1.2 Evaluate own effectiveness against defined objectives
Own Effectiveness define the self-made goals or objectives in the organization which maybe
personal for the employee and specified in the nature. Own effectiveness is the key to achieve
the objective which is defined by the organization’s management. An employee set their own
standard which he/she want to achieve that standard is count as self-made objective towards the
work or operation. Management is define the goals and the target for the employee so can they
evaluate the performance of the employee which make the right appraisal system ion the
organization. In a tourist organization objective is predefined by the organization which
employee needs to be achieve.
Employee is work with their own principle which they want to make straight for long-term time
period.in other side defined goals is developed by the organizational management which make
healthy atmosphere for the organization. Own effectiveness reflect as a process of determining
own standard which they self-want to convert into performance so can they achieve maximum
satisfaction for the process or operations (Alharthy, et. al., 2017).
Own effectiveness is personal objective fulfilment for the employee on that other hand
defined objective is the thing which management want you to achieve that particular
target.
Own effectiveness is show how an individual employee work when they don’t have any
trigger forces or define objective is the thing which drive employee to achieve that
specific goals.
Objective is define by the organization which had the external force which drive
employee toward work or operations in other hand employee work for his own
satisfaction which make them effective in operations.
It clearly define that both of the concept is interlinked with each other and give a support
for the balanced performance in work environment.

Objective define by the organisation’s management is clearly observe by the employee
and if they make that objectives for their own effectiveness on work it make a
coordinated growth of employee along with the organization.
As the objective is defined management is work to relate that objective with the
effectiveness of the employee which can be profitable or effective tool to achieve
coordinate growth in organisation.
Organisation can give opportunity to the employee so can they set their own goal for their
effectiveness and maintain the work plan which can be analysis by the management.

1.3 Make recommendations for improvement
Management and employees are correlated with each other and try to develop the combined goal
which is related or compensate each other goals or objective. Management continuously work to
get involvement in the process so can they developed the effective work environment for the
employee which make them to work and grow in the operation. Although it can be identified that
management and employee is going on parallel way for the define objective which can make
them work along with the organisation that can be make some sort of conflict in the work
process.
As per my opinion management should follow management by objective strategy which
can help them to coordinate employees on their performance and employee easily linked
their efficiency with define objective.
As the carnival corporation & PLC is focus on listening and acting on the idea given by
the employee is a good tool which make effectiveness of employee in the goal which is
defined by management (Carnival, 2017).
As the tourism industry face major high labour turnover rate which show that staff is not
happy in stay in tourism industry so management should focus on developing the skills
in employee and make them involve in the process which can lead them to stay in
organisation(Windsor, 2017).
For the effectiveness of the employee Management make support to employee and make
opportunity to grow in the organisation which can make satisfaction in the mind of the
employee.
Tourism industry is so much dynamic in the nature which makes them much complex for
defining the goals and objective to the organisation. Management make the employee
being suggestive and responsible for making their define objective in the performance
which can be linked with main objective of organisation.

1.4 Review how motivational techniques can be used to improve quality of performance
In tourism industry people are work from different taste and area which work under a same
organisation. It make complex for the management to get involvement of the people towards the
define objective of the organisation. Each employee had their own goals or objectives towards
organisation. A united different goal in a single objective is a difficult task for the organisation
management. A motivational technique is a tool which can help management for effective work
in the organisation.
Individual Recognition: - Individual recognition is the major motivation tool in any of
the industry. As to concern with tourism industry people are more vibrant in the nature so
they need to be recognised for their potentials work in the organisation so each employee
treat as different way of behaviour of individual (theguardian, 2016).

performance in the work environment. Tourism industries have the mind-set of
employees where they want to get more incentive for the work done by them so it can be
a better option for the quality improvement.
Employee lead the game:- Individual need to be handles thing on their own
effectiveness which make them more effective in the work. Employee get involved in the
operation if he felt that this work is belong to be so management should give opportunity
to the tour coordinator so can they lead the tour.
Gilbert’s BEM model:- BEM model help leaders to evaluate the optimum level of the
employee and self-check analysis which can be motivated employee by the self-check
behaviour(Barbosa-McCoy, 2017).

This can be concluded from the above report about the recommendation on improving the
performance at the work place. For this organization have also used motivational techniques

Task 2
Introduction
In an organization, communication is an important tool to make relations better. Below report
will talk about various problems along with their solution which occurs in an organization.
2.1 Develop solutions to work-based problems.
As a tour coordinator in Carnival Corporation, my responsibilities are not only limited to just
create strategies for tour’s span but also to manage time so that not a single promised destination
is missed. There are several situations where the tour members are not satisfied due to the
eccentric destination choices; a separate strategy has to be framed in order to make the special
demanding customers satisfied.
There are some work-based problems which are frequent, from my perspective along with the
solutions to overcome these problems and attain satisfactory results:
Excursion destinations: Choosing a destination is hard to decide for a tour coordinator
as various minds have various tastes which leave the person in a chaotic situation while
planning the whole excursion. Some differences reside in the variety of age groups,
which are place priorities, food options and adventure sports (if any). To overcome this
difficulty a brief study of the main destination (continent, country or group of islands);
factorising the whole place in a simple manner based on the divisions done on the basis
preferences of people of different age groups. Generally every family has more than one
child, hence, it would be preferable to include one destination which is a fantasy place for
kids and the parents should feel safe in leaving their kids alone. Then for newly-weds and
couples, places with good landscapes and cold weather would be a good choice. The
main factor which should be looked upon is that the weather forecasts related to those
places should be checked properly so that the forth-coming complications can be
eliminated beforehand. If the destination is an island then sea sports must be included in
order to let people enjoy their escape completely.

Time management: It is important for the tour coordinator to decide the time durations
of the halts as well as the visiting time for any sight must be decided prior to tour as if
any place is missed or for example; a family misses the bus which takes people to a zoo
at a respective island near Africa because of their kids, then the tour coordinator makes it
his own responsibility to arrange transportation for the family to reach back to the hotel;
now this process had not been executed if the time given to return to bus would have
been half an hour early. Time management for the destinations should be decided upon
the interests shown by the people once the tour starts.
Safekeeping responsibility: It is my primary responsibility to keep a check on the number
of people every time a destination is visited collectively. It has a bad impact on the
brand’s reputation. It happens a few times that people are left behind in trips to sub
destinations; reason can vary but the motive of the coordinator is to wait until that person
boards the transport back.
There were several that I faced while coordinating the tours, the frequent ones are briefed above
rest of the problems are less frequent but as the saying goes, ‘‘The more is the number of minds
the more is the chaos.’’As the number of people is high while coordinating destination holidays
especially on cruises, there is always a need to appoint people as responsible as I, so that the tour
can be managed with the best customer experience on board.
