INTRODUCTION
This journal states about three basic factors that are necessary to be known by any
individual who wants to evaluate his own employability skills and his future in the commercial
sector. I am involved in the hair extension industry where I sell products via Instagram and my
own website. So all the skills will be evaluated at par with the position stated.
KNOW YOURSELF
Description
It is very important that I evaluate my very own skills. I will be able to set new targets
that I need to achieve in future. Also a strategy can be formulated for setting a clear path. By
using Gallup strength assessment I will be able to evaluate myself.
Analysis
These skills are developed with experience and guidance from superiors. I have seen my
seniors working and under their guidance I gained knowledge as well as skills. The Gallup
strength assessment assisted me in identifying five talent themes or strengths that I have.
These are, futuristic approach, positive behaviour, need of being significant in the eyes of
others, developing others potential and strategic ways to accomplish task. They aid me in
completing various task related to my sector.
Interpretation
These skills assist me in attaining my future needs and wants in a effective manner. With
the cited strengths I can create a strategic plan that is based on my positive behaviour with the
aim of achieving my future goals. They help me in setting a path which enables me in
overcoming various issues. Also it makes me significant in the eyes of others and enhance my
ability to develop potential skills in the people working around me.
KNOW YOUR SECTOR
Description
There are two events which were attended by me in last one years. These events aided me
in enlarging my view and perception regarding whole commercial environment.

Analysis
The events attended by me were, Fashion Conference with high profile Networking and
other event that is attended by me was London Fashion Tech Festival- the future of fashion tech.
These two events provided an opportunity as to improve knowledge regarding methods which
can be used for identifying opportunities, gain insight of market trends and approach whole
business process with more innovative strategy. In London fashion tech festival people from
whole beauty industry came up together and shared their perception regarding various business
activities.
These events were organised as to enhance individuals knowledge and ability to spot
opportunity in beauty industry and gain in future. The fashion conference with high profile
networking was held in London as to assist young enthusiasts in fashion industry to make their
mark.
Interpretation
These events made me aware about the commercial process and activities that are taking
place in the beauty sector. They also assisted me in developing skills which can be used for
identifying future trends in fashion industry. It also enabled me in dealing with customers more
efficiently and effectively.
LET THEM KNOW
Description
Ways in which degree program will assist in developing required level of skills will be
stated. These will aid in achieving desired career growth and efficiency.
Analysis
The degree program assisted in gaining basic knowledge that will be used in fashion
industry for achieving success in future. These days it is very important for an individual to have
basic knowledge regarding various scientific and non scientific topics. Which he can use in
achieving a desired level of growth in career.
The star method is used for analysing how current skills can be used as to become
commercially successful. It will be used as to map current skills with the required skills in the
commercial sector. As stated in appendix, there are six skills which are aligned with my current
skills set, leadership, self awareness, negotiating/influencing, commercial awareness, dealing

with conflict and ability to work under pressure. These skills are required for the desired career
level. The star method aided in mapping out abilities and using them in a appropriate manner.
Interpretation
This analysis assisted in mapping out my own skills with required level of skills. But
there is still a lack of abilities which needs to be developed. The identified six skills will aid in
completing all the task in a proper manner.
CONCLUSION
Concluding this report it can be stated that there are various skills which will be required
to establish myself in a desired beauty industry as to achieve success in career.
