Introduction
The working of people is culture of organization that should be adopt by individual for the
purpose of managing and running a business. In each organization managing people is important
aspects which is used by business concern for running their business and attaining the competitive
advantage (Mitchell, Schuster and Jin, 2020). The present report is based on why people work and
different motivating factors that are used to influence the people and managing the all functions
and activities. This report also highlights on positive and negative factors that used to performing
specific roles.
What does Motivation Mean?
Motivation is the process of initiates, guiding, and maintaining the goals by getting7
the work done from all employees who works at the workplace. This is important for man
individual to have proper understanding and knowledge about how their employees will be
happy and how they can work in an organization. When number of employees works in
organization it is responsibility of managers to motivate, inspire and satisfy their employees
so they can work effectively and completes the goals. This involves biological, social,
cognitive, and emotional forces which are important to run a business and developing the
activities. There are different types of motivation such Maslow’s hierarchy, extrinsic, and
intrinsic. The Maslow theory is categorized in to psychological, safety, love and belongings,
self-actualization. In psychological management fill the basic needs of their employees such
as air, food, water, sleep. The employees get personal security, employment, and resources by
working under safety needs. The employees get friendship, intimacy, and sense of connection
under love and belonging needs. In Esteem needs employees is expected to get self esteem,
respect, status, and recognition that make happy. In self-actualization employees desire to
become the most while working which motivate them to work more effectively (Backfisch
and et.al., 2020).
Intrinsic motivation can be explained as process of doing an activity for inherent
satisfaction instead of some separable consequences. This fills the physical and social needs of
their employees who works at the workplace which can help to develop the organizational
performance. The another is extrinsic motivation that relates to reward driven behavior. In this,
management should be provide the rewards or punishment to their staff that increase the
motivation and develop the business activities.
