LITERATURE REVIEW
What is the concept and importance of employee engagement within an organization?
As per the view of Miller and Miller (2020), employee engagement plays an important
role in an organization as it helps in bringing success and growth in the highly competitive
market. Employee engagement mainly defines the people who are majorly committed to their
work for achieving the predetermined goals and objectives of the business. An organisation that
encourages and supports engagement of employees within the company than it is going to gain
more profits and growth in the competitive business market. Highly engaged employees tends to
be more productive and dedicated as they work with high efficiency and effectiveness for
increased success and profitability in the market (Balwant, Mohammed and Singh, 2019). No
matter how good an employee work jn the company and how pd it performs in the positive
working environment, their engagement level in the business can decrease significantly if they
the employer do not support their interests and needs in their job role. When employees are
happy and motivated to work in the company they are generally more satisfied and engaged
towards taking part in the activities of the business.
What are the issues of employee engagement faced by Sainsbury's within an organization?
As per the view of Bridger (2022), there are several issues that Sainsbury's face because
of increasing employee engagement within the company. Lack of balance in the work life of
employees is the major issue that company face because without proper engagement of
employees on the company the will work with full dedication and motivation and this reduces
their working efficiency to achieve the goals of the business. Recognition and growth is another
issue related to employee engagement that company faces because employee wants to work in a
culture where they feel more engaged and feel valued to work in the company so that they
deliver better and effective results in the competitive market (Santhanam and Srinivas, 2019).
Lack of working direction is also considered as the major issue as it is the main responsibility of
the leaders to guide and assist their employees towards right direction so that work effectively
and efficiently. Lack of important information is another issue that company needs to consider
because this decreases the morale and motivation of employees ass they are not given right
information for carrying on the work in an effective manner.

What are the strategies used by Sainsbury's for employee engagement within an organization?
As per the view of Shin and Hur (2021), there are several strategies that Sainsbury's
adopt in order to improve the engagement of employees for increased productivity and
performance in the highly competitive environment. Keep remote working employees and
distributed teams engaged is considered as the most important strategy that company consider
because it helps in delivering information in a more effective way sol that no disputer and
conflict can occur (Khan and et. al, 2020). Engaging employees in fun activities is also a
important strategy that helps in making them feel more happy and motivated to achieve the
predetermined aims and objectives of the business for increased success and growth.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
It is the systematic procedure which analysed and gather data as per the topic. This section
provides a brief introduction about the type of data which is used to be identify, analysed and
interpret in the research. Research methodology is further divided into various stages which ae
discussed below:
Research philosophy: Research philosophy is of two type that are positivism and
interpretivism. I the existing investigation, researcher will opt for positivism philosophy. The
main motive behind this it will gather quantitative data in more generalised manner which aids in
identify the existing pattern and trends in the social world (Sileyew, 2019).
Research approach: Deductive and inductive are the two research approach. According
to the research topic, investigator will be selecting deductive approach. The advantage to use this
is it will evaluate prevailing hypothesis based on the gathers quantitative data. It will also help in
identifying the impact of poor management tam and lack of motivation on employee
engagement.
Research strategy: There are various kinds of research strategy some of them are survey,
case study, focused group and many other. In the prevailing research, investigator will be
choosing survey strategy. The benefit to use this is mass data can be extracted from the large
volume of population. It will gather quantitative data in less time as well as less cost (Ratnam,
2019).
Research choices: There are two research choice that are quantitative and qualitative, in
the current investigation, researcher will be choosing quantitative method. This is because it will
gather and analyse numerical information which provide more validity and accuracy to the
investigation.
Data collection: There are two data collection method that are primary and secondary
data collection method. In the existing study, investigator will be opting for primary data, this is
because it will gather fresh information which is not used earlier. By this first-hand information
will be gathered by the investigator so that valid information as per the scenario can be acquired.
Data analysis: It has been divided into two forms which are frequency distribution
method and thematic analysis. As per the current investigation frequency distribution method
will be using. The reason is quantitative information can be analysed in simple manner as well in
less cos and time (Ndlovu-Gatsheni, 2019).

Sampling: Probability and non-probability are the two sampling technique. As per the
study, researcher will be selecting probability sampling. In that random sampling method will be
used because it will provide equal opportunity to the participant to get selected. The ample size
will be 30 employee of Sainsbury.
Alternative research methodology
The alternative research method that will be used if the chosen failed is qualitative
research methodology. This is because it will gather non numerical; data which helps in
conducting the investigation in deeper manner. In this data will be collected using interview
(Staron, 2020).
