INTRODUCTION
The potential and capabilities of an individual in an organization for sustaining the
employment and the decisions made should be understandable and which will aid in the
development of the career and which is known as the employability skills. Determining the skills
and the knowledge which is utilised at the time of the process of selection and also at the
recruiting of the individuals the recruitment organizations or recruiters evaluate an individual's
employability skills. For various types of functions which are to be performed by an employee,
different kinds of employability skills are required (Yorke, 2006). The present report carried on
the analysis done on National Health and Services (NHS) which is a publicly funded and
operated national health and social care setting. Below is the self assessment carried out on the
report which is carried out on the identification of the strengths and weaknesses and also the
duties and the roles to be performed within the organization. Moreover the following analysis
has been explained with the effective management strategies along-with the development
solutions which are required to resolve the work related problems.
TASK 1
1.1
As per mentioned in the above scenario, I have been appointed as a head attendant and
supervisor in NHS. There are number of tasks and duties which are to be performed within my
working culture for the organization (Lowden, K., and et.al., 2011). The authority is mine and I
am required to serve the patients and to take care of their necessities and requirements. It is
necessary for me to create a care plan and also strategies for carrying out day-to-day activities in
an appropriate manner and first from these there is a list of all the service users and these are the
individuals which require special kind of attention and also of taking medicines and healthy food
which they need to consume. For example the duty is mine to handle, take-care and or the
regular basis their conditions and medications they are being provided and the provided medical
facilities are not making improvements in their conditions then necessary changes should be
made.
Performance objectives
The level of quality should be at high rate in order to serve the best services to service
users.
1

The treatment is needed to be provided to the services users in a well maintained and
clean environment (Rae, 2007).
The services rendered to them should be as per their requirements and necessities.
By making comparison in the performance level necessary improvements and
modifications can be made for serving the services for future the best treatment to
services users.
1.2
Below presented is the evaluation carried out on own effectiveness against the defined
objectives:
Acceptance for safety and security: There should be efforts made by me for the security
and safety and also I will try that patients should be treated so that they feel comfortable and
secured in NHS (Wickramasinghe and Perera, 2010). The necessary changes if done will be
accepted by me also which have been done in the organization and also the reduction of the risks
pertaining areas so as to make more comfortable for the patients and also for the employees to
work in the organization. I will be making use of methods of quality measurements
simultaneously as per methodological progress of the jobs.
Self job management : A to do list need to be maintained by me in order to manage the
routine work I will try to manage the timings of the treatments which is needed to be given to
the patients on time and deliver them services without creating any mismanagement. And apart
from ny routine work I need also to maintain a strong relation ship with all the patients so as they
can share their personal information with me which is required at the time of treatment. There
should be a proper and perfect timing so as the patients will recover fast.
High quality services: There will be my best try in providing a set of high quality
services and also will make an friendly environment for the service users. I will also try to focus
more on the demands and requirements of the patients and make sure that the services provided

1.3
In NHS, I will try to make sure that the employees working there are well skilled and
there will be use of advanced technologies. Sometimes, patient dose not feel safe while sharing
their personal information. Many patients do not came in their hospital because of lack of
technology. Below are the recommendations that should be implemented in order to provide the
best services to service users:
Identify problems in system:
Training employees for communication methods: Providing training to the staff and
make them able to successfully adopt modern methods of information transformation programs.
This is required for proper strategic planning (Wilton, 2011), designing and applying on
organisational functions.
Involvement of the employees: By enhancing the involvement of the workforce in the
operational activities and also in the process of decision making there can be creation of an
unique or innovative workplace which will help the staff of organization so that there can be
done work and collaborate with other employees and would share the knowledge effectually.
Apart from these above recommendations, there is a need of appropriate training and
development sessions so as to provide the employees within the organization. This will also
make developments in the skills they have and also they will be able to take care of the service
users in an appropriate manner. It is necessary to train all care workers so that in absence of
doctors, they can easily treat the patient. There should be introduction of technology in the the
organization for the improvements in the procedures so as to provide more comfort to the
patients. Management decisions should be based on the collecting and determining facts. The
should also set a mechanism for identification of the problems which are significant and crucial
to be addressed first. Moreover, if the information is kept in a safe manner, it can be helpful in
the future. In the healthy environment, services users should be treated so that their health can
recover fast. With the help of advanced technology, patients get treatment on time and they get
high quality of treatment with the help of new techniques (Singh and Singh, 2008).
1.4
Motivating or encouraging is to be considered as the one of the most impacting and
determining the characteristics which aids the individuals with the achievement of the personal
and organizational goals in an interesting and enthusiastic way. These are to be considered as the

key factors which brings an enhancement in the performance level of an employee within an
organization. There are many motivational approaches which have been utilised and also can be
used for the future improvements in the quality of performance by NHS. There are many types of
motivational theories which can be adopted by the business corporations and from these the two
of the following are the main approaches which can be utilised by the business corporation for
the motivation of the performance of the employees and the staff members (Bridgstock, 2009).
Ma-slow theory and Herzberg's theory are the significant tools or the theories which can be
adopted by NHS for carrying out the motivation process. After getting motivation the employees
will be more charged up and will be feeling more enthusiasm and will start working harder and
the quality of performance will also be improved. As mentioned according to the theory of
Malsow, the motivation to the working staff is when their basic needs that are food, shelter etc.
are fulfilled and by doing these needs it will become more easier to motivate them. Apart from
this the theory also helps the employees and the needs and the requirements of the individuals in
the organization the satisfaction can be given to the employees at the different level and that are
the basic needs such as physiological need, self-esteem needs etc. these are all considered at
different levels and are needed to be fulfilled one by one by NHS for bringing a motivation level
in them and the another method which can be adopted by the organization is the reward system,
in this employee can will be provided by reward on their best performance which can be in the
form of monetary or non-monetary. This system motivates the individuals to work even more
harder for getting a reward. Giving monetary rewards can be proven beneficial in the lower level
of employees and the staff members at the workplace (Cassidy, 2006). Providing a Job security
to the individual will give them an ensured feeling regarding the security of their job and they
will feel risk free of losing a job. Planning incentive schemes for the employees can also be
proven beneficial in the process of motivation.
TASK 2

in the organizational structure and these issues has arisen because of the conflicts between the
new joiners and the existing staff of the organization and which is required to be solved so as to

activities within the business corporation. The following are the necessary recommendations or
the solutions which have to be implemented for resolving the above stated issues:-
There is a need for the management to conduct a meeting which should include the
discussions over the issues and also how to solve or find out the solutions for the same. The
agenda of the meeting should be based mainly on the developing the mechanisms and also the
implementation of the same systems some systems and mechanisms for setting a proper flow of
communication and this can be done by taking ideas and views form the superiors and also the
involvement of the employees form the different levels of the business entity by this comparison
can be done and best option can be chosen so as to derive quick and effective results (Andrews
and Higson, 2008). Practices and trainings for active listening can be given to the workforce so
as to ensure an effective attention in the tasks to be performed by staff has been mentioned above
for avoiding the issue of miss-communication. And also for avoiding the misunderstanding and
also there should be seen that the message receiver has understood the message that has been
stated. There is a requirement of the division of separate departments for each field so that miss-
management can be brought to a minimal level. Moreover there is a formal communication
process which is started as following, in which no one is allowed to communicate directly with
each other and by adopting approach of time management all the work will be managed on time.

The below mentioned are the four strategies which have been utilised in resolving the
problem or the conflicts which can be utilised by NHS for solving the issues which may rise in
the organization:-
Understand the problem
The management should develop a team who should be involved in the monitoring the
issues and the conflicts. At NHS, the members of the company should be done with a proper
identification of the problem so that it can be sought out in an appropriate manner. (Archer and
Davison, 2008).
Set plan
In this concept the next step can be considered as to set the plan for solving the problem.
Planning is deciding and also choosing the options that what is to be done and planning is also to
be done to solve the specific problem and finding out the solutions for the same. As per it has
been clearly mentioned in the previous stages at the organisation can create some tools and
techniques to solve the problem. Alternatives should be developed to solve the problem.
Implementation
This is the stage of the implementation of the plans which has been evaluated by the
organization as the above mentioned procedure. There are number of alternatives and the
business organization has to choose one among them best alternative should be selected to get
the best possible outcome in relation to the situation.
Evaluation
This has to be considered as the last step in the process and in this step the company is
required to make an evaluation process on all the strategies which have been made to use by the
firm to improve the performant in the market place and can achieve the success and growth and
the goals and objectives which are decided by the entity (Yorke, 2006).
4.3
Evaluation has to be considered as the steps which are utilised to be check and make an t
analysis and this has to be done between the different levels or the departments of the problem
solving procedure. There is a need to carry out an appropriate analysis and which has to be done
for the strategies that how much they affect the business. And if the results are found with any
defects or faults then the strategies which are implemented they are not correct and they have to
9

again make the strategies and implemented and also reason should be found out why this defect
should come and how this has effected the business strategies. The plans and the strategies are
considered as very important part of business. And without these a business organisation shall
not be able to incurred any profits as well as to establish proper management. (Lowden, K., and
et.al., 2011).
