TASK 1
1.1 DEVELOP A SET OF OWN RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE
OBJECTIVES.
Personal management comprises of the two elements that are personal responsibilities and
performance objectives. This includes a set of capabilities so as to provide the best possible
solution for the specific task. Thus, Training Manager required possessing such improved skills
to analyze the personal strength and weakness in the organization (Howard, 2012).
This assignment discusses the employability skills of training manager. Being a training manager
in the organization, I would set personal goals in alignment with the organizational goals. It’s
my own responsibility to demonstrate my own capabilities with regard to my scope of personal
management. This part also discusses my employability skills with respect to apprentice
training, motivation and leadership so as to meet my individual responsibilities and
performance objectives.
With regard to my scope of personal management, I am taking initiative to determine my own
responsibility and evaluate the constraint of individual skills for further improvements. It is
important to acknowledge individual aspects of functionality as an employee so as to inculcate
the working environment in the organization.
Furthermore, best utilization of human resource and enhancement of individual skills can
provide productive results for the organization. In the context of my employability skills that
include:
To develop gradual independent apprentices.
To provide a range of performance targets with regard to a comprehensive assortment
of apprentices (Rasul et al.,2012).
To identify their personal goals and motivates them, to improve their performance.
To enhance their capabilities through continuous performance appraisal.
This, I will be aware of my personal responsibilities so as to develop a positive environment in
the organization's work culture. Additionally, the setting of individual performance objectives
can provide quality of services from my end.

1.2 EVALUATE OWN EFFECTIVENESS AGAINST DEFINED OBJECTIVES
The personal capabilities and effectiveness need to be evaluated against the defined objectives
and goals set by Travelodge.
Control of individual work
Being a training manager in the Travelodge, it is important to determine and prioritize the
overall workload among the team members that are required to be achieved within the time
frame. Thus, the proper allocation of work among the individuals is done to ascertain the value
of work (Morrison et al., 2012).
Supervising the changes
The performance of the apprentices needs to be supervised at regular intervals. The monitoring
of external changes is also associated with the job training manager. Such changes will help the
manager to decide the future action plan and suggestive approach in respect of associated
work in a precise way.
Proper management of the self-jobs
The job is assigned according to the skill and qualification of an individual. Also, a
predetermined style of acceptance is examined so as to assess the accepted job quality. Thus, it
is required that I should consider my responsibility towards the apprentices so as to build an
appropriate relationship amongst us.

1.3 MAKE RECCOMENDATNS FOR IMPROVEMENT
Human resource is an important aspect of promoting improvement in the organizational culture. It is the
employees who support the organization in every different scenario. They make attempt at each and
every stage to reduce the cost and develop the culture of benevolence at the workplace. The specific
plans towards improvement are related to
Evaluation of enormous opportunity
Being a Training Manager at the Travelodge, I am encouraging the employees for the development of
new innovative ideas. This will further instill a sense of belongingness among the employees and
motivates them to share their thoughts for future improvements (Lotko et al., 2016).
Re-evaluation of management
Changes with respect to training programs and personality development can help the apprentices in the
hotel industry to develop their own interpersonal skills.
Involvement of peer
I should encourage a culture of teamwork in the work environment of the organization. Any
finding or observations by the employees that are related to the other's area of work should be
immediately communicated.
Doing adjustments
The behavior of welcoming changes with respect to the changing environment can improve the
productivity of the organization. Furthermore, constant training programs can provide clarity
with respect to the roles and responsibility of each and everyone in the organization.
Henceforth, this will further increase the level of competence to deal with the client (Lotko et
al., 2016).

1.4 REVIEW HOW MOTIVATIONAL TECHNIQUES CAN BE USED TO IMPROVE
QUALITY OF PERFORMANCE
There are different motivational theories associated with the different needs of the employees.
One such theory is Maslow's Hierarchy Need theory to satisfy the needs of lower level
employees. The theory comprises of various needs related to physical, safety, social, self-
actualization and self-esteem needs. Thus, Maslow’s theory plays a significant role to
encourage employees so as to coordinate their efforts in relation to the achievement of the
organizational goal (Glover, 2013).
It is a matter of utmost priority to motivate the employees so as to work with absolute
eagerness for the development of employability skills. The other methods to encourage the
staff and perform the task by the end of the deadline are as follows:
o Providing transportation and conveyance
The non-financial benefit in the form of transportation facilities and other conveyance
charges can act as a motivating factor to the employees.
o Provisions with regard to the housing facility
The housing and accommodation facility provided by the employer can yield better
results for the company. Furthermore, this will enhance the performing ability of the
employees (Michie et al., 2012).
o Perk provisions
Perk refers to the lump sum amount taken by the employees at the time of retirement.
The provisions with respect to perk can encourage employees to give their best to the
organization.
o Prizes
Employees must be appreciated and rewarded for the work carried out by him. The
prices and rewards will yield better results and improve their performance in the future.
Thus, it can be further stated that the motivation factor can further reduce the turnover cost of
the employees in the organization.

TASK 2
2.1 DEVELOP SOLUTIONS TO WORK BASED PROBLEM
Being a Training Manager at the Travelodge, the main problem that has been identified is to
motivate the people that are unwilling to work. Apart from this, there are several troublesome
issues such as complex structure, risk management, quality assurance and others. Being a
manager of the hotel, it is my responsibility to meet the described criteria in contingent time so
as to resolve the issue (Savery, 2015).
Additionally Travelodge faces the problem of ineffective communication among the line staff.
Sometimes, it is been difficult to fix the responsibility in the organization. It is thereby necessary
to find solutions and resolve the scenario of planning with respect to asserting the quality as
well as crisis management. The likely parameters to resolve the issues in the contingent time
can be as follows:
Ensure proper training to all the employees so as to assess the equipment.
Proper allotment of resources to find a solution for emergency situations.
The effective planning can redress the issues with regard to the lack of resources and
other facilities.
Ensure proper handling of equipment and tools by all the employees.
Verbal and written communication can prove to be effective to encounter several
problems.
The receptiveness outlook towards the challenging aspect can find a solution to the
problem (savery, 2015).
Problem-solving is an important aspect to deal with the workplace hurdle. The
responsiveness to various situations that occur in the hotel industry can inculcate a culture
of mutual understanding among the various groups. Moreover, feedback from the clients
can further help in effectively managing the work.
