1.2 Evaluation of self effectiveness
To be successful in the role of visitor welcome and sponsorship manager for the national trust, I have
the following capabilities and skills:
I have a good team leadership skill that is helpful to manage the team. It has the capability to deliver
outstanding customer services to visitors. I also have an understanding of National Trust and its offerings
which will be helpful to convince the visitors to purchase the membership of it. Excellent communication
skills of mine can be helpful to easily convince and attract the visitor and give them a satisfactory

1.3 Recommendations for improvement
To improve the quality of performance, there are certain areas where I can improve myself. For the
exam, I can build an understanding of conservation environment and heritage because National trust is
an arts and heritage related industry. It is also required to develop an enthusiasm to work with people. I
should also develop the skill to train and recruit new people. Improve the skills of dealing with people.
1.4 Importance of motivational techniques
Application of motivational techniques and theories:
Motivational techniques play an important role in self-improvement and performance improvement.
Motivational techniques can be used to convert a negative attitude into a positive attitude. Less
motivated employees give less output to the organization but motivation can help to develop a desire to
perform at their best level. Motivational technologies can be used to maximize the efficiency level of the
team so that team can do the job with their best ability without eating resources and time of the
organization (Hazra, Sengupta and Ghosh, 2014). Thus, motivational methods can be used to achieve the
goals ad objective of the organization. The motivation is also helpful to create a supportive work
environment and this improves the productivity and performance of the staff. Motivation can be helpful
for the manager to easily implement the changes as motivated employees show minimum resistance to
accept the change that is beneficial for the organization (McQuerrey, 2019).
Ways to motivate employees:
To motivate the staff continuously feedback is necessary. It is required to appreciate the good work in
order to continue it. There are following ways to use the motivational methods to improve the
performance:
Clear the expectations: Provide achievable goals to the employee or team members as team members
are aimless without any specific goal.
Give feedback: Continuous and immediate feedback allow the employee to know the impact of their
actions on the company. It is necessary to give specific feedback. This can be helpful to motivate the
employee and improve performance.
Document Page
Correct in private: Mostly people do not easily accept the negative feedbacks thus, it is necessary to
correct the mistakes in private. Scolding or pointing out someone’s mistake in public can leads to the
demonization and impact the performance.
Appreciate in public: If someone is not appreciated for their good work then it leads to the
complacency. So to avoid this concept such as “employee of the month” can be used. People love to be
appreciated and praise in public and this motivate them to improve the performance.
Make achievable incentives and rewards: Awards and appraisal are one of the best ways to motivate
the employees to improve the performance. Rewards should be achievable by everyone; so that each
can give their best to achieve that motivate the performance excellence.
Have faith in employees: If the leader does not have faith in the capabilities of the employees, then it
can lead to the demonization of the employee. Always encourage the team members in order to
motivate them. Use sentences like “I know you can do better than this”, “I am expecting more from you
because you are capable to do it” (McQuerrey, 2019).

TASK 2
2.1 Management report to develop solutions for work-based problems
There are several ways that can be used to handle work-based problems
Feedbacks
Feedback can also play a major role in this. This helps to convert a negative attitude into a positive
attitude with the help of motivation methodologies. This is a help to make a better team. For a better
result of feedback, it is required that specific feedbacks should be given.
Information and communication technology
Information and communication technology can be an effective medium for communication. With the
help of this, information can be shared faster which also helps to avoid rumors. ICT provides
communication mediums such as audio-video conferencing, computer telephony, social networking
sites, e-mails, etc. This improves the accessibility of the information and allows the sender to
communicate with a large number of people at once inconvenient way.
Interpersonal skills
Interpersonal skills are a basic but effective way to handle work-based issues. Some of the interpersonal
skills are initiative use, social skills, assertive skills, etc. Interpersonal skills are helpful to foster effective
communication. This help to build healthy relationships with workmates. This also leads to mutual
respect and team spirit. This ensures a fluent performance. Being respectful towards others is also a part
of interpersonal skill. This fosters a positive relationship in the workplace and avoids arguments
(Phillpott, 2019).
Problem solving and solution generation
Problem-solving skills are a combined use of all of the above ways to deal with problems. To avoid the
problem of arguments between employees in the “National Trust”, first identify and analyze the
problem. As the problem is higher workload on some employees. So there can be some reasons for that
such as some people are less skilled so they are not able to do the work effectively, the employees are
not serious or motivated towards the work, assigned task is not aligned with their interest or area of
work, there may not be a healthy relationship between teams, they are not got appreciation for their
work etc. Then, after the identification of the reason behind it, changes should be done at the
workplace. These changes can be conducting training programs for the less skilled people, conduct a
motivational seminar to motivate the employees, give appreciation for good work, allocate the work on
the basis of ability and skill of the person, etc. These solutions can be helpful to create a healthy
environment in “National trust” and eliminate the situation of arguments or excessive workload.

2.2 Effective Communication
To avoid the conflicts and misbehavior of the team members, it is required to use effective
communication methods. These methods can be helpful to develop transferable interpersonal skills.
Miscommunication is the major reason behind conflict among the team. It will be good if an employee
feels comfortable to share issues, ideas with the manger in “national trust”. To avoid these situations,
non-verbal and verbal communication methods can be used. Team meetings can be arranged to find out
the reasons behind the problem. These can also lead to the solution of the problem. It is necessary to
communicate to avoid rumors. It is required to not assume anything and find out what is fueling the
conflict between staff. The communication process should be in such a way that people from various
cultures and geographical location can understand and relate to that easily.
