Employee motivation is one of the central problems for all the leaders and managers. The
motivated employees are essential criteria for changing workplaces and act as a need for survival
as they help in increasing the productivity. Employees are considered as the best assets of the
organization and hence must be motivated from time to time.
There are various factors motivating the employees like money, security, training, discipline,
recognition, etc. A group of people further place emphasis on other factors like personal
expression, integrity, values and even intellectual challenge as the motivating factors. The most
common motivating factors include job security, Sympathetic help with personal problems, good
working conditions, promotions and growth in the organization, personal loyalty to employees,
tactful discipline, and feeling of being in on things. (Lindner, J. R., 1998).
Personally, the only method of motivating an employee (such as me) is to present him with
challenging work. This ascertains a position of responsibility towards the employee. It is
important to challenge all the employees so as to allow them to help the organization achieve all
the goals and experience an increase in the productivity of the firm. Therefore, the managers,
leaders and the whole organization should teach their employees regarding the setting, pursuing
and finally achieving the desired goals. This method will help the employee to attain a focus
leading to ignite a drive in the employee to achieve higher goals. This is the best method of
making the employees feel empowered. Along with this, the employees in the workforce must be
introduced towards various reward and recognition program and related benefits.
