Motivation Tools and Tactics
I am considering my work experience to describe several issues regarding employee
engagement and motivation. It is difficult for the HR manager to understand the different needs
of different individuals and motivate every one accordingly. I felt demotivated during work time
when management doesn’t value my opinion or idea. I would like to design a program through
which my employees feel valued and take themselves as the asset of the organization. For that, I
will promote transparency, conduct forums, and meeting where employees can share their ideas
openly and will appreciate employees for their big and small efforts through incentives and
rewards. This will help to encourage employees to participate and share ideas and they feel
valued as they think the organization is engaging them in decisions of the organization (Mitchell,
2017).
On the other side, for ensuring a high-performance work system I suggest that the focus
should be on decentralized decision making. This will develop an open culture and ensure a high
level of innovation in the organization (Bratton, & Gold, 2017). Furthermore, creating teams and
effective self-managed teams leads to effectiveness in the work system (Shin & Konrad, 2017). It
is also suggested that a high level of a compensation system should help an organization to
increase employee engagement and awareness. In a nutshell, it can be said that employee stays
motivated when they feel valued and to motivate and engage them it is important to conduct
meeting one on one with employees, and appreciate them by providing rewards and
compensation and for developing high-performance work system it is suggested that
decentralization decision making should be followed.
