Background
Employee has been considered as the important part that develops the organizational
productivity. In the recent area, employees are treated as valuable asset of business because
without them company cannot meet its goal. Employee motivation turned out to major concern
in order to have increase in profit along with customer satisfaction. Companies try to obtain
achievement of goals and objective by providing employee to various award session in order to
have proper training and development which has been considered as the main assets of required
organization. The motivation process is identified as the process through which companies make
its workers positive and ensure that they work hard in business and contribute in obtaining
business goal. This is turning out to be business strategy because this helps in retaining talent and
managing business operations in significant manner.
There are many companies where people feel over burden because of high workload in such
condition they fail to pay close attention over business activities which create problem for the
companies in managing competition and sustain in market for longer duration. Motivated
workforce aids in getting innovative ideas and handling business operations in significant
manner. If people are not happy with culture, then it may make them negative and they may
think to leave job soon. Motivated staff do not resist and they support the firm in every
condition. Productivity of the firm is highly depended upon the employee firm has. If workers
are paying attention on business activities then firm can gain competitive advantage and can keep
its consumers satisfied towards business unit
Research aim and problem statement
Problem statement
Recently staff turnover has become the major problem for Toyota, people do not like to stay in
firm for longer duration because of high work pressure and poor incentives. This discourage
people and they think to join other firm. By this way they fail to paying attention on business
which affect the operations of the organisation to great extent. This has become the major
problem in business unit hence there is requirement to motivate staff so that people like to work
hard and support management. This thing can help the firm in generating more profit in the firm
and minimising the operational errors. The company is trying to have the major focus on the
development to full potentiality in order to have proper development with high quality with

minimum risk. So that the company can pay major attention to customer in providing satisfaction
and generation of profit and revenue of the government. The company do surveys, analysis of
the findings, and they come up with the solutions and actions toward the survey questions. But,
unfortunately, it is not a successful process and usually they don’t get the expected outcome.
Competition is high hence firms have to ensure to improve its production ability so that it can
sustain in market for longer duration, but if enterprise is unable to manage productivity to meet
demand then kit may create problem for all business. Employee motivation ca n help companies
in improving the staff retention and productivity at workplace.

To analyse the relationship between employee motivation and organization productivity-
a case study on Toyota.

To evaluate the importance of employee motivation in organization performance.
To study the impact of various approaches of employee motivation on Toyota
productivity.
To investigate the current motivation practices influencing employee performer.
To evaluate different challenges faced by organization in motivating employees.

Rationale
The topics have been chosen as it has turned out to be important for the development of
the organization. This is interest area to research because employee motivation has become the
major problem in many companies. Apart from this, researcher has studies post graduation in
human resource management hence individual has better knowledge about this field. In addition,
many car companies are facing issue related to productivity, sometimes they fail to get skilled
people and sometimes fail to manage or retain talent. Hence this is a burning issues which needs
to be study.

Theme 1 Motivation Theories
Motivation research has a long history of considering employee motives and needs. As
per the views of Fiaz, M.and Saqib, (2017) employee performance has been described as the
collaborative function of development and ability for there compilation of task. The author also
stated that the manger have the continuous motivation of employee in orders to have their proper
development as belonging to their ability. On the other hand the Fiaz, M.and Saqib, (2017)
contradicts that the there is set of internal and external forces of motivation as the set of internal
and external forces that initiate work related behaviour, and determine its form, direction,
intensity, and duration. Moreover, there is they need well-defined motivation which enforce the
employee to move towards individual goal achievement along with organizational development
with inspiration in order to have proper acknowledgement and processing of task. .Work
motivation is a middle range concept that deals only with events and phenomena related to
people in a work context. There are various theories of motivation that will help in development
which have proper establishment of relationship between motivation and organisation
performance.
There theories of motivation have been distributed between the content theory and
process theory. As per the view of Fiaz, M.and Saqib, (2017) the content theory is having the
consideration with indemnification of relative strengths and goals in order to have proper
satisfaction of the customers needs. The author also stated that there are main theories Maslow
hierarchy needs; Herzberg’s two factor theory and McClellan d's achievement motivation theory.
On the other hand contradict that the there is major understanding of process theory which are
paying emphasis on process of motivation. The author also started that these theories have major
focus on dynamic variables which make up motivation and with how behaviour is initiated,
directed and sustained. For better understanding the examples of the process theories are
expectancy based models, Equity theory and the attribution one.

as per the view of Fiaz, M.and Saqib, (2017) it is important for manger and leaders to have
proper understandability in order to have proper study of worker at both level that is
organizational and individual one. On the other hand the Mackey and Gass, (2015) contradicts
that the manger and leaders should come up with adequate measure in order to have proper
motivation of employees as the single measures will not be possible to have the application on

in case of Maslow there basic needs are identification as per views of an employee which is very
domination starting stage of careers. On the other hand the Mackey and Gass, (2015)
contradicts that the manger should take the advantage of corporates culture and employee talents
in order to have strengthening of team work in more effective manner. According to views of
Kumar, (2019 )employee engagement is the next phases of motivation. The author also added
that with increase in level of motivation, the employee will already make development of
organizational performance by having increase in employee engagement which contribute in
development of organizational productive at better extents. On the other hand the Fiaz, M.and
Saqib, (2017) t contradicts the with having the proper application of motivation, the company
mainly losses its flexibility and vision. The author also stated that the company have the loss in
considering the management committees among the competitors. As per the views of
Fernet and et.al., (2015 )here is tendency of development of narrow mindless and sectionalism
which can be indention the basic emergence. The motivated employee have the capability to
have acceptability to adapt rapid chasing business environment. As the Bresler and Stake,(2017.)
contradicts taught employee mostly have loss in their morale along with lack of commitment
and empowering leadership and team spirit. The author added that the motivated employee have
the impact of the companies bottom line and workplace management with interest of proper
interaction. On the other hand the employee who have having lack of motivation will s
completely vulnerable to both internal and external challenges because its employees are not
going the extra mile to maintain the organization's stability. An unstable organization ultimately
underperforms. Work motivation is a middle range concept that deals only with events and

and the employees are motivated in the form of the bonus and promotion techniques which
would increase the confidence of the employees which are working in the company. As per the
author the lack of the confidence in the employees is demotivating the employees and the
employee are demotivated while performing the work. The issues of the employees of the
company would be mismanaged and the company would also employees of the company would
feel demotivated.
