INTRODUCTION
Employability skills can be defined as the skills required by an individual to perform their
roles and responsibilities in systematic manner at workplace. It is the skills which are required to
be developed by an individual in order to explore as well as capture employment opportunities.
Employability skills can also be referred to as set of an essential skill which includes
development of knowledge base, mind-set and expertise which is very much crucial in order to
achieve success in career. The tops employability skills which are need to be developed by an
individual in order to get job these are communication, planning, time management, teamwork
and also professional qualifications. In addition to this, soft skills are also very much essential in
order to get success at workplace. It is the employability skill set which enable an individual to
get higher position within an organisation. Self-management is considered to be as an essential
factor which assist an individual in development of employability skills.
The report will have focus on identification of an individual roles as well as
responsibilities and performance objectives in Context of Travelodge hotel. It is basically a
private limited company operating business in hospitality sector. Study will emphasize on
analysing the team dynamics.

1.1 Own roles and responsibilities in Hotel.
As a manager in Travelodge hotel , I am responsible for recording of business
transactions for hotel and also administrating accounting department . In addition to this, I am
also responsible for budgeting as well as financial management. MY role in Travelodge is to
plan, direct and organise all accounting activities. I am responsible for preparing the daily work
schedule for employees in accounting department (Jackson and Oliver, 2018.). My role is to deal
investment activities, and develop plans and strategies for the long-term financial goals of
organization. In addition to this, my duty is to make sure that auditing of financial records are
done on time. I am also responsible for making sure that all the laws and accounting standards
or regulations are being followed. I am also responsible for taking investment and other financial
decisions for an enterprise.
My performance objective in context of manager in Travelodge hotel is to help an
organisation in improving financial performance within six months.

Goals should be set for performing various functions. These goals must be practical. This
strategy will help to achieve targeted objectives. For setting the goals, manager of Travelodge
can prepare a list on monthly, weekly basis.
Review daily progress-
Manager of Travelodge can use a time management software for reviewing the daily
progress of various activities. Avoid multitasking activities on a particular time for improving the
productivity of work.
Limited multitasking-
Multitasking should not be done on daily basis. If various activities are undertaken at the
same time otherwise, nothing can be achieved. A list should be prepared for undertaking
important activities of Travelodge first.
Reduce the interruptions-
To improve the productivity of work, determine those activities that may interrupt while
performing important tasks of the hotel. Avoiding the interruptive activities will help in effective
performance of important activities. For example- Manager should not regularly check e mails
while performing an important task like attending a meeting.
Focus on important activities-
Before starting any new activity, Manager of the hotel should identify the tasks that will
impact the performance of the team or impact the project undertaken in a positive manner.
Delegate the task-
Manager should delegate less important tasks because it will help to save the time for
focussing on important activities of the hotel. This will help to effective completion of various
important task and also motivate the workers of the hotel.
