Potential training options
Various training methods could help develop the existing employees to meet the
requirements to manage the new retail centre. One of the methods include on the job training,
which refers to the training of employee while performing the job (Olsen, 2018). The training
is done at the workplace through the reading of manuals, observation and practice.
Moreover, coaching or mentoring can also develop the employees to work in the new
department. The method refers to the employees receiving training directly from an
experienced employee (Olsen, 2018). The coaching is done by hiring professional coaches
and setting up learning forums between the experienced and inexperienced.
Furthermore, lecturing is also an option for training the employees to take up the role
of management in the new department. Lectures are conducted in a classroom format and
have the advantage of one person passing information to a large group of people (Olsen,
2018).
The CEO’s report
The company requires to select a training method that will give achieve the goal of
developing staff for the retail store. Therefore, the best method is on the job training to ensure
training while the employees continue with the job (Thompson, 2018). Additionally, the
training method prevents time wastage since the employees continue running operations
while training.
The on the job training includes educating employees on how to perform tasks in the
company while still performing the tasks. The training requires the presence of the employee
and trainer at the place of work. Additionally, the training will involve the use of manuals for
the trainees to read to gain knowledge about the task (Thompson, 2018). Other materials
include observation, explanation and practising at the place of work. The trainers go through
the work descriptions in the presence of trainees and stay during task execution to answer any

questions. The trainers give guidelines to ensure each trainee understands how the work is
done. The training motivates the employees due to the hands-on nature of the method. The
personal touch with the trainer at work also motivates the employees to know more about the
job (Planning Function of Management, 2018).
The training to provide include retail management, customer satisfaction and
accounting. The retail management training will impart knowledge on how to run a chain
store efficiently and avoiding the making of losses. The customer satisfaction training assists
in educating the management on how to maintain operations at a level that meets the
customer expectations with the goods and services provided. Finally, the accounting training
will help in the reconciliation of accounts and classifying of various items such as assets,
liabilities and capital (Cole-Ingait, 2018).
The location of training will be at the places of work, which includes the various retail
stores. The trainers will visit the employees selected for training at the places of work. The
training will take place for three hours every day from Monday to Friday. Additionally, the
training will continue for thirty days giving a total of ninety hours to complete the training.
On the other hand, the total training will cost 9000$ since the experts charge 100$ per hour
(Cole-Ingait, 2018).
The monitoring and evaluation of the training will happen through interviewing the
trainees to establish the level of knowledge (Thompson, 2018). The interviews will be
conducted after every training session to ensure that the employees have acquired the
necessary knowledge.
