Employability Skills I Gained
The contemporary labour sector is highly competitive. Employers require employees
that can enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of their firms. As a result, they are
very selective when it comes to employee section and placement. Individuals with the
desirable employability skills are the ones that have high chances of securing employment.
Consequently, this research process played a significant role in enhancing my employability
skills. Precisely, I gained several employability skills while working on this project.
Firstly, I gained critical thinking skills. This research process expounded my critical
thinking abilities significantly. It developed my abilities to analyse different ideologies
objectively and come up with coherent and well-reasoned conclusions. In particular, this
research focused on a highly challenging component in engineering. As such, it required a
comprehensive analysis of materials and ideologies to develop a solution. Consequently, the
research advanced by critical thinking abilities enabling me to make objective and coherent
judgements on issues.
Moreover, I gained problem-solving skills. This competence is closely related to
critical thinking. The research provided me with an opportunity to address one of the most
challenging issues in engineering. As such, it allowed me to perceive and analyse issues from
multiple perspectives. Therefore, working on this research has empowered me to develop the
belief that all problems are solvable if approached with the right mentality.
Importantly, the research process also enhanced my time management skills. In the
employment sector, time management is one of the vital skills that employers assess keenly.
This project allowed me to perfect my scheduling and planning skills. The pressure of
working under tight schedules and deadlines made me appreciate the importance of

developing a timetable for time management. Currently, the experience I gained from
working on this research has made me a better time manager with the ability to allocate time
to different processes based on their complexity.
Team-work is also another essential employability skill I gained as a result of working
on this research. Precisely, I had to work closely with my supervisors during the entire
research duration. The interactions with the supervisors advanced my understanding of the
challenging concepts of the research topic and enabled me to make objective connections
between the various theories and the research problem. With this skill, I believe that I can
collaborate with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds to work on critical projects in
the society.
Mistake and Improvements
In spite the challenging nature of the research topic, I also made several mistakes
particularly on relating the available theories and the analysed data. Nonetheless, I appreciate
the assistance I obtained from the supervisors in evaluating the relevant theories and
interpreting the analysed data. To improve on such mistakes, I need to enhance my online
research and critical appraisal of scholarly sources by seeking assistance from the supervisors
and colleagues promptly.
Improvements of my Employability
Learning is a continuous process. Consequently, I expect to advance the
employability skills I gained from this research by interacting with people from different
cultures and professionals. Besides, I will collaborate with various scholars interested in the
field of vibration to improve the quality of my research by analysing its strengths and weak
points. In summary, working on this research was highly educative.
