As per the point of view of Heinz (2022) there are various kinds
of methods adopted by a company to engage their employees like
taking employees survey, uphold core values, recognize top
performers, promote transparency and many others. It is also
analysed that there is a positive impact of employee engagement
to enhance organisational performance. Employee engagement is
the term which define the interest of employees within their job
roles and working for their company to enhance their
productivity. When employees show their interest and participate
in different organisational task then the company will achieve
their aim on time with full efficiency. Hence, companies focus to
gain more employee engagement.
There are various kinds of challenges faced by a banking
company including Bank of India in maintaining their employee
engagement. One of the biggest challenges is different kinds of
needs and wants of employees. It is true that when company
fulfil the needs and wants of their employees then they show
more engagement within their organisation and each employee
have different needs. hence, it is the biggest challenge for the
bank to gain their employee engagement by fulfil their needs.
There are various kinds of strategies which can help the company
to mitigate the challenges. One of the best strategies is to conduct
survey within the company and promote their high performers to
motivate them and motivate others to perform high.

Research objectives-
 To analyse different employee engagement methods
 To identify the impact of employee engagement on performance of UK
banking industry.
 To analyse the challenges faced by Bank of India to engage their employees
within their organisation
 To recommend the strategies to overcome the challenges while maintaining
employee engagement.
The topic is chosen by the researcher because it is most current business issue in today’s world.
Most of the companies including Bank of India face issues and challenges for engaging their
employees. Hence, this research report will examine the impact of employee engagement upon
overall performance of organisation.

Onion model is used to describe the research methodology-
Research philosophy- There are basically two types of research
philosophy, positivism and interpretivism. Positivism is selected by the
researcher to identify the findings of quantitative research. It can
provide reliable data.
Research approach- There are two types of research approach,
inductive and deductive. Deductive research approach is used by the
researcher to analyse the relationship between variables and concepts.
Research strategy- There are various kinds of research strategies like
case study, survey, interview and many others. The following research
will use survey where questionnaire is the main research instrument to

collect first hand data.
Research choice- There are basically three types of research choice,
mono, mixed and multi-mixed. The researcher will use mono method
where only one kind of research method is opted. The researcher will
choose either qualitative or quantitative research in this method and
here researcher choose quantitative method. Mixed and multi-mixed
research are avoided because it consist to choose both research type
qualitative as well as quantitative but here researcher choose only one
which is quantitative.
Time horizon- There are two types of time horizon, cross sectional and
longitudinal. The researcher will use cross sectional because it consist to
complete research within short period of time to ensure relevancy and
validity of data. Longitudinal time horizon consist to consume more
than one year to complete the research.
Data collection and analysis- The researcher will choose primary
research which consist to collect data through first hand. This means
that the data is collected by researcher first time. Questionnaire is the
main tool to collect the preferences of respondents.
Ethical consideration-
 The researcher will use Data Protection Act to secure the
collective data.
 The researcher will make sure to keep confidentiality of data.
 The researcher did not harm physically or mentally to any
respondent.
 Researcher aware the respondent that they are the part of
research and their responses will help the researcher to complete
the research on time.

 Researcher did not harm the environment due to any research
