JOB CONTEXT
Terms of employment means the responsibilities and benefits of a job as agreed upon between
two parties at the time of hiring , normally referred to as Employer and Employee.
These terms usually include the specifications like work hours, dress code, vacation and sick
days, and starting salary.
Employment is of several types, as categorized below:
Permanent or Fixed Term
Apprentices or Trainees
Casual Employees
Contractors and Subcontractors, also known as hired staff
Employment , when the term is considered, it can mean the entire world to a vast bunch of
people. The term can also include options like owning your own business or self employment.

exists only when an employee or individual performs services under certain conditions in return

Work Environment goes hand in hand with many factors like employee motivation, happiness
work productivity , efficiency , etc.
Great workplace generally leads to great results. A great workplace is considered to be one when
the employees connect to the high degree of trust, individuals respect the integrity of their
colleagues and leaders and work together harmoniously to achieve the best results. (Ilo.org,
2019)
Employee motivation is a factor and can be called factors which causes an employee to pursue
work tasks or goals. It is vital for motivated employees to be success of an organization.
Lets share a real time incident from my life. I was a young experienced accountant with solid
references and was looking for work at the age of 24. I had approached a large accounting firm
in another city, as I had already worked for them earlier, 2 years back. I was just hoping of
getting associated with them again.
Well , few rounds of Interviews took place and I was selected for part time job once again. It
was a healthy and familiar atmosphere to work in
The changes I could figure out were that employees had reduced their hours by getting rid of
non-urgent tasks such unnecessary meetings, sharing best practices and delegating work to team
members.
In the part time job, I was asked to work for 28 hours a week unlike my previous full time
employment where I was asked to work for 48 hours a week. Well I was accountable to my
manager for the entire job on day to day basis. (Ssc.govt.nz, 2019)

Accountability at any workplace is the core element for its infinite success. Accountability is
clearly correlated with higher performance of the company as a whole. The organization for
which I worked based on the principles of integrity and commitment.
Another important element in the workplace is the trust among all the co-employees in order to
work as a team or group which also allows to better track the progress of the ongoing projects. I
was also accountable for any activities performed by me and if anything went incorrect, I was
expected to rectify and take the ownership of the same. (Managementhelp.org, 2019)
My company was running with a healthy and comfortable workplace environment as we used to
generally meet all the possibilities required for a healthy workplace, such as communicating and
appreciating workers, employee independence, development and etc.
Last but not the least, we the employees were rewarded with financial compensation along with
the base pay, which definitely works as a good motivator for both employer-employee
relationship .Such reward system enhances the performances of the company in the competitive
world outside.
