HRM is comprises strategic activities which comprises managing various individual
working in the company for achieving profits. The function of the business helps in gaining
competitive advantages by employing skilled personnel in the company for working efficiently
and earning profits. Sainsbury established as the second largest supermarket store selling various
food and non-food products to large number of consumers. This report provide details about the
HRM issues faced by the company. Also, evaluating various approaches to the current issue
faced by th company. Further, providing innovative solution for the issue for the issue faced by
the company. Lastly reflecting on the personal and employment issues faced by the organisation
currently.
MAIN BODY
Background
Sainsbury is recognised for dealing and supplying products as established as retailers for
selling products to all the consumers in operating dynamic market. The company has mainly
started and expanded its operations from retail to service to financial services by selling the
quality products to al the consumers for providing better satisfactions and serving better products
to consumers. The company is mainly selling various products to the consumers in the market
mainly retailing by selling electrical products, beauty products fresh fruits and vegetables and
toys with providing other financial services to the consumers (Alsawalhah, 2020). The issue
faced by the company is retaining employees for working in the company. Retaining competent
and potential employees for increasing sales aids in supporting company and achieving success.
This is the main challenge faced by the HR in the company as for retaining right talents for the
right job and retaining better opportunities for working and gaining profits.
This issues mainly arises as because of higher expectation of employees working in the
company, also expecting high job opportunities with unrealistic expectation for gaining better
salary. As retaining employees and other personnels In company is very important as it helps in
achieving productivity by working constantly and efficiently. Working with high retention rate
on the company helps in achieving more profits and productive employees which supports
company in achieving success (Arya and Rangnekar, 2022). There are various factors which
mainly impacts the retention of employees in the sainsbury as mainly the acknowledgement at
work providing extra benefits and expecting benefits to employee, setting mission and objective

in aligning the goals and clearly communicating for achieving the targets(Employee Retention –
Challenges, 2022).
Current approaches
Various approaches and academic concepts for the issue as of retaining employees for working
in the company are as follows:
Mentorship programs: mentorship programs given to employees by effectively
mentoring helps in grasping and diversifying career opportunities. This helps in better
engagement and retaining employees for working better in the company with providing career
opportunities.
Employee compensation: Compensating employees with providing salary and various
monetary and non monetary incentive helps in motivating and better engaging for achieving goal
and working effective by increasing earning and giving opportunity
Perks: Providing various perks and benefits to employees as by assuring health care
insurance, holiday day off, holiday packages , various discount offers and bonuses for
recognising extra efforts and establishing the employee benefits programs helps in retaining
employees and engaging results in better productivity for Working in the company.
Offering health and safety: offering health and safety benefits to the employees working
in company aids in supporting and promoting wellness of employees (Čizmić and Ahmić, 2021).
The healthier and happier employees results in working efficiently and providing better working
with safer conditions aids in retaining personnels for working with satisfaction workplace and
healthier environment.
Job security : With providing job security to employees working in company helps in
motivating better for working and creates a sense of security helps in enabling employees for
working hard and aids in retention.
Providing feedback constantly: this academic concept explains about the constantly

Hosna, 2021). With adapting this solution in the Sainsbury helps in providing growth and
development opportunities helps in encouraging employees for performing better and aids in
building competencies for preparing the better career positions to be grabbed in the future course
of action.
With adapting this solution for solving the retention issue helps in engaging better to the

career while working in the Sainsbury. Furthermore, it helps in lowering the stress of employees
as by providing job security to the employees and various development for acquiring new skills
and abilities for working and better grasping the new opportunity at the new post within
company helps in better engaging employees for growing the new opportunity. This growth
opportunities helps in developing sense of identifying by giving recognition for working better in
company . Moreover, aids in accessing and gaining new skills with using new equipments and
machines helps in better understanding working practices and aids in handling work life
balances. Thus, by providing growth opportunities helps in retaining employees by better
engagement in the company.
Whereas it also gives negative impact for balancing the work-life easily by some
employees. But this sources is ineffective for some employees as for providing growth
opportunities to employees working in the company does not results effective for growth to all
the employees. For this proving training and development to those for which this solution is
ineffective helps in retaining the personnels on the company .
Reflection
As an employee of the company, I have noticed this issue arises in the organization for
retaining employees as for working and serving for long term. This issue mainly arise because of
lack of opportunities available for growth and also less recognition of employees working and
giving extra efforts. With adapting the solution as of providing meaningful opportunity for
growing within business, as while working in Sainsbury has helped me in retaining and engaging
for working better with grasping new skills and abilities for working at other position and

potential employees for serving consumers by operating in the dynamic market.

From the above report it can be concluded that HRM is described as the process of
managing individual for performing various job in the company. The company is facing issue in
retaining employees for serving consumers discussing various approaches available for the
resolving the issue , taking innovative solution as of providing meaningful opportunities to
