance. The
major objective of Hilton hotel is to earn maximum profitability and market share along with
deliver high quality customer services (Koziolek, 2010). For this purpose, all employees have
responsibility to give their best contribution and make business operation effective and
successful.
Being an HR manager in the Hilton hotel I have various roles and responsibility toward
organization. Hilton hotel have major objective is to deliver effective customer satisfaction and
earn maximum profit ability and market share in the UK. Cited venture aim is to render high
quality of services to customer and again strong brand image in the market. For this objective, as
a HR manager I have responsibility to manage the business activities and function in such
manner as I can effectively gain effective outcomes (Chun and et.al., 2013). Employees are very
essential part for business growth so as a HR manager I have responsibility to identify the issue
and requirement of personnel related to working and make them satisfy at workplace. I have
another responsibility to motivate and encourage employees for higher performance and
productivity. In this manner, I can provide monetary and non monetary rewards to them and

appreciate their performance in the organization. In the Hilton hotel, customer or guest are very
important part so I have also some responsibility toward them. I am liable to improve the quality
of customer service by effective monitoring of employees performance and provide effective
environment by maintain healthy relationship with them.
1.2Evaluation of own effectiveness against defined goal
In the Hilton hotel , as a HR manager I have various roles and responsibility so as I can
develop effective working environment and manage employees in an appropriate manner. Cited
venture main objective is to provide high quality of services to customer and earn maximum
profitability and market share. For this objective, I have responsibility to organize training
programs so as employees can learn the criteria of effective working. In this manner, my
analytical skill can assist me through which I can identify the requirement of improvement in the
employees. In order to motivate and encourage employees, my effective communication skill can
aid me through which I can share my idea and inspirational thought with personnel. Being a HR
manager of cited venture I have responsibility to maintain healthy relationship with employees.
In this manner, my communication skill will also assist me (McCoy and et.al., 2012). This will
assist in managing employees and attaining the desired objective at workplace. In addition to
this, for manage the high workload situation, my time management skill can also aid me through
which I can manage the large numbers of projects at a single time. In order to attain the objective
of Hilton hotel, I have to develop effective policies and working practices so as employees can
mange their work and retain In the organization for long time. In this manner, my decision
making power can assist me through which I can take business related decision in an appropriate
manner and attain objective within a time (Erlandsson, 2013). Furthermore, I have effective
presentation skill through which I can effectively conduct meeting and give presentation about
business plan, policies, strategies in front of human resource. However, I have lack of effective
technical skill which resist me in developing report by use of computer and any other equipment.
I have lack of knowledge about computer program. In addition to this, I have ineffective
leadership skill through which I am unable to motivate and inspire people at workplace for
higher productivity and performance Moreover I have lack of effective coordination skill which
resist in developing team of employees for attaining specific task.
1.3 Explanation about improvement
As per the above discussion about my personality it has been ascertained that I have
various roles and responsibility toward Hilton hotel. As cited firm main objective is to render the
high quality services to customers and earn maximum profitability and market share. For this
purpose, I have to more improve my personality and professionalism as HR manager. As it
discussed that I have effective communication, time management and presentation skill but still
in some area I have need to make improvement. In order to improve my technical skill, I should
attend training and development programs through which I can learn many new methods,
concepts and techniques to operate computer and other equipments (Carr, 2014). This will aid
me in developing report of customer services and policies for employees working in the

organization. With the help of training and development programs, I can improve my entire
personality and professionalism because by this aspect I can learn my new skill, ability and

me managing employees work and inspire them for higher performance. Leader play a very
crucial role for attaining objective of business because an effective leader have quality to
motivate, encourage, inspire and persuade people for higher productivity and performance. In
order to improve my leadership skill, I should attend personality development class and
workshop through which I can easily understand the criteria for performing leadership at
workplace. In this personality development class or workshop, I can develop my personality by
acquire various kinds of knowledge, skill and ability. In addition to this, in order to develop
coordination skill, I should organize team activities and meeting where I can practice for
managing large number of people at a single time and also manage high workload among team
members.
1.4 Explanation about motivation techniques
In the Hilton hotel , the entire process and growth of business is largely depends upon the
employees performance. They play very crucial role, so manager require to motivate and
maintain them. Motivation among employees is very utmost aspect because through this
personnel can take initiative for higher performance and productivity. It is a process under which
manager or higher authority encourage, appreciate, recognize and inspire people at workplace by
proving them monetary and in monetary reward for their efficiency and effective performance.
With the help of various techniques, manager of Hilton can motivate employees for higher
productivity (Ifinedo, 2012). In this manner Maslow theory of motivation is very consequential
concept. According to this theory, employees can motivate by five basis needs such as
physiological, safety need, love belonging, self esteem and self actualization need. If manager
want to motivate employees then it must satisfy these five basis needs. Physiological need can
satisfy by effective working environment, atmosphere where all facilities are available for human
being like proper air, water, sleep, leave etc (Kistruck and et.al.,2013). Company should provide
facilities for flexible working practices, effective working environment and sufficient leave so as
employees can comfortably carry out their work. On the other and safety need can satisfy by job
security financial security and safety working environment. So that company should provide
such kind of facilities and make safe place and environment of organization. On the other hand
one another need is related to self belonging under which employees require healthy relationship
with friend , family and colleagues. Self esteem need is related to salary package, bonus,
perquisites, compensation etc. So company should provide such kind of monetary reward for
motivate them. One last important need is related to self actualization need under which
employees want promotion, increment, higher responsibility, status level, growth opportunity
etc. So it can be said that by understand the concept of Maslow motivation need theory, manager
of Hilton hotel can able to motivate and encourage its employees for higher performance and
productivity.

2.1Develop solutions to work based problem
Hilton hotel have major objective is to earn maximum profitability and market share by
delivering high quality services to customers. For this objective, management requires to manage
working related issues and conflict among workforce so as they can effectively carry out their
business activities. Cited venture’s employee is facing the issue related to inappropriate work
management and high workload situation. Some time they exceed their time limit of working at
organization thus their personal life is highly affected. This is major work based problem for
employees of Hilton hotel so manager responsible for identify the actual issue and find an
appropriate alternative solution. In order to resolve this issue of company, manager can analyze
the actual conflict situation (Vance, Siponen and Pahnila, 2012). It is the first stage under which
manager should assess the entire situation of workplace and determine what is the reason through
which employees are unable to manage the high workload situation. Once manager successfully
analyze the current situation of conflict or issue at workplace, in next stage manager should
understand the reason behind work based problem. Once manager understand the reason behind
work based problem of employees in the next stage ,manager should identify appropriate
alternative solution. In this stage, manager is responsible for finding the best solution for
problem. . Further the alternative solution must be suitable and favorable for employees as well
as working criteria. In the last stage, manager of Hilton hotel should implement the effective
alternative solution over the problem so as employees can manage the high workload situation
and also manage their personal life with professional life.
2.2 Explanation about style of communication
In the Hilton hotel, communication play a very crucial role through which management
can convey information and message to employees. With the help of effective medium of
communication, various functional department of company like marketing, human resource,
operational, finance can easily exchange message and carried out their business activities.
Majorly there are two types of communication method that is verbal and non verbal. In the
verbal communication, individual can exchange message by spoken words, gesture, expression
etc (Brookhart, 2012). On the other hand in non verbal communication, they can use written
form of communication like letter, application, report, email, fax etc. In the Hilton hotel, top
management can communicate with board members by conduct meeting and formal session. In
order to communicate with middle level management, higher authority can conduct meeting, and
conference. When top management need to announce information among employees and lower

level management, they can use seminar, notice board, email etc. On the other hand employees
can communicate with top management buy use of email, fax, business letter, application etc. In
the middle level and lower level department communication can develop with help of mobile,
email, video conference etc. In the context of business, email, mobile and internet is best source
of communication.
2.3Identification about time management strategy
In order to attain desired objective within a time period, manage the time schedule in an
appropriate manner is very important. In the Hilton hotel, employees should manage the time in
an effective manner so as they can attain desired objective. Following are some time
management strategy-
Use planning tool- With the help of this strategy, employees can achieve desired result
within a time period. In this they should develop a systematic planning and according to
the priority of task make an effective schedule of work (Deci and Ryan, 2014).
Minimize interruption- According to this strategy, employees should avoid interrupting
activities at the time of working such as mobile phone, texting, chatting , games etc. This
kinds of activity make mismanage the entire work.
TASK 3
3.1Role of people in team
Team working is very helpful for attaining objective of Hilton hotel through which all
member collectively carry out business activities and their performance. All member have
various roles and responsibility toward objective so that they use their different skill, ability and
knowledge for accomplish desired task. All team member are not supposed to break the rules and
regulation of team and also they are responsible to maintain healthy working environment.
They have role to understand the nature and objective of business and provide the best
contribution to attaining that purpose. According to belbin theory there are nine roles of people
bin a team (Rosenberg, Heimler and Morote, 2012). These functions are segregated into three
major parts that is action oriented, people oriented and thought oriented. According to the people
oriented, all members should generate healthy environment at place of work and cooperate and
maintain to each other. On the other hand action oriented stated that all member should create the
challenging task in front of other and motivate them to perform well for the benefit of
corporation. As per thought oriented, people in a team should use some creative and innovative
idea, thoughts and hint to crack specific problem in team.
3.2Analysis of team dynamic
Team dynamic refers to the attribute which is created by the way of team member
working, their interactions, their personality, relationship and contribution to achieve desired
objective of team. In the Hilton hotel, team dynamic play a very crucial role in order to attain

concept to understand the team development and team dynamic. It have four major stages that is
forming, norming, storming and performing (Chevallier and et.al.,2012). Forming stage is first
stage in team development under which all team member come together and try to understand
each other nature and want to become familiar with each other. In the next storming stage, all
team member get start discussion about the roles and responsibility toward team and also discuss
about the way or criteria to accomplished determined task. In the next stage, performing,
teammates, all teammates performs their roles and responsibility to attain objective. At last stage,
team member windup team after accomplishing task.
3.3Way to complete task
Team working is very essential for attaining the objective and it is a way through which
employees can develop effective relationship and healthy working environment at workplace.
Following are some way to accomplish task in a team –
Open communication- With the help of open communication, employees can easily
share their views, suggestion, conflicts with each other as well as management. There is
very essential for open communication through which employees can also transfer their
knowledge and idea with each other (Jones, 2013).
Coordination and support-In order to attain the assignment in a team it is very important
to develop effective coordination and support among workforce. With the help of
coordination and support, each member can effectively attain task in the organization.
TASK 4
4.1 Evaluation of tools for developing solution
In the Hilton hotel, manager can use various stages for developing solution which are as follows-
Identify the actual problem- In this stage, manager can identify the actual reason behind
the issue at workplace. He/she responsible to determine that why the conflict situation
occurred among workforce.
Understand reason behind problem-After identifying the actual reason, manager
responsible to understand the issue among workforce. He/she responsible to understand
what is actual reason behind the conflict scene (Benson, Morgan and Filippaios 2014).
Generate alternative solution- After understand the reason, manager is responsible for
looking at various alternative solution and select on of the best strategy to resolve the
issue.
Implementation-While manger selects the alternative option for solve the issue, in the last
stage, he/she responsible to implement that alternative option. The solution must
objective orientated and meaningful so as every employees can understand that easily.

4.2 strategies for solving problem
As per the above discussion it has been ascertained that with the help of above process,
manager of Hilton hotel can develop effective solution for conflict and work based problem. One
the other hand survey and feedback option is another important strategy through which manager
can easily identify the actual issue and grievance among workforce. By this, manager can find
out the best solution by gaining information from various employees in an organization. One
another strategy for solving problem is team meeting (Ju and et.al.,2014). In this manner, manger
can identify various idea, suggestion, thoughts and opinion for solving issue. This is the best
strategy to gather information by employees for solving issue. In addition to this, team meeting
and personal interaction is best way through which manager can also identify the actual issue and
conflict at workplace.
4.3Implimentation of strategy
After implementing the mentioned strategy, Hilton hotel employer and employees are
largely beneficial because they have able to find out an effective solution for the problem at
workplace (de Guzman and Choi, 2013). With the help of this strategy, manager has also able to
identify the various kinds of suggestion and views of members regarding business policies and
practices. Beside this, employees are able to survive their roles and responsibility toward
business in an effective manner. It assist in improving quality of services of Hilton hotel and also
enhance productivity and profitability of firm.
CONCLUSION
From this project report it has been concluded that Hilton hotel has very benefited by
team working of employees. With the help of this it has able to improve its productivity and
profitability. On the other hand motivation technique also assisted firm in enhancing
performance of employees.
