Introduction
Skills make an individual confident to work in the workplace and help to generate efficiency in
achieving goals and objectives of the business. Employability skills are required skills that help
people to stay on the job and help to achieve suitable goals and objectives. While getting
appointed at the job it is necessary to develop variety of skills that help an individual to generate
effective output. Current report will describe about sharing experience working as the home care
assistant that will help to follow dreams of opening a training school where people will be
prepared to fight from poverty. With sharing experience and different roles and responsibility,
standard of living of the people and values to their life can be enhanced. Current report presents
set of different skills and capabilities required to work in the place and different techniques are
utilised to increase the quality and performance.

1.1 Develop a set of own responsibilities and performance objectives
Working as a home care assistant, I have critical responsibility to provide personalised care to ill
and disabled people such as preparation, grooming, supporting, etc. I am responsible to take care
of those people that are not able to serve their living (Ayalon, et. al. 2015). I need to help patients
for toilet, bed, meals, laundry, etc. This job offers me opportunity to follow my dreams of
opening a training school that deals with poverty. I am able to gain experience from current
workplace that can be applied in near future for achieving goals. Mentioned below are set of
skills and responsibility towards work.
Own responsibility
It is a sole responsibility to help disabled in such a manner that they are headed towards self-
dependency. In addition, understanding conditions of the people will help to identify their actual
needs.
It is my duty to empower people to improve their conditions by offering training in the form of
educational classes, lessons, physical activities, etc.
For opening a school I need to understand nature and behaviour of the volunteers that will be
formed as a team to help people to deal with the difficulties (Ayalon and Roziner, 2016).
To bring development in the skills that can be applied in near future that will help to accomplish
my goals and develop in a professional manner.
Performance objectives
For improving my performance at the current place and achieving future goals it is necessary to
develop skills that include:
One of the skills includes communication skills that will help to develop confidence giving
services to the people and work for social welfare of the society. I will try to communicate with
the people are will join classes for finding development in the skills (Gudnadottir et.al. 2017).

Every workplace needs to take different decisions regarding situations of the business. For this, I
will try to learn from senior members that will lead to solve each and every problem of the
people.
I need to understand each and every function of management for organising and managing the
entire resources and leading organisation towards growth. Along with entire management skills I
will be able to meet with needs of the disabled patients (Lim et.al. 2016).
Effective knowledge of IT skills and presentation skills that will help me to communicate with
the investors and present my plan for improving standard of living of the people. I can take help
of social media to emerge as a public speaker by listening to audios and videos (Moss, 2017).
With development in such skills will develop as a good speaker that will help me to perform
effectively at the workplace and follow dreams of launching a school.

1.3 Recommendations for improvement
There are different kinds of employees that have different taste and culture that is influencing
mainly on diversity of the workplace and culture. It is necessary to understand the needs of the
services users and bring improvement in the workplace. For this, I will try to develop knowledge
regarding analysing the nature of the members that will insist me to overcome all the threats and
opportunities that can be faced from workplace (Vermeir et.al. 2015). I will try to use my
capabilities that will be gained with the help of available resources and knowledge.
I need to discover motivated, confident and encouraged people for my professional development.
Working with such people will help me to adopt the concept of self-learning and those will help
me to learn new things and skills that can help me to deliver effective performance. In addition to
this, I will take active participation in attending seminars and conferences that will help to
develop my communication skills and will provide a positive environment in the workplace.
With rising technology, I can make effective use of social media and networks such as Facebook
and Linkedin to analyse the trend that is followed in the market. This will help to share
information from one medium location to other. Asking questions on social media will help to
ask for suggestions to increase efficiency at the workplace. Moreover, articles and books can
help to learn about different subjects on the different subject matter (Maslach and Leiter, 2017).
However, self-learning from surroundings can help me to learn and bring innovation and
creativity in achieving desired goals. However, this will help to improve the weaknesses and
bringing improvement in such areas that can help to achieve end goals.

1.4 Use of motivational techniques to improve quality of performance
Quality in performances depends upon act and efforts of the employees that is helping in
organisational growth. There are different theories that can be aligned with adding quality to
improve the performances of the workplace. Some of the theories are:
Vroom’s theory:
This theory clarifies that employees can be motivated with producing the level of efforts
observed at the workplace. This includes forming relationships among members and
performances revealed by the employees reveal the actual amount of results. This theory is
interlinked with efforts, performances, and rewards. It includes rewards that can be either
negative or positive. Employees are sometimes working with the confusion that the rewards
obtained as not as per the work performance (Miner, 2015). It is responsibility of management of
the workplace to understand the actual work performance of the employees and similarly offer
rewards to them. Therefore, rewards in the workplace can be offered in the form of both financial
and non-financial reward that will add to improve the quality and performances.
With this theory, I am able to understand that this theory is only based on motivation of
employees that will increase the quality of performances. This theory can be applied in any of
the workplaces that drives any of the individual towards positive outcomes.

McGregor X and Y theories
This theory is one of theory of human motivation and management. This theory contains set of
two assumptions that depends on workers motivation. Theory X pays attention towards strict
supervision, rewards and penalties. Theory Y includes increasing the worker job satisfaction and
encourages efficiency without any of the direct supervisions. It includes enhancing to motivation
of the employees to the extent of offering power, success and positive relationships

2.1 & 4.1 Developing solutions to work based problems. Evaluate tools and methods for
developing solutions to problems
Every workplace faces suitable problems that occur in the form of uncertainties that hinder
individual to achieve suitable task. Prior to developing solutions to problems, it is necessary to
identify the problems with following suitable steps that include:
A strategic target that are needed to achieve within the workplace are recognised with help of
taking feedbacks among the members and management is responsible to deal with the problems.
Another step includes identifying the root cause of the problem. Problems within the current
workplace can be included in the form of insecurity among the patients, improper use of
technology, negative feedbacks from service users, etc (Savery, 2015).
However, problem analysed needed to be solved with shorter period of time as it can cause major
influence in future. For example, brainstorming and group discussions can be adopted for finding
among the best solutions and implementing within the workplace.
Evaluating the best solutions and selecting the best for the problems. It need to continuously
monitor the plan and evaluating the plan for strategic actions (Walker et.al. 2015).
It is necessary for the management to identify that solution to problem is accepted by all the
members and must not cause any of the trouble in future.
Current problem of working as a home care assistant is an increase in workload, no personal
interaction among the workers and lack in monitoring and supervision of the workers is causing
harmful impact on health and safety conditions of the people. It is putting pressure of workforce
to pay extra attention and work for long hours that can cause dissatisfaction among workers.
Solution to problems of workplace
For improving this problem, it is necessary for Healthcare centre to develop progression plans
that will help to maintain motivation among the employees. However, workload need to divided
among all the team members equally that will reduce the workload and quality can be generated
for a longer period of time. In addition, workplace needs to organise training and development
