Scope of research
The current research is of scope to all the companies which are similar to the Sainsbury as the
result of Sainsbury is applicable to all similar companies. Thus, this research will be helpful to
all the competitors of the Sainsbury. In addition to this the current research will also be helpful
for the other researchers who are dealing in the same research topic or topic similar to it.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT PLAN
Scope- the scope of the project is very wide and because of this the scope of the project is
very high. The project deals with the analysing of the fact that whether the use of policies
of company is helpful in increasing the performance of the company. (Wang, Ren and
Liu, 2017) The scope is wide as all the companies run on the basis of the policies made
only and if the policies are not made in proper manner then the employees will not work
in good way.
Deliverables- the deliverable of the project are referred to as the result or the outcome of
the whole project. This is essential for the scholar that the deliverable of the project is
good and if it is not then the project will not be successful.
Time- the time is the most essential aspect of the whole project as if the project will not
be completed on time then this will not be successful. Thus, for this the main essential
thing is that the project needs to be completed before the deadline. This is essential as if
the project will be accomplished before time then there will be time for the scholar to
ensure and recheck all the data and analyse whether the aim is attained or not.
Quality-this is also the most essential thing to be analysed as if the quality will not be
there in the research then the company will not be able to manage the result of the
research in good manner. Thus, for this the most important thing is the use of good
quality data and to make use of best research methods for the completion of the research.
Communication- this is also the most important thing as if the result of the project will
not be communicated in effective manner then the outcome will not be good. Thus, for
this the use of written and verbal communication is being used. This is due to the reason
that that this combination helps scholar to clearly communicate with others.

Risk- this is the most important aspect of the project to be analysed in advance and this is
majorly because of the reason that the project is initiated in the dynamic environment and
there are lot many changes. Also, in addition to this the future is also uncertain and
anything can happen in the future and for this it is essential for the scholar to make sure
that they analyse all the risk which they may encounter like financial, technological,
economical and many others (Heagney, 2016).
Resources- this is also the most important thing for the success of the whole project. This
is majorly because of the reason that that the resources are the material with which the
research is being conducted and the major resources for the research to be completed in
successful manner are financial resources, human resource, electronics, technology and
many other related resources.

PRIMARY AND SECONDARY RESEARCH
Secondary research (literature review)
In the views of Ylöstalo (2016) the company policies are the directives which are made
by the management and the regulating authority of the company for the employees working.
These policies affect and direct the working of the employees in the attainment of the common
objectives. Thus, the policies ensure that all the employees work on the same level and in the
same way of working. In addition to this Kirton, Robertson and AvdelidouFischer, (2016) the
company policies also help the company in managing equality and diversity as if the policies of
company are not differentiating then the employees will work in more effective and productive
manner.
As per the thinking of Salignac, Galea and Powell, (2018) states that there is a great
relation between both policies and performance of the company. This is majorly because of the
reason that if the policies of the company are not good and accurate then the performance of the
company will also be not good. This is due to the reason that the employees are liable to follow
the policies only and if it will not be good then this will have an impact over performance only.

Also, in against of this Utoft, (2020) argues that there are many different challenges
which affects the working and making of the policies. The major challenge being faced by the
companies is the biasness of the management. This is a challenge because of the fact that when
the person is biased then they will not make good and effective policies and this in turn will have
direct impact over performance of company.
Research methodology
Type of research- research type is the method or the way through which the person
carries on the research and attains the aim and objective of the research. This is essential
to select the type through which whole research will be initiated that is either qualitative
or quantitative (Kumar, R., 2019). For the completion of the current project based on
policies of company the scholar has made use of qualitative type of research. This has
been used by the researcher as this will assist the scholar in analysing the attributes and
values relating to the research topic and not numeric fact.
Approach of research- the approach is defined as the use of different assumption behind
the selection of the different type of methods of research. This is of two different kind
that is inductive and deductive. In case of the current study the scholar has made the use
of the inductive approach of research. This is basically because of the reason that the
inductive approach is based on framing the aim and objective and then taking the whole
study in the direction of that aim an objective only.
Philosophy of research- the philosophy is defined as the beliefs which underlies the fact
that why anything happened. The major philosophy of research is interpretivism and
positivism and both are necessary (Mohajan, H.K., 2018). This is majorly because
everything has something underneath the execution of any of the activity. For the
completion of present research the use of interpretivism is being made as this integrates
the interest of the human within the whole study.
Collection of data- this is the most essential stage in the whole project as if the data will
not be good then the research will not be good. This is majorly because of the reason that
whole research is based on data only and if data will not be reliable then the research will
not result in appropriate manner. Thus, for this the data need to be reliable and valid and
if this will not be there then the research will not be valid.
Document Page
Sampling- the sample is referred to as the selection of some of the participant from the
whole population and then test on them. The samples are chosen from the help of random
sampling method and the samples are 50 employees (Fletcher 2017). All the test and the
other related test are conducted over the selected samples only and then their result are
concluded.
Analysis of collected data- this is also necessary for the completion of the research as if
the data will not be analysed then the research will not be successful. This is due to the
reason that if the data is not analysed then the research is of no use. Thus, for this use of
thematic analysis is made as this will help the analyst in using the charts, diagrams and
tables for the analysis of data.
Reliability and validity- this is also very essential for the research to be successful as if
the data will not be reliable and valid then this will have a great impact over the
authenticity of the research. Thus, for this it is essential that the data is collected from the
reliable and trustworthy sources only.
