assigned role and responsibilities (Gebbels, Pantelidis and Goss-Turner, 2020). If the employee
feel that the outcome received is equivivalent to the input employee is putting at the job role than
this would positively contribute to the motivation level of employee at work place. Hospitality
sector offer challenging situation to the employee as the working hours are not certain in the

Research Rationale
Professional do believe that motivation play very significant role in hospitality sector to
inspire the employees to deliver productive business transactions. After the covid 19 pandemic
hospitality sector is one of most challenged sector on which pandemic created its negative
impact. The spread of virus could also influence the productivity of the employee in the sector.
Further, long working hours challenge the employee at work place to deliver the optimum level
of productivity possible (Olugbade and Karatepe, 2019). Challenging working condition and
long working hours require the management to motivate constantly the work force to provide
productive operations. IN the current situation this research about the employee motivation is
required. Hospitality sector always require a comprehensive research to motivate the work force.
Further, employee turnover could also go high after the covid pandemic arises in hospitality
sector that could also motivate to deliver this study.

place in the hospitality sector. All techniques are specifies that can contribute in the motivation
level of the employee at workplace. The study also give an emphasis over the significance of the

Literature Review
As per the views given by Ruiz-Palomo, León-Gómez and García-Lopera (2020), is such
that employee motivation is meant by the enthusiasm, energy level, commitment and the
creativity human resource contribute at the organisation level. The concept of employee

motivation is precisely understood as how engaged employee of the organisation are at
workplace. Motivation are further segregated into two types one is intrinsic motivation and the
other one is extrinsic motivation. The intrinsic motivation is like an employee is motivated from
within. Intrinsic motivation create an inspiration for employee to work hard jut by within the
mindset of employee. ON the other side extrinsic motivation is all about motivating the
workforce by creating some initiative and following some practice.
The criticism has established by Grobelna (2018), is that motivation level of employee
cannot be measured. This is an approach that cannot monitor and measure with the use of some
tools and techniques.
People and the employees are the valuable and expensive resources in the organization and is
very important to value the efforts and hard work they have invested in the achievement of the
target. Various motivational theories are there which is helpful in boosting the morale of the
employees and also works as motivator for the success of the business. The content and the
process theory helps the to increase the overall satisfaction of the employee, also motivates the
employees to move towards higher needs for the personal growth of the employees. It is
observed that motivated employees tend to give better performance than the unmotivated
employees(Li, Y., et.al, 2020). Participation of the employees and rewarding for their excellent
performance can not only reflect the personal development of the employee and create a trust
that their efforts are valued by the company.
On the other hand, it is also observed that it is not that the motivated and satisfied employee
will result in the increase in the productivity because the job satisfaction is not only the main
factor and many a time the workers or the staff believes that they are paid as compared to others
for the same work.
Motivational strategies of the company are the techniques and procedures which are applied by
the various companies in their business for motivating and employee engagement in the
operations of the company. These strategies vary from industry to industry based on the work
environment(Ann, and Blum, 2020). These strategies help to recognize the efficient employees
of the organization and also for the future development of the employees and also for retaining
the talented employees in the company. It helps to build a positive organizational culture as all
the employees performs their responsibilities towards achieving the goals of the firm. The

training sessions helps in the personal development of the employees in the company as well as
in the future.
On the other hand there are various limitations of the motivational strategies which can
negatively effect the company's productivity and also the performance of the employees(Huertas-
Valdivia, et.al, 2018). It is important for the company to timely make various modifications and
changes according to the changes in the business environment and introduce new plans and
strategies for motivating the employees like adding more advanced features for increasing the
performance of the employees for the development of the employee as well as the organization.
