Introduction
I believe that self-reflection is one of the most important methods of self-evaluation for
any particular career paths. As per my perception, each and every one of us must know our own
strengths and weakness so that we can take actions accordingly. Self-evaluation and self-
reflection help me understand the ways in which I have dealt with certain problems or situations
in the past and how it could have been done in some other way. I can also make changes
accordingly. It is from the reflection this past event that I can take steps to handle it in a better
way. It helps to understand and analyze each and every part of my own persona. As per my
opinion self-reflection is very important as it helps in gaining a deeper clarity and transparency
regarding the situations that we have been through. It helps us to understand each and every step
very clearly and then take the right decisions accordingly. It also helps in making a record of the
weakness or the issues faced. I can thus plan my next mover based on those recorders. I feel that
the greatest advantage of self-reflection is that it helps in the decision making process
Self-reflection exercises
I am currently a student of BIT and I am really proud of being a part of it. I am studying
networking and I believe that this will help me in getting a good and exciting career path as well.
The rewards that I want to get in my career path are to learn in details about the different fields
of networking. The basic rewards that I am seeking currently are to learn about the different
technologies running all over the world and gain a good job position as well. I want to enrich my
knowledge in the networking field. At the same time, I also have the hope of getting some
external rewards as well. I want to get a good job that will have a good salary package and will

give me a very good, friendly, educating ambiance. This will help me in enriching my
knowledge of the networking system.
My personal commitment will be to enrich my knowledge and get a proper experience in
the professional field as well. I think that my commitment is very much applicable and come at
par with my job choices. I will always try to stay in the process of learning and stay dedicated
towards my work.
Personal attributes and employability skills
The personal attributes those are necessary are-
The networking professionals must very good knowledge about the different networking
system and the cybersecurity operations. These are basically the domain related skills that are
required for performing well (Cropley, 2015).
The constant urge for learning
This is one of the most important attributes of a networking engineer or a networking
professional (Eng and Pai, 2015). I have to keep in mind that just after getting into the profession
I must not become too proud. I must also keep up the habit of learning and know many new
things.
Staying updated
The other one is staying updated on the social sites particular the social networking
platforms like the twitter, facebook, and others. These will help me to get an update through
news articles, blog posts (Bikner-Ahsbahs and Prediger, 2014).

People skills or communication skills
I must not think that being a network engineer I will just be dealing with the outages or
any issue in the network systems only. I will be the representative of my company for many
national and International clients. So, I will always have to be very proactive. In particular, I
must have the fluency in English speaking and communication. This is a global language and it
will be the platform for most of the client communication and transactions taking place.
The other important skill is that of being a team player
I have to keep in mind that the companies will hire the fresh networking graduates not
only on the basis of merit or marks they have obtained. This selection will also be done on the
approach and extra initiatives of the individual. In other words, I will have to be very patient and
optimistic in my approach, I will have to work with all the colleagues in a team and know how to
move forward with a collaborative effort.
Identified strengths
I think that my strength is my commercial savvy nature. In other words, I have a habit of
browsing the net and knowing the suitable hob positions after finishing the networking
course. So, I will try to have a clear idea about the job environment, job requirement and
the overall nature of work carried on in the networking companies.
The other strength that I have identified within myself is the ability of multitasking. I
have seen these during my studies as well. I know how to handle the pressure and move
ahead in a planned and step by step manner. I always make a routine or around draft and
plan or proceed on other works and also to finish them.

I am also quite creative in nature. I always had a keen interest towards anything creative
at school. I took part in creative writing, speech, JAM (JUST A MINUTE) and others. I
understand that innovation is one of the basic needs of the modern day society. I will
have to keep myself updated and try to come up with new, innovative business ideas.
I think that the other important skill is the time management. I have a good understanding
of the deadlines. I was also very particular about homework in school. So I assume that
there will be no problem in providing quality work to clients within the assigned time.
Professional development required
One of the challenges that I have faced is communication skills in general and the
English communication skills in particular. I feel that I need more training in this area.
For example, I faced this problem in school and college. English is spoken by all students
coming from different cultural and linguistic background. However, I was not really able
to speak like them. I did not converse well with them as I had problems in
comprehending or fluently speaking in that language.
This must not be the case. I also suffer from lack of patience at times. Usually, I try to
keep my cool but when there is a lot of pressure I often get angry. I must take some
concentration gaining classes and some anger control classes as well.

excited for the moment when I will be finishing this course and taking up the professional life.
However, I will not give up the habit of learning and creativity. I will make sure that I am not
outing any personal benefits before my choice of jobs. I want to join a good company where I
can learn and grow as well. In the initial stages, money making will not be my only goal. I want
to get noticed and recruited by a very good company. I will try to get a good pay and learn at the
same time. I will have to nurture my strengths and work on areas of weakness. I will try to
develop the communication system. I will also enroll myself in spoken English course.
