Employee engagement is a workplace approach resulting in the accurate situations for all
members of a company to offer of their best each day, dedicated to their firm’s goals and values,
encouraged to involve to organisational development, with a developed sense of their own well
being. Employee absenteeism is when an employee of staff is absent from the place of work
during a normal working day (King, Gontarz and Wei, 2020). It can be a frequent lack of
attendance at work without any valid cause. Absenteeism does not consider the occasional no
call no show and instances that cannot be managed and controlled such as illness and car trouble
etc. In term of minimising absenteeism of employees, number of business venture of diverse
sector consider numerous programmes such as workplace parties, learning launches, employee
games, tournaments, competitions special days, training, recognition programs, sports events,
team building activities, bar nights and fundraisers as well as charity days. With the help of all
these kind of programmes and activities, the management of diverse organisations can bring the
workers together so that they can make an effective interaction among them as well as motivate
regarding the work and duties of the company through different programmes which is organised
by it.
For example, training is an effective program which encourage to employees to make their
appropriate contribution in the development of the firm as well as reducing their extent of
absenteeism. This enables them in offering a chance to make development and enhancement in
their skills and knowledge which assist in their career development. Employees engagement
programmes are good in term of decreasing the rate of absenteeism of workforce as when people
of company are involve in programmes like workplace parties, sport events, training, team
building activities and many more then they make adequate interaction with other employees and
appropriately aware with new workers as well as male good relation with them. Also these kinds
of activities motivate them to come to work so that they can learn new things and gain more
knowledge about different aspects (Ozturk and Karatepe, 2019). Fundraisers and charity days are
a great time brings workers together for the common good. Often these causes influence the
manpower so by offering the opportunity to conduct events for cause they are passionate about.
Employment engagement programmes are essential for company as they reduce the rate of

firms.
