INTRODUCTION
Employment is a contract or agreement between an employee and an employer that
ensures that the work is will be operated in the employ’s organization for the achievement
of the goal and mission and the employee will be paid in value to work. The employment
needs employability skill that will help the individual in getting employed. The individual
needs to have excellent employability skills for being employed such as communication
skills, ethics, teamwork and critical thinking. In this assignment, the learner gains the
opportunity to understand and develop their roles and responsibilities when entering in the
organization for employment.

OBJECTIVES
The performance and responsibilities of the employees play an important role in the
progress of the business as well as in improving the employability skills. Being a manager of
the National Trust Company my role, responsibilities and performance objectives are as
follows (Jackson, 2015).
Communication
Communication is a must for the manager as communication will help the manager and the
organization in making an effective and attractive cultural environment in the workplace
that brings a high level of productivity and quick resolution of the problems (Cottrell, 2017).
Teamwork
Teamwork is a process of operating in a group with the aim to achieve the goals and
objectives. The responsibility of the manager in teamwork is motivating the employees for
carrying out effective results by providing learning opportunities and offering different
perspectives (Cottrell, 2017).
Leadership
Leadership quality will help the manager in guiding, directing and influencing the work and
behaviour of the employees for the achievement of the specific goals in the present
situation. It is the responsibility of the manager to guide and direct the team with zeal and
confidence (Cottrell, 2017).
Creativity
Creativity is the process of turning imaginative ideas into realism. It is the responsibility of
the manager to think about new ideas and then producing them in real form. The creative

thinking of the manager will help the organization in engineering variety of products
(Cottrell, 2017).
Commercial awareness
Commercial awareness relates to the understanding of the inner operation and working of
the organization along with the knowledge of industrial functions. The manager of the
organization needs to have an understanding and knowledge about the functions and
operations of the sector (Cottrell, 2017).

1.2 EVALUATE OWN EFFECTIVENESS AGAINST DEFINES OBJECTIVES
Being a manager at the National trust organization my responsibilities are managing the
daily operations within the organization along with setting goals, staffing, motivation to
employees, training management, and evaluation of all departments. On the basis of the
roles and responsibilities the evaluation of the effectiveness against the objectives are as
follows (Gürel and Tat, 2017).
STRENGTHS
The communication skill is one of the biggest
strength I have as a manager at the National
Trust Organization. The skill plays an
important role for me in communication
with the employees and in directing them
regarding the work. Another skill that acts as
strength for me is leadership quality. The
skill will help in leading and carrying out any
operation in an effective manner.
WEAKNESS
Commercial awareness and lack of creativity
skill are one of the biggest weaknesses of
mine as a manager. Commercial awareness
includes awareness about the trends,
policies, changes in the industry and their
impact on the business which is somehow
difficult for me to maintain and manage.
Creativity includes the creation and
development of new products and services
which is sometimes not possible due to lack
of time and resources.
OPPORTUNITIES
One of the best opportunities for the
manager is expanding the business and
improving the skills of staff by organizing
proper training. Other opportunities are the
quality management of the organization and
stimulating innovation and changes within
the organization.
THREATS
Threats are the problems and issues faced by
the manager within the organization. One of
the biggest threat The National Trust
organization faces is the lack of resources
and funds. Being a manager at the
organization the lack of resources and funds
impacts the working and management of the

1.4 REVIEW HOW MOTIVATIONAL TECHNIQUES CAN BE USED TO IMPROVE
QUALITY OF PERFORMANCE
The key responsibility of the manager is the completion of work and achievement of goals
through the staff. Being a manager at The National Trust organization it is the responsibility
of mine to improve the performance of the staff by using different tactics. The tactics must
include providing training, skill development campaigns, group discussions, and leading the
staff by guiding and providing instructions. The other tactics that can be used for carrying
out the working and performance of the staff are motivation. The motivation skill will help
the manager in refining the behaviour and thinking of the ability of the employee. One of
the best motivational theories that can be used for carrying out effective performance of
the staff is Maslow’s hierarchy of needs that contributes in humanizing the behaviour of the
staff (Lichtenberg et al., 2016). The theory includes the following elements-

Physiological need
It is the responsibility of the manager of the organization to fulfil and provide basic needs of
the staff such as sleep, home, food, water and washrooms that will help in the involvement
of the employees in goal achievement (Morgenroth et al., 2015).

Safety need
Maintaining the safety of the staff and organization is one of the biggest responsibilities of
the manager and for maintaining the safety the manager needs to provide health security,
morality, employment security, and maintenance of property and safety of resources
(Morgenroth et al., 2015).
Belongings and love
Maintaining and managing relations among the staff and also maintaining the atmosphere
of the company is the duty of the manager. Therefore the manager needs to analyze and
understand the bonding among the staff and needs to protect them from any kind of
harmful impact (Morgenroth et al., 2015).
Esteem need
Esteem need relates to the confidence, giving and taking respect and achievements that will
help the staff in refining the performance. The manager needs to adopt training,
motivational stories and need to adopt the work culture that will help in carrying out
relevant effects (Morgenroth et al., 2015).
Self-actualization
Self-actualization is interlinked with the creativity, problem-solving skill, morality and
acceptance of facts. Organization of the training by the manager for improving the skills will
help the staff in overcoming the skill issues and contributes to carrying out improved and
relevant outcomes (Morgenroth et al., 2015).
