INTRODUCTION
Employability skills are the important part in an organisation as it helps in order to improve
the performance of employees and also motivate others to work in an effective manner.
Employees has their own responsibilities which needs to be improve with the help of various
strategies, methods and techniques as it is useful in enhancing the motivation of employees.
Moreover, team working is also helpful for an organisation as it smoothen the functioning of
organisation by using different methods in order to achieve team goals (Suleman, 2016). For this,
various strategies are used to solve the issue and an organisation use these strategies in order to
develop solutions. This report is in the context of National Trust which is situated in Wales,
England. This report is going to determine own responsibilities and performance and also
develop interpersonal and transferable skills for it. Moreover, it also understands the various
dynamics of team working and develops appropriate strategies in order to solve the problems.
TASK 1
P1.1 Develop a set of own responsibilities and performance objectives
Employees who work in an organisation are expected to complete their work on time and
this task comes under their responsibility. Here, both the employer and employees are
responsible to complete the task in an effective and efficient manner (Lim and et. al., 2016). If I
was employee of national trust organisation I would develop my own set of responsibilities and
performance objectives which are mentioned as under:
Job Responsibility: It is important element which helps in developing the productivity of
an organisation as it describes the power and authority of employee and whom they liable
for their work. For an employee it is important to complete their task specific time period
is it helps in motivating other imprints and increases the image of company in market.
Mutual Responsibility: It is the major responsibility which describes the coordination
and cooperation of employees for each other. This responsibility should be present in
each and every employee who works in an organisation as it develops the positive
environment or healthy workplace (Abas and Imam, 2016). It is also helpful for
employees as each of them can prevent from violation and easily share each other’s work.
Customer Satisfaction: It is the primary quality service it is provided by employees as it
helps in developing their reputation and image of organisation. It is important for any

employer to provide the service is it helps entertaining loyal and potential customers
towards the organisation. Responsibility can be fulfil by conducting market research and
also determining the taste and preferences of customers as this factors helps in satisfying
the needs and requirements.
P1.2 Analyse own effectiveness against defined objectives
An employee use appropriate activities in order to develop its effectiveness and efficiency
which helps in serving for an organisation. A different activity which needs to be implement in
order to develop the personality of individual are mentioned is under:
The employer of an organisation always clarifies the various objectives of an organisation
to their employees because it helps them to provide excellent quality of services to their
respective customers and help the organisation to retain their customer base. It is done
with the help of line managers as they will inform everyday about their expectations and
desired outcomes to their employees.
Moreover the well trained and experienced employees can provide guidance to those who
recently joined the organisation as it helps them to analyse the various needs and
requirements of customers and how to fulfil it. For this teamwork is developed acid helps
in engaging all members of an organisation in a collaborative functioning because team-
working is useful in order to fill the gaps and improve the overall performance of
employees.
After analysing effectiveness, I found the certain problems which arise in employees like
miscommunication and lack of cooperation can misbalance the team working even the
responsibilities will not manage and the employees does not provide appropriate support and
guidance to each other or to new members. Thus, supervision is required at various levels as it
helps in increasing the cost and efficiency of an organisation.
P1.3 Recommendations for improvement
Various problems arise at workplace but an organisation Run in a smooth manner after
overcoming these problems and it can be done because of performance appraisal as it analyse the
importance of improvement. Several recommendations for improvement are mentioned as under:
With the help of communication it is possible to overcome the issues as it helps in
providing the appropriate and effective information it helps in improving the performance

of organisation. It is helpful for the higher authorities to reach to the employees and
interact with them on their performance.
Compensation is the element which helps in motivating the employees and motivated
employees automatic leads to improve their performance which increases the overall
performance of an organisation (Tsitskari and et. al., 2017). In this element employees
get payment hikes perks and incentives which helps in inspiring then to work. Moreover,
recognition help in contributing the performance of employees is it include the
acknowledgement and rewards.
Another factor is the training and flexible working conditions training helps in in getting
knowledge and updating employees about the latest technology. Because of training
employees feel confidence in them and complete their task with zeal. Flexibility helps
them in balancing their personal and professional timing which helps employees to work
in an appropriate manner.
P1.4 Review how motivational techniques can be used to improve quality of performance
Motivation helps in encouraging the employees and meeting the desired goals and
objectives. These techniques are useful in order to inspire the employees of the organisation
which are mentioned as under:
Maslow’s need theory: This theory defines the different levels and needs which motivate
the employees in order to work in an appropriate manner. These needs are firstly
analysed by Maslow and it depicts the range of psychological to social (O’Connor and
Bodicoat, 2017). This theory defines the need of food clothing shelter which comes under
the psychological and defines the social needs which depicts the respect and
acknowledgement. Safety needs and protection against exploitation are relies under the
security needs.
Employee Participation: According to this theory, the participation of employees in
decision making process is important as it makes them feel valuable and worthy for an
organisation. It is also helpful for an organisation as because of this they get new
suggestions and ideas which help them to achieve success in a dynamic business
environment.

From the above discussion various strategies are used in order to achieve results and find
appropriate solution for it. Here, own responsibilities and performance objectives are developed
which defines the ability and encouragement in order to accomplish organisational goals (Rowe
and Zegwaard, 2017). It depicts the various methodologies which is used order to work or
regulate in the different types of situations and also achieve success in a progressive manner.

Being an assistant manager I would like to set my personal goals as per the needs and
requirements of the organisation. Is it helps in individuals in order to become independent and
identify their capabilities and also put efforts in order to attain their targets. The section
highlights various responsibilities which is pursuit by me and improve my performance in a
comprehensive manner. Lastly it defines the motivational techniques and concepts which helps
in order to motivate other person to work in an effective manner.

There are various solutions which help in solving the work breast problems which are
discussed as under:
Effective Communication: It is important for an organisation to have effective
communication as it helps in clarifying the desired goals and objectives. It is helpful for
an organisation to avoid the emergence of any sort of problems and also able to analyse
the issues which arise in the mind of employee’s full stop because of this the employer
can directly communicate with employees and authorities and convey the problems of
employees (Kaushal, 2016). Communication system will helps in avoiding the several
problems and maintain the healthy relationship between employees and authorities.
Negotiation Skills: This skill is helpful in resolving conflicts and disputes which arise at
workplace. It is a process it is done between two or more persons. This skill should be
present in the manager and the head of authority as they become the mediator while
solving the problems among the employees and Management (Suleman, 2018). While
pursuing this process the focus of manager is on the source or origin of the problem and
also on the people who are involved in the conflict.

Incentives: It is merely solution of each and every problem which arises in the
organisation is it helps in improving the motivation and encouraging the performance of

by providing incentives and reports as it helps in retaining the employees for the longer

from organisation in order to settle the differences not to make them issue for the public.
P2.2 Communicate in a variety of styles and appropriate manner at various levels
Interpersonal skills are used by many organisations in order to communicate with their
employees as it is beneficial for the workplace. For this various styles are developed as it helps in
communicating with their colleague’s, subordinates and many more. Various communication
styles are described as under:
Aggressive: It is not an appropriate way to communicate with the employees as it does
not develop good listener when it comes to analysing and listening the problems of
employees (Messum and et. al., 2016). In this employees rarely get the chance to describe
their views and suggestions. This structure is more rigid and not relevant for both the
employees and managers as it can demotivate the employees and decreases their
performance.
Passive: This method is comparatively fine as it involve indirect communication among
employees. In this employees are not that free to express their views as they are quite
hesitated in order to talk with their managers (Fletcher, Sharif and Haw, 2017). This style
is useful in order to prevent from the issues but is not useful for the long period of time.
Assertive: This style considered as the excellent way of communication and also better
from the above two and it is used by many companies at international level. In the style
both the managers and employees listen to each other’s problem and develop healthy
relationship which is transparent in nature (Clokie and Fourie, 2016). Their relationship is
useful for both of them in order to share the goals and desired outcome which helps in the
development of company.

These strategies define the various methods which help in allotting time for several
activities. The time management strategies are mentioned as under:

Set clear priorities: Priorities are helpful in order to define and make difference between
what is important and what is urgent. It is the effective tool because it define that how to
manage time and work as per the requirement (Trought, 2017). It helps in reducing the
burden from the shoulder of employees and one of the simplest way to prioritise things is
to make to do list as it divide the work according to its urgency.
Use planning tool: The experts of time management always use planning tool in order to
improve their productivity. This tool carries various steps which define the importance of
work according to their specific time and because of this the employees can focus on the
priorities. Various examples of planning tool include pocket diaries, calendars, electronic
planners, notebooks charts and computer programs which help in writing down the task
and scheduling it by considering there is specific time (Messum and et. al., 2016).

Communication is important method which places a significant role in order to clarify
things and goals to employees. In addition to this time management skills are also identified
which defines the management of time in the complex situation and accomplish the important
work on time. Moreover various communication methods or styles are defined which is helpful
for the employer in order to communicate with their employees and from which assertive is the
best.
D2. Analyse the responsibilities for managing and organising activities
The above task is useful in identifying the various problems which arise at the workplace but
when the problems arise the come with the suitable solutions which needs to be finding out. It is
also analysed that communication plays an important role in order to resolve conflicts and
various types of communication styles are mentioned above from which assertive is best as it is
beneficial for whole the organisation (Jackson, 2016). Moreover time management strategies are
also identified which helps in resolving issues at workplace.

P3.1 Explain the roles which people play in a team and how they can work together to achieve
shared goals
The section is concerned with the understanding of the teamwork and the roles which are
played by the people in order to achieve their goals. Hence team dynamics is required to identify

and also need to get suggestions in order to complete the task in a specific time period full stop
for the team dynamics the Belbin team theory is used which defines the nine team roles which
are mentioned as under:
Resource Investigator: The role of these members is to use the available resources in an
appropriate manner. These members have enthusiasm in their behaviour and also
discovered the opportunities in order to expand their contacts.
Team Worker: Their role is to help up the team members in order to use their potential in
a creative manner is it helps to finish the task in a specific period of time (Misra and
Khurana, 2017). They have calibration and listening quality in their behaviour is it helps
in avoiding any sort of conflict and disruption from the functioning of an organisation.
Coordinator: Their role is to concentrate on the objectives which help in selecting the
team members and also delegating work in an appropriate manner. They have maturity,
confidence and talent in their behaviour which helps in clarifying the goals and
objectives.
Plant: These members are creative and efficient in order to overcome the problems in an
innovative way. They are creative and innovative thinker in their behaviour and also
consider the ideas and opinion of every generation (Nisha and Rajasekaran, 2018).
Monitor Evaluator: Their role is to identify the logic behind every judgement and
estimate the options with your concern about the team and effective manner. There
behavioural traits include bright insight and also consider every option and verdicts.
Specialist: These members are single minded little bit initiative and also offer
professional knowhow and skills and carry lot of information in order to assemble a team
and manage it.
Shape: Their role is to motivate and encourage the team and team members in order to
accomplish various goals and objectives and also move them forward without losing their
focus and zeal.
Implementer: Their roll stock market the planning and strategies which helps in
functioning in an effective and successful manager (Ayoubi, Alzarif and Khalifa, 2017).
These members are very honest and realistic in their behaviour as they have capability to
convert their views into actions.

Forming: This stage is concerned with the formation of the team and describes the
positive mind after team members. It includes the great enthusiasm of the team members
in order to achieve their goals (Chowdhury and Miah, 2016). In this the role of leader is
to form various stages which defines the roles and responsibilities of the team members.
In this stage planning function is used in order to form a team by considering the skills
and knowledge of the employees.
Norming: In the stage the roles and responsibilities of each member are described to
them in order to get desired result. Here, the team discusses and develop the way of
working as per their flexibility in this unity is required in order to achieve goals and also
commitment is needed of the employees (Tuckman: Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing,
2019). In this leaders use which national leadership in order to deal with employees and
also motivate them towards achieving their objectives.
Storming: This stage includes the conflicts which arise with the working style of team
members as the working manner clashes with the performance of each other. The
employees work in different ways and have different working styles which create
unexpected problems and also disappoint other employees. Here, the role of leader is to
resolve these conflicts and motivate their employees to work in a collective manner.
Performing: It is the last stage which defines that employees perform in a team in order

a particular time. It is useful for employees are it helps in boosting their performance and
values (Abas and Imam, 2016). Overall it is useful for the organisation as motivated and
effective employees work for the company in order to achieve success and the individual
goals are also related with the organisational goals. In order to motivate employees there
are various ways such as positive and negative motivation.
Monitoring and Feedback: This describes that an employer need to continuously
monitor the performance of employees as it helps in finding any sort of deviation in their
performance and taking corrective action in order to accomplish the task. It is the
alternative way which helps in increasing the performance of employees and achieving
the team goals (Lim and et. al., 2016).
M3. Present and communicate appropriate findings
A team is the collection of individuals as it defines the excellent knowledge and quality of
employees which put positive impact on the performance of employees and organisation. For this
in the above section two theories are used which defines the different roles of team members in a

styles which are used by leader at the time of making team.

team in order to accomplish their objectives. For this two theories are used first is Belbin team
theory which carry 9 team roles and the another one is Tuckman theory in order to analyse the
Dynamics of team which include four stages of the formation and operation of team. Lastly
alternative ways are described which helps in achieving the goals and define the specialisation in
the method of appropriate communication.
