INTRODUCTION
Employability skills are the set of skills and behavior which is very important for any job (Collet
et al., 2015). It allows the manager to communicate with his subordinates and help him to solve
problems. In this assignment, we would discuss the responsibilities and performance of the
manager of Travelodge and how the interpersonal and transferable skills can be developed.
This report will help to understand the dynamics of working with others and how to develop
strategies to solve the problems.

The travel and tourism sector requires brief knowledge and the skills to execute the activities
and to perform all the functions. As a manager of Travelodge, it requires to motivate and
inspire his team to get the best from them. There are certain responsibilities and performance
objectives which are required to perform and that have been discussed below:
Job Responsibility
Job responsibility refers to the purpose, duties, and responsibilities of a job which is needed to
be performed for the better result and it also purpose and requirements of the job in different
working conditions (Peters, 2015). Being a manager it is necessary to know the responsibilities
of the job and lead the team in the direction of the accomplishment of goals by inspiring and
recognizing the hidden talent of the employees.
Mutual Responsibility
Mutual responsibility is the understanding of the responsibility for the growth and
development of the organization (Eijkelenboom and Vostroknutov, 2016). It is the duty of the
manager to motivate the employees and make them understand about their responsibilities for
their job. The manager of Travelodge always inspire and motivate his team and that is the
responsibility of all of us for doing the best what we are having and shares the responsibility for
the development of the organization.
Self-Responsibility
It is very important to know own responsibilities that must be possessed by all and all tasks
needs to perform. A person who is self-responsible can do a better job than others (Frericks,
2014). And to being a manager it is very important to be self-responsible because it is the
responsibility of subordinates to coordinate with all subordinates.

It is one of the most important tasks of the manager to ensure safety at the workplace because
if the employees will not feel safe then they would not be able to do their best. A safe
workplace allows the employees to work more comfortably without any concern which directly
influences the productivity of the organization.
Customer Satisfaction
The success of any business depends upon the customers as they are considered as the king of
the market (Pizam et al., 2016). The profit, image, and status of any business depend upon its

It is necessary for a manager to have good communication with the teammates in order to
achieve the objectives of an organization (Cornelissen and Cornelissen, 2017). If the staff
members are not aware of the objectives which are needed to be achieved then it would
become impossible for the manager to reach the target. The manager of Travelodge
communicates all the objectives with his staff as it makes more clear and easy to achieve the
targets.
Providing on job training:
On-job training should be provided to the employees for enhancing the proficiency of the work.
It helps to get a better workforce and enhance the skills of the employees which increase the
productivity of an organization. The Travelodge invest more in the training of its employees to
retain them and to get the best from them.
Teamwork spirit:
A single person cannot do work all alone every organization needs an effective team for the
attainment of the goals and objectives of the organization. An enthusiastic team who is ready to

There is a need of improvement in the organization which must be considered for the long term
development and growth. There are certain key factors that are needed to develop for the
improvement of the organization has been discussed in this section which are:
Communication
Communication is very important and the continuous process of an organization (Ruesch et al.,
2017). Without proper communication, no organization can run successfully as it is the most
important part of the organization. It is very necessary to communicate the objectives,
planning, and strategies well with the employees for the attainment of the common goals and
objectives of an organization (Peters, 2015).
Compensation package – motivation
If the employees are happy with the salary and are satisfied with that then they can do a better
job. The manager needs to compensate the employees as per their monetary and non-
monetary needs. Travelodge need to improve the incentive plan and package for improving the
