Employability skills are very important for a successful career; it helps to understand the work
culture along with providing guidance in the development of an employee (Lowden et al.,
2011). This assignment will help to determine the responsibilities and performance of oneself
along with the ways to develop the shortcomings as per a job role. It will also explain various
motivational techniques which can be used by individuals in order to improve the performance.
This assignment will also help to develop communication and interpersonal skills by explaining
various work-based problems and communication styles along with explaining some time-
management strategies. The assignment will also explain the dynamics to team-work by
explaining the roles played by members in a team and suggest ways to complete tasks and
achieve team goals. This assignment will explain various tools and methods which can be used
for developing solutions for problems in an organization and the impact of these solutions on
the organization.

The role of Membership & Visitor Welcome manager at National Trust requires me to perform
many role and responsibilities but my key role is to manage the performance of staff and
ensure that all the visitors at the welcome function feel welcome.
The responsibilities and objectives of the job role are:
Leading the visitor welcome experience:
I have to manage the visitor's engagement across the property and maintain high standards of
presentation before visitors. I have to work closely with other operations to ensure better
management and presentation of the property. I have to be a role model for my team and have
to regularly review their behaviour (Husebø et al., 2015).
Managing financial performance:
I have to ensure achievement of targets to maximize the income of the trust. I have to train my
team to have excellent recruitment knowledge and to promote the benefits of Gift Aid and
payment by direct debits (Davies, 2012).
Leading people:
I have to create a place for staff and volunteer along with recruiting talented and enthusiastic
people. I also have to coach them and set clear objectives to ensure good performance by
regularly reviewing their performance and providing feedback (Stonehouse, 2011).
Managing risk:
I have to ensure that I and my team comply with the company's procedures to minimize risk to
the staff, contractors and public. I also have to ensure compliance with all the legislation along
with managing the risk associated with stock and cash handling (Bassot, 2015).

techniques of management and practice them on people which can help me to manage people

Motivation is a psychological phenomenon and thus I have to learn to control my senses and try
to use them to help me in motivating myself.
Analytical skills:
Analytical skills also can be improved with practice thus I should practice under a guide to help
me in developing my analytical skills (Bassot, 2015).
Interpersonal skills:
Interpersonal skills can be developed by frequently communicating with people; this helps to
build initiation in communicating with individuals and presents a favourable persona to others
thus making us more preferable to share things and talk (Smith and Roberts, 2015).
