TASK 2
P2.1 SOLUTIONS TO WORK BASED PROBLEMS
As a training manager at Travelodge hotel, I realize some problems within the hotel such as
staff turnover, improper communication, lack of motivation, no job satisfaction etc. the
main issues were improper communication as objectives thoughts are not reaching to the
employees and staff turnover due to lack of motivation and job dissatisfaction.
To work on the problems Travelodge hotel can do some activities which involve first
priority which is identifying and source of the problems (Kremer and Hammond, 2013).
Following activities are practised for sort out the work bases problems:
Customer participation
Travelodge hotel should give chance to their customers to involve in the Travelodge
activity as they are the consumers who use hotel's services so they know the best where
the hotel lacks and where it needs to improve its services. As customer helps in to identify
the problems they also help in sorting out the problems, customer participation is a good
idea for solutions to work-based problems.
Verbal and non-verbal communication
Verbal as well as non-verbal communication both is important in the hotel business . The
most common and obvious solution for all the problems is communication. Good
communication is required to understand the problems of employees as well as helps to
understand the goals clearly (Levi, 2015).
Motivational process
The main reason for staff turnover is lack of motivation and job dissatisfaction, in both
cases, the company loses its precious employees. As a training manager of Travelodge
hotel, I should motivate my staff time to time and fulfil their needs which give them the
satisfaction of working in Travelodge also it helps in staff retention.
Co-worker’s feedback
This process throws the light on the actual problems staff is facing in their work as they
know the problems very well so its a good idea to know the problems directly from them
(Main, 2012). As a training manager of Travelodge hotel, I can receive feedbacks through
conducting surveys and questionnaires.
