Introduction
Hyatt Regency Dubai is an infamous hospitality industry of UAE which provides hospitality
services to their customers. It is a luxury five star hotel which is located in UAE, Deira
Corniche in Dubai. It is the very first among the Hyatt Hotel in the United Arab Emirates and has
414 rooms with the Galleria Residence with an additional complex of 370 apartments.
The chain of hotels are seen to employ an efficient and helpful staff and the company focuses on
the quality of their employees. It utilizes various techniques and reward systems for motivating
their employee so as to increase the productivity of the organization.
Purpose of Interview
The aim of the interview being conducted is to
1. Identification the staff reward system in the Hyatt Regency Dubai among its employee
and how they are seen to perceive it.
2. Identification of the motivation among the employees.
3. Identification of how the reward system is influencing their work choices.
Procedure of Interview
Various employees of Hyatt Regency hotel were contacted using Twitter and Facebook. The
respondents who agreed to work for the research paper were chosen. 50 out of 100 approached
respondents were selected and the interview was semi-structured in manner. The interview lasted
for 30 minutes per respondents.

Findings
Majority of the employees were associated with the hotel for more than five years and
therefore they reflected high satisfaction among the employees. The staff seemed happy and
around 38 claimed to stick to their job for a long period of time. The employees states that
various types of incentives and monetary rewards along with prizes, motivation in the form
of recognition, prizes, and appraisals are common in the organization. The organization is
effective but a bias is seen when the older employees come into role play. The employee
seemed satisfied with the reward system and accepted an efficient motivation and reward

management in the company, apart from differentiating among the older and new employees.
The employees stated that the older employees were given preference in every aspect as
compared to the new employee irrespective of the talent or intelligent decision-making
ability. The employees agreed to having motivated from the monetary and financial help and
had less motivating managers as they also seemed to prefer older employees.
The employees told that they valued recognition and do not receive any when compared with
their seniors. 90 percent of the responses included that a fair reward system irrespective of
age and experience must be implemented in the hotel system.
Conclusion
The hotel is trying to offer the best services and benefits to its employees but has one critical
issues of preferring older employees as compared to the new ones. Therefore, the hotel must
reinvent their motivation and reward system so as to put their focus on the young energy in
their workforce.
