INTRODUCTION
Background
For the success of the company the most important thing is the management of good and
effective environment within the company. This is majorly because of the fact that if the
environment within the company is not good then the employees within the company will not be
satisfied in the company (Jiménez, Winkler and Dunkl, 2017). Thus, when the company maintain
good and cordial working environment within the company then the employees of the company
will be happy and satisfied. Thus, the maintenance of good and harmonious culture and working
environment is very essential for the success of the company. This has a major impact over the
performance of the employees because of the fact that when the environment is not good then the
employees will not be working in good manner. This is because of the fact that when the
working environment is good and understandable then the employees feel comfortable working
in such environment.
The present research is based on Morrison which is large chain of supermarket and retail
chain in UK. The company was founded in the year 1899 by William Morrison which is
headquartered in Bradford in England UK. This company deals in different food and drinks,
clothing, books, magazines and many other different product and services. The present research
is directed towards the studying of the fact that how the working environment of the country
affects the performance of employees and the business performance. For this purpose the aims
and objectives will be formulated and after the different sources will be analysed and evaluated.
In the end the collected data will be analysed and conclusion will be drawn from the analysed
data.

Rationale
The major reason underlying this fact is that the management of the performance of the
company is very necessary for the company (Rožman and et.al., 2019). This is because of the
fact that the environment affects the performance of employees and business to a great extent. If
this will not be managed in proper manner then the working of the company will not be that
good. Thus, this research will help the company as well as the researcher in knowing the fact that
how the environment can be maintained in peaceful manner so that employees can work in
effective manner. Also, another major reason for the selection of this topic is the personal
interest and academic interest of the researcher.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Concept of healthy working environment.
In the words of Smith (2017) the working environment is referred to as the ambiance or
the environment within the company where the employees are being working. This environment
needs to be very calm and good because the employees of the company have to work in it. Thus,
this has a major impact over the performance of the employees and the overall business
performance. This is because of the fact that if the working area will not be attractive and safe
then the employees will not feel working there. Thus, this will have a great impact over the
productivity of the employees and this in turn will have a great impact over overall performance
of the company.

But against of this Hassani and Ghasemi (2019) argues that is company is able to create
good and congenial environment within the company then the employees will be able to manage
the work in more proper and effective manner. The major reason behind maintaining of good and
cordial environment within the business is that this environment will have a clarity that which
works is to be performed by whom. Thus, this will help the employees in knowing in advance
that which work they have to perform. Thus, they will perform the work in good and effective
way resulting in accomplishment of the goals and objectives of business. Hence, with this

their fullest potential. This is because the strict environment will demotivate the employees and
they will not work effectively. Thus, this will have a negative impact over the performance of the
employees which in turn will impact the overall performance of the company.

having good and secure working environment then this will motivate the employees. This is
because the good environment will keep the employees happy and all their need will be fulfilled.
Thus, this will increase the working efficiency of the employees and will work up to their fullest
potential. Thus, this will indirectly increase the overall performance of the company and the
profitability of the company will also increase.
Challenges being faced by the company in management of the healthy working environment.
As per Singh and Kaur (2020) lack of an effective communication is the biggest
challenge at workplace whereas it directly affecting on the team efficiency and also impact on
the staff trust level towards organization. Although communication has increased the obstacles in
coordination between employees. Furthermore, many employee experienced that misfortune of
working along with colleagues. So as it directly impact on the overall business productivity as
well as profitability in global marketplace. The entire struggle with system that make it challenge
to complete business operation and function. As per Kumar (2020) it is also challenge for anyone

to creative in different time, it must be challenging that employee struggle to creative all of time.
Furthermore, it directly affecting on the healthy working environment or culture. Workplace
environment has rapidly changing at fast rate. So that business need to change with competitive
advantage. It is also considered as challenge when manager cannot develop an effective
coordination with staff members. In this way, it can impact on the overall profitability because
staff members not share their innovative idea for business expansion. therefore, it has more
chances to affects on the overall business culture or environment.
