The project specifications are concerned with the different types of activities which
requires various resources. This is the set of written document which helps in enhancing the
different activities that takes places in the research in order to attain research objectives and
goals.
Gantt Chart: The concept of Gantt chart was brought in by Henry Gantt in the year
1917. This is the graphical representation which is shown on horizontal bar graph. Under this,
the proper and clear representation of graph and activities are designed. This describes the time
against each activity of the research which helps in knowing the start and finish dates so that the
research can be completed on time.

CHAPTER2: LIETRATURE REVIEW
To analyse the concept of employee retention
According to Margaret Rouse 2019, the concept of employee retention is concerned with
maintaining and keeping the employees within the company in order to achieve the business
goals and minimise the turnover rate (employee retention, 2019). The demands and requirements
of employees are increasing and they easily switch the jobs, so for this purpose, the business
enterprise needs to keep them motivated with the company and develop certain relations with
them so that the employees can be attracted. Due to increasing competition, each organisation
requires to attract the fresh and innovative talent who can bring effectiveness and efficiency at
workplace.
It is important to retain the employees because, when a person is hired then the company
invest a lot of amount in providing them training and making them capable enough to work
effectively within the company. To maintain and cover this cost, the business organisation takes
various steps in order to achieve the business objectives and goals. Furthermore, employee
retention makes the employee happy and satisfied within the organisation and builds the overall
reputation and image of the company. Thus, this one of the most crucial function of human
resource department of the company and the primary motive here is to make them loyal towards
the organisation.
To study the different strategies through which employees can be retained in the Royal
Horse guards.
According to Ankur Tandon 2018, the business organisations are increasingly adopting
different strategies so that they can retain and attract the employees within the company
(Effective Employee Retention Strategies Every Company Must Follow, 2018). The business
enterprise puts their level best in order to develop certain techniques that will create positive
working atmosphere for the employees and they will remain connected and attracted towards the
company. The following are the certain strategies which are adopted by the Royal horse guards
hotel so that the organisation is able to maintain the workforce and these strategies are discussed
below:
Orientation programs: When the company hires the new people, then it organises the

in long term retention of employees within firm.

conditions. They require safe and secure working atmosphere and the organisations are
placing greater emphasis on developing the safety and security of their employees. For
this, the business organisations are adopting several safety measures which protects the
employees and is focussed towards taking severe actions against those which harm the
employees. Thereby, safe working atmosphere plays a greater role in building employees
retention.

To determine the importance of employee retention policies in Royal horse guards
According to Sabrina Son 2019, there are many organisations which do not treat their
employees well and thinks that the employees are their slave who can be easily replaced (THE
IMPORTANCE OF EMPLOYEE RETENTION, 2019). It will not only be beneficial for the
growth of the employees, but this is very important for the success and increasing productivity of
the company as well. It has become very difficult to get the right kind of employee for
performing the required task in order to fulfil the business goals and objectives. When different
policies and strategies will be adopted by the organisation for retaining the employees, then the
company will be able to achieve the aims in a proper and effective manner. The cost incurred for
rendering training to the employee is very high and for maintaining the cost effectiveness, the
adoption of different retention policies becomes important. The different types of policies which
can be adopted by the organisation is the employment legislations. In employment legislation
there will be several acts that will insure the employee that their rights and interest are protected
and secured. The various types of act which will help in employee retention involves The
Equality act, minimum working hours act, discrimination act, data protection act, act against
illegal and unfair practices like harassments and bullying at work place, etc. All such act will
provide the employee a good working atmosphere and improves the retention rate of the
company.
CHAPTER3: RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
It is defined as systematic method of conducting research, to execute survey and research
qualitative and quantitative methods are used. Quantitative method refers to numeric and
statistical analysis of data it measure the occurrence of particular incidence and opinion of
selected sample. Whereas qualitative research's main objective is to collect detailed information
of observations including events and circumstances. There are some methods used in research as
primary and secondary source. Where primary source of collecting data define gathering of
information through surveys, experiments, observation, questionnaire personal interviews etc.

secondary data is collected through websites, magazines, newspaper, journal article internal
records etc.
Research onion describe detailed stage of research process, it provides effective stages
through which progress can be measured such as:
Research Philosophy: It define the first step of research process where set of beliefs and
assumptions are concerned for develop knowledge to conduct a research. Analysis of data and
getting knowledge are core factors of this philosophy. There are various type of research
philosophies such as positivism, it explains that reality is stable and cannot be exchanged and it
follows an independent approach where the researchers do not get influenced by human values
and beliefs. Whereas realism philosophy believes in scientific path rather than own perceived
information.
Research approach: It define research methodology which is concerned with testing
facts and findings of research, There are two type of approaches deductive and inductive.
Deductive research is a process of reaching to a logical conclusion by analysing one or more
statements. Whereas inductive approach is the formulation of hypothesis and finding out results.
It is a bottom up approach where researchers conclude results by communicating to variables.
Research strategy: It define planning of researchers to carry out work, strategies helps to
analyse objectives with the help of various methods. such as surveys, are used to produce
quantitative data which are empirically examined from population and it analyse people
behaviour through statistical surveys or questionnaires. however action research is a practical
approach where data is analysed with the help of practical work to advance understanding.
Time horizons: It define time limit under which research can be accomplished, the most
important tool to meet deadline of assignments and describe use of Gantt chart method to
describe time requirement for each activity which helps in formulate aims and objectives
relevant to different topics for analyse information.
Research choice: It is an important step of analysing human behaviour and society with
the help of qualitative and quantitative methods. Qualitative research define subjective approach
where data is collected with purpose of finding out opinions of participants such as beauty of
flower can be explained in terms of opinion not in numeric value. Quantitative research is a
measurement of multiple values by applying various statistical tools, main purpose of this
method is to collect data which is based on numbers.

Research Budget: Finance is very important to conduct research activities. A proper
budget should be decided for further research activities which are carried out of gathering
important information.
Research limitation: Every study and research have some certain limitations which
restrict the research such as time limit, limited data, biases and reliable data. Time limit is an
important issue it is very tough to examine every single person because that action will be time
consuming. Geographical constraints also limits the study due to large area so the results of study
cannot be generalised.
Sampling: It define population for measurement here group of people are selected for
findings, It determine accuracy of results. Probability and non-probability sampling are two parts
where probability technique is used to make sure the equal chance of getting selected through
population. Non-probability sampling define less chances of getting selected because outcomes
chosen might be biased and make difficult for everyone to be the part of sample equally. This
can also be known as non-random sampling.
Source of data: There are two type of data collection method such as primary and
secondary. Primary method is defined as fresh collection of data through survey, person,
telephone, mail questionnaire and field experiments whereas secondary data help in collection of
data through news paper, magazine, university research, advertising media and library.
CHAPTER4: DATA ANALYSES, FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION
Data analyses: The concept and method of data analyses is the procedure which helps in
defining and exploring the data. This helps the researcher in framing proper conclusions and
interpretations. The results are measured and evaluated and on the basis of it. Therefore, this
research will use the questionnaire method for analysing the data.
