INTRODUCTION
Employability skills can be defined as transferable skills required by a person to make
them employable. The organisation wants to hire most talented and knowledgable workers so
that individuals can perform their task as per the requirements of corporation. To enhance these
skills, management provides training to staffs. To understand this concept better,
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has being selected which is incorporated in United
Kingdom. In this report,following topics are covered such as own roles and performance
objectives & recommendations for improvements, develop interpersonal and transferable skills,
effective time management strategies and roles people play in a team and how they can work
together to achieve shared goals.
TASK 1
1.1 Set of own responsibilities and performance objectives
According to me human resource manager of company plays an important role so that it
can achieve its objectives. It is responsible to select most suitable candidates who perform their
task effectively which is helpful to achieve the targets. The HR manager of IHG perform its
responsibilities as per the requirements of corporation which is helpful to achieve performance
objectives. Personal responsibility is the responsibility of an individual at work place which is to
complete the work as per the requirement of company. It involves:
Adaptability & flexibility : As per my views the persons should adapt the changes as per
the requirement of IHG and which shows the flexibility that an individual can adjust in any type
of working environment and condition.
Decision making & career planing : I think a person is responsible to take decisions
about its career planning so that it can achieve its personal goals and targets.
Ability to learn: According to me an individual should emphasis to learn as much as it
can so that their skills can be develop which contribute the IGH to achieve its objectives.
Legislations, ethics, employment rights and responsibility : I think a person is
responsible to follow the compliances of legislation, ethics and employment rights so that work
can be done effectively and operations does not get hamper. As a result IHG can survive for a
long time and get success and growth.
