Introduction
The employability skills which doesn’t contribute or hold any relation in your education, they
may act as ladder to qualify you for that job but your skills make you grab that opportunity and
work for it. The employers always look for certain set of skills in every employee to hire for their
organization which can contribute in growth of organization and some skill will be specific to the
job but other skills termed as “soft skills” which is much required in every employment sector
and termed as employability skills. The purpose of this task is to understand the aspects related
to employability skills and in this report will discuss about the skills required health and social
care department and find out measures and strategies which are affecting in achieving team and
employee goals.

Develop a set of own responsibilities and performance objectives.
Developing own responsibilities and performances in an organization is the main ability which
encourages performance in terms of training, preparation and service and it has direct relation
between responsibilities and performance which enables an individual to work in better way for
the desired outcomes. The main concern arises here is one’s determination and capabilities which
are required for working in health and social care department and some of the most excellent
unique skills are pursued by the individuals with expertise in that field. The skill of an individual
is the most important and essential factor which signifies the strengths and weaknesses and in
case of health and social care department every skill plays a crucial part in going with the
operations and other modes of working. Team work is the major employability skills and to
develop these responsibilities it requires the respect among team members which helps in
fulfilling organizational goals and responsibilities attached with their job role. Further, the
development of responsibilities requires dedication, disciplined towards the work and these are
few efforts which can help in achievement of responsibilities and performance.

It is mainly concerned about the individuals doing and effectiveness related to achieve
organizational goals which has been described below:

It leads to determine the relations of employees among the organization and assigning

Adapting style of working which suits the work environment and helps other members
too in achieving goals.

Effective utilization of resources available which contributes in the performance, quality
and shows specialization in work done.
It should show safety regarding the scope of job with regards to policies, principles of the
organization.

Changing necessary things for the efficient working of employees.
Launching policies and schemes contributing in health and safety of employees by
contributing a part of their income. (Shuttleworth, 2012)

1.3 Make recommendations for improvement
The initiative taken to ask recommendations or suggestion from employee’s time to time
regarding the improvement to take place in organization in terms of issues like cost
minimization, friendliness or any other work-related issues which can change and helps in
providing best services. There are ways in which these recommendations can be used to improve
the working of an organization:
Online surveys: Issuing surveys for every employee with listed changes and asking for
suggestions and these surveys helps in analyzing the point of view of employees.
Evaluating Opportunities: An employee working in the organization knows in and out
working culture and policies which implements internally and these employees only
generates ideas and provide suggestions in improvement of grievances towards the
organization or any other colleagues.
Collaborations: As it’s always said team work results in effective way, engaging colleagues
to work together results in sharing of knowledge and better understanding which shows the
effective environment and work culture.
Adaptation: New employees when joins the company finds hard to indulge in working
environment, this approach makes things easy for them to adjust in new place and make
them comfortable in the process.

1.4. Review how motivational techniques can be used to improve quality of performance.
There are workers in every organization dissatisfied, criticize everything as their needs
differs which is needed to be find out in order to improve the performance and encourage
them to work better. There are various theories proposed in the field of management which
helps in motivating employees to achieve better performance and organizational goals and to
motivate employee’s management has to adapt motivational techniques. First of all, finding
problem is necessary in accordance to provide solution and results in enhancement of
performance.
To motivate employees there are few techniques which are discussed below:
Recognizing performance and appreciation: Every employee wants his work is
recognized and they get appreciated in front of everyone by organizing rewards and
recognition every month this will encourage employee to work hard and perform better.

Providing amenities: offering facilities like transportation, housing facilities and healthy
work environment and flexible timings.
Promotion and other career opportunities: No organization provide job security but
development of employee is in hands of organization by promoting and creating their career
for life.

When you work at health and social care place which is always concerned about the living
conditions of employees and how these creating an affect in community. There are numerous
issues which require proper eye and treatment to solve these which requires leaders who can
analyze the situation, confront them and implement the required changes. The most common
difficulties are enhancing performance, motivating employees and carrying out improvement.
There are few approaches which can be taken into consideration solve these work-based
problems are as follows:
Proper communication: The problems arises at workplace which hinders the performance
and this can be solved by proper and effective communication between the employees and
leads to steady flow of information regarding any issue.
Feedbacks: Feedbacks helps in correction of the prevailing issues in the organization.
Future planning: This will help to forecast the possibilities of issues in future and
formulate plans accordingly to avoid any sort of discrepancies.
Effective Approach: The approach should be clear in approaching individuals or
management for any sort of company’s affair and it provides the platform for clearing
doubts and give alternative options for them.
Coordination with co-workers: In health department, there will always be crisis in terms of
staffing, people taking leaves without coordinating which leads to the suffering of other
consumers and their way of working get affected. This coordination techniques bridges the
gap between workers and one can pursue another person shifts in order to help each other
which doesn’t harm business requirements.

“Communication is key”. The statement covers all what is needed to describe about
communication and its related benefits and it is required in every line of business from execution
to finish the activity. There are different levels of communication which are followed in every
organization to carry out activities and to follow the level of hierarchy to communicate by which
means of communication is possible. There are ways which are adopt by health and social care
department which comes under the management hierarchy and one should communicate at all
levels before going any further in the decision-making process.
Communication has four types which are as follows:
Reading,
Writing,
Speaking,
Listening.
In health and social care department everyone cannot approach authorities every time as there are
dealing with numerous patients in everyday basis. Here, hierarchy system is followed and
effective communication approached is regulated from time to time to avoid discrepancies and
issues are solved regularly and this way everyone in the management can convey their message
to anyone. (Kamerāde,2014). The emerging technology removed all the barriers in
communication any individual in the organization can approach authorities by putting an email
or writing it on companies’ website regarding the issue.

2.3 Identify effective time-management strategies.
Time management strategies plays important part in every business or organization and to work
in timely manner planning is required to achieve specific goals and objectives which is one of the
main employability skills. Time management includes identification of tasks, prioritizing,
planning it, and allocating the task to suitable person according to his /her skills and capabilities.
There are various effective time management skills which is taken into consideration in health
and social department which are as follows:
1 Set Priorities: The foremost thing before starting a work is to prioritize the job according to
the requirements of business and to differ the work make a list of activities to perform and
differentiate them on the basis of important, urgent, not important which will benefit in
process of work in day to day life.
2 Diminish interruptions: Interruptions tends to arise from lack of communication 90% of the
time the reason is communication gap and less awareness about the work. To avoid these
interruptions set time frame and snooze notifications on phone which will help in not missing
any important news and conversation. (Eubanks, 2016)
3 Resource allocation: In health care department staffing is much important as their work
cycle is 24/7 so employees serve customer every time and proper placement of employees is
required in rotational shifts.
4 Limited Multi-tasking: Every individual believes in doing more work in specific period of
time but that’s not entirely possible as it shifts your focus from one work to another which
hinders the performance. If you wish to multi task set your task and put early deadlines
which reduces multi task and you have planned your day effectively.
5 Procrastination: the habit of procrastination is possessed by every individual and they use it
very often without giving a thought. Initially it starts from delaying it occasionally then it
turns into a habit which in return piles up the work. (Sung, 2013). To avoid this habit, start
managing the time effectively which will result in less procrastination.
6 Time Scheduling: Time acts as a habit of self-discipline and to manage the time it’s
important to focus on first important task and activities. Nowadays, we have option of using

The main reason for working of a team is his manager as they are directly linked with the
manager and to maintain effective working of a team it’s necessary to collaborate each and every
employee to work together towards the goal completion which can be in form of organizing
group discussions where every one’s ideas can be heard and implemented which helps in
allocating the work among groups and teams properly according to employee’s capabilities. In
team management, the allocation of resources and work is first priority with effective planning
and arrangement in accordance to achieve organizational goals and there are individuals who has
specialized certain skills or capabilities to finish particular task. When you work as team, every
individual acquires inter personal skills and these skills enhances the style of working of
individuals and results in pursuing skills from one another which helps in developing
organizational goals and to manage all these work coordinator is assigned who maintain the work
provide opportunities to the team members for performing their activities.
