Leading people-Manager of the organization is responsible to lead and manage people in the
organization by setting clear objectives and providing regular reviews in order to drive strong
performance (Abas, and Imam, 2016).
Reputation management and branding-As national trust is the organization that manages and

for the manager to maintain them properly (National Trust, 2019).
Performance objective
Targets set by an individual on a short term or long-term basis is termed as performance
objectives. It can be defined as the milestone on the path to accomplishing programs goal.
Performance objectives required being specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound
so to explain performance objective I am using a SMART framework.
Specific-This is the first criteria of SMART goal this refers that goal should be specific. This can
be done by writing a goal on paper and if the organization wants that everyone should notice the
goal of the organization then the organization can display those goals at a public place (Lawlor,
2012).
Measurable-This is the second criteria of a SMART goal. In order to make a goal measurable,
the task can be broken out into smaller parts and these small parts serve as a milestone that helps
to track the progress.
Achievable-The goal should be attainable and realistic because it affects the motivation of
employees.
Relevant-It refers to take the first step at the right time towards the goal in order to accomplish a
task at a time effectively and includes the availability of sources to accomplish goals.
Time bound-It is very important that each goal have some timeline that will help an individual
to stay focus to achieve a goal (Lawlor, 2012).

1.3) RECOMMENDATION FOR IMPROVEMENT
In the above table, I have mentioned my effectiveness against defined objective which helps me
to realize that in which skill I am good enough and in which I have to make improvement in
order to achieve those objectives.
I have to make my problem-solving skill better in order to solve the problem that may arise on
the daily basis as well as crucial problems it is very important for a manager to solve problems
effectively and quickly.
Manager of the organization needs to convey information to various level of the organization in
order to establish coordination with each level and getting work done by people I have to
improve this skill to convey information and objective clearly to people.
I have to improve my time management skills by learning some techniques to manage time
effectively it is very important because there are different activities to be performed at national
trust in order to make visitors experience great.
1.4) MOTIVATIONAL TECHNIQUES TO IMPROVE QUALITY OF
PERFORMANCE
There are many techniques that can be very helpful to improve and enhance the quality of
performance, Maslow’s Hierarchy of need and Herzberg’s two-factor theory is explained below
Maslow’s Hierarchy of need
This theory was propounded by the Abraham Maslow he explained that the needs of employees
exist at a different level and by satisfying those needs the organization can boost the performance
and motivation of employees. According to Maslow Hierarchy of need, there are five needs of
employee that exist at a different level. The first stage of need is fulfilling psychological need
means basic need of an individual such as food, clothes and shelter. The second stage of the
pyramid is satisfying elements of security need like protection, safety and stability. Then the
third stage includes social need this refers to acceptance from friends' and relatives. The fourth

stage represents self-esteem need at this stage need of employee of the organization is to get
recognition from the company it also includes prestige, self-respect and achievement. The last
stage of the pyramid is self-actualization need at this stage employee want to enhance their skills
and knowledge for personal development and growth (Gorman, 2010).
Herzberg’s two-factor theory
This theory enables the organization to find out the root of motivation. National trust can
leverage this theory to get the best performance from employees and team. Herzberg identifies
two factors are motivating factor and hygiene factor. The structure below explains which factors
a motivating factor and which factors can be can act as a hygiene factor to improve performance
of employees (Alshmemri, et al, 2017).
Motivation factors-These elements can motivate employees to work best and harder to achieve
the best results. These factors produce positive satisfaction of employees and found within the
work. These factors encourage employees to perform superior and referred to as satisfier.

Hygiene factors-These factors play an important role to yield motivation at the workplace these
are not responsible for the satisfaction but the absence of these factors can result in
dissatisfaction. These factors are helpful to avoid dissatisfaction and explain the environment of
the job (Alshmemri, et al, 2017).
The diagram below explains the impact of both the factors on the performance of employees of
national trust by affecting the satisfaction of employees.

TASK 2
2.1) DEVELOPMENT OF SOLUTION TO WORK BASED PROBLEM
National Trust is one of the biggest organization that is working to conserve environment and
heritage. There can be a complex problems arises at the workplace that affects the functioning of
the organization such as there can be a problem that employees of the organization feel it
difficult to use new technology that is implemented by the organization to sustain in this
competitive environment. To solve this problem the organization have to make sure that
adequate training is providing to employees so that they can use new technology in order to
perform well and this ensures the flexible functioning of the organization. For example, the
conflicts among the employees of the organization increase day by day and this affects the
productivity of employees and as well as performance and this, in turn, create a bad impression
on visitors because visitors have direct interaction with visitors. To solve this problem
management of the organization has to identify the point of agreement and disagreement and
then help the staff to develop positive work relationship and implement a strong communication
channel.
2.2) COMMUNICATION IN VARIOUS STYLES AT VARIOUS LEVELS
Being the manager of national trust, I have to do effective communication at various levels and
the way of communicating at different level varies. The communication must be according to the
hierarchy of the organization. In national trust firstly I need to communicate at three levels first
one is the top management, the second one is with the frontline staff or lower level employees
and the third one is with visitors. At each level, my way of communication will vary while
communicating with the top management and seniors of the organization I have to follow
professional and formal communication. There should be respect and regards when I
communicating with seniors (Keyton, et al, 2013). The second level of communication with the
subordinate and lower management while communication with subordinates I have to make sure
that my gestures and words show that I am supportive and friendly this enables subordinate to
11

share their problems with me and this also allows them to think freely in order to create an
innovative and creative environment at workplace. Third level of communication with visitors at
this level I have to make sure that my communication should be in the way that visitors cannot
get dissatisfies with that for example, sometimes visitors get rude when they face some problem
so in this case, I have to make sure I provide solution to the problem of visitor patiently. I have to
listen to all the issues and problems carefully and then try to resolve the issue in a very calm
manner and sometimes it requires apology (Bonaccio, et al, 2016). Therefore, I have to make
sure that I am baler to make effective and proper communication at each level.
2.3) TIME MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES
Time management is very essential and plays an important role for the manager of the national
trust because inefficient time management affects activities and operation of national trust and
this results to incompletion of task and goal and this directly linked with the satisfaction of
visitors. Some time management strategies explained below to manage time effectively
(Drucker, 2012).

simplifies the difficult task and save time (Drucker, 2012).
Reflect on your work-This is the strategy that allows the manager to analyze and assess current
progress of work and formulate strategies according to improve working further. This can be
very helpful to eliminate those activities that take unnecessary time in order to manage time
effectively and in the right direction and activities.
Delegate task- Manager should identify those tasks that can be performed by other subordinates.
This requires the manager should select the person who has appropriate skills, experience and
