This Master's thesis, submitted to Covenant University, explores the effect of employee motivation on organizational productivity, specifically focusing on May & Baker Plc in Ota, Nigeria. The research, conducted by Ajalie Stanley Nwannebuife, investigates the impact of both intrinsic and extrinsic motivational factors on employee performance and overall productivity. The study employs a descriptive and causal research design, utilizing a survey method with a sample size of 217 employees. Findings reveal a significant positive relationship between employee motivation and productivity, with extrinsic factors appearing to have a more substantial influence. The research concludes with recommendations for management to prioritize employee motivation strategies to enhance performance and suggests further research in other sectors. The thesis includes detailed analysis of data, literature review, and discussion of findings, contributing to the understanding of motivation's role in organizational success within the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
