INTRODUCTION
Working facilitates them to live independent life as well as provide opportunity to learn
various new things that enhances their skills and competencies. People work to earn money in
order to fulfil their as well as their family needs and requirements such as food, shelter and
clothing. Motivation is defined as the process of initiating, guiding and maintaining goal oriented
behaviour that helps to achieve defined goals and objectives in desirable manner. Motivation
plays important role in enhancing the willingness among employees to perform their work in
beast possible manner and accelerates employees efficiency towards achieving organisational
objectives. In this report factors that motivates employees to work as positive and negative
factors that are experienced by the employees due to their specific job role are mentioned.

Factors which motivate employees to work
There are various factors that in business environment that motivates employees to work
to attain determined goals and objectives in best possible manner. Organisation maintains
effective and positive working environment that influence employees to contribute in achieving
business objectives. Employees engagement as well as commitment towards work facilitates to
organisation attain business objectives with efficiency (Bouncken, and Aslam, 2019).
Organisation develop various policies and strategies to enhance employees motivation level so
they can contribute in business success and development. Some factors that motivates
employees are mentioned below:
Rewards and recognition: Rewards and recognition are the factor that motivates
employees to retain with organisation for long period of time and perform determined operations
in best possible manner. Organisations provides recognition, monitory as well as non-monitory
rewards to employees for their extra work and efficient work that motivates to work harder to
achieve business goals and objectives (Chalmers, 2019). The main objective of providing
rewards to employees is to encourage employees to perform in appropriate manner and promote
their positive behaviour towards work. For example, Marks& Spencer provides rewards and
recognition to employees that motivates them to enhance their productivity, performance as well
as retain for long period with organisation.

Development opportunities: Development opportunity is the important factor that
motivates employees to work in efficient manner. In current business environment, organisations
provide work related training and career development opportunities to employees that encourage
them to work with organisation. Development helps to enhance employees contribution at work
place and encourage them to perform in well defined manner. It helps in retaining and motivating
employees to work in effective manner to accomplish business objectives.
Leadership: Leadership is defined as the process of directing and leading employees to
perform in well defined manner for the purpose of attaining business objectives in best possible
manner. Organisation leaders plays important role in motivating employees. Leaders inspire
them to perform at high level and retain with organisation for longer period of time (Clark,
2017). Leaders maintains effective communication and convey information about what
organisation is expecting from them that motivates employees to perform functions in defined
manner. For example Tesco uses democratic leadership in which it includes employees in
decision-making process that motivates employees to engage with business and retain for longer
period of time.
Work life balance: Effective work life balance is the factor that nurtures employees and
motivates them to work in appropriate manner. Organisations create various policies to maintains
work life balance in employees life and provide them leave and flexible working environment
that motivates them to complete their defined work with efficiency and contribute in attaining
business objectives. Organisations ensure that employees work for reasonable hours and
conducts various activities that promote them well being as well as health.
Effective working environment: Positive and effective working environment motivates
employees to work in well defined manner to attain determined goals and objectives.
Organisations maintain appropriate working environment in which employees can perform their
functions in determined functions. Better working environment enhance employee engagement
rate and maintains proper communication at work place (Collins, and Bobrow, 2017).

Employee experience in very important for business growth and success. As employees
experience is associated with their job satisfaction that lead business towards attaining the
objective of higher profitability and maintains better positioning in market place. Organisation
identifies the factors that enhance employees experiences as well as develop policies to mitigate
factors that lead employees towards negative experience from job role in order to increase
effectiveness and efficiency of business (Mattioli, Walters, and Cannon, 2018). There are
various factors that affect employees overall experience form their specific job role positively
and negatively. Some factors that impact employees experience are mentioned below:
Positive factors employees experience as a result of their job roles
Relationship with co-workers and supervisors: Relationship of employees with their co-
workers and supervisors plays important role in enhancing employees positive experience with
their defined job roles. If superiors are supportive and corporative them employees perform
determined task with full efficiency as well as retain with organisation long period of time.
Effective managers praise employees for their accomplishment and enhance employees
participation in decisions related to job that increase employees job satisfaction.
Flexible working environment: Flexible working environment that is conductive for the
growth and development of employees creates positive impact on employees experience.
Organisation provides effective working condition and clear communication that facilitates
employees to perform their defined task in best possible manner (Pathike, O'Brien, and Hunter,
2019). For example Tesco maintains proper working environment at workplace that provides
flexible working hours as well as open communication to employees which enhances their
overall experience in specific job role.
Appreciation policies: It is the most effective factor that enhances employees experience
related to job their job roles. If an organisation has appropriate policies and strategies related to
appreciation motivates employees to retain with organisation for longer period of time. If

goals and objectives.
Negative factors employees experience as a result of their job roles
Limited career growth: Limited career growth and development opportunities in business
leads employees towards dissatisfaction towards their defined job role and position. If there are
no proper development opportunities for employees, it reduce their working performance,
retention rate and productivity.
Poor management: Management is most important for the running business in well
defined manner and attain determined objectives. As organisational managers are responsible for
motivating, leading and controlling employees to move them towards achieving common
objectives (Pirzadeh and Lingard, 2017). Poor management a work place or in defined job role
lead employees towards job dissatisfaction and impacts negatively on employees experience.
Inappropriate compensation and unsupportive superiors: Inappropriate compensation is
the factor that impacts on employees experience with specific job role and lead them towards job
dissatisfaction. If employees do not get appropriate compensation according to their work
demotivate them and reduce working efficiency as well.
Lack of interest: If employees have no interest in their defined job roles and related work
then it demotivate as well as reduce their working efficiency. As most of employees keep to
perform hob duties that is engaging as well as challenging. Lack of creativity is also the factor
that lead employees towards dissatisfaction from their defined job role as well as impacts on
their overall experience with organisation.
These all are the factors that impacts experience of employees related to their job n
positive as well as negative manner. Organisation should analyse both factors and formulate

As per the above report, it can be concluded that people are work to fulfil their
requirement, earn livelihood and to be self-independent. Motivation inspires and and lead them
towards performing functions in well-defined manner. There are various factors such as effective
compensation, career growth and development opportunities, organisational working
environment and recognition at work place that motivates employees to work in efficient
manner. In business various positive as well as negative factors that influences overall working
experiences with their defined job role. Organisation should analyse them and develop strategies
to mitigate negative impacts that help in improving employees performance and productivity.
