Dear colleagues,
Fire safety is one of our primary occupational health policies that seek to ensure that each
one of us is safe and aware of what to do incase this tragedy strikes. Find below, procedures that
all of us need to follow to ensure that we are safe any fire incident/accident. (Herrington, 2012)
(a) If you see fire, pull the alarm and call fire department at extension 9-911.
(b) If the fire is small attempt to extinguish it using the fire extinguisher by unpinning the
safety pin and pointing the nozzle at the base of the fire while clutching on the
operating levers.
(c) The rest of the people should remain calm and orderly and use the nearest exit point
to head to the predetermined gathering places as indicated by the signage within the
company compound and wait for further instructions from the floor monitors.
(d) If the fire is big in your estimation, then remain clam and orderly and use nearest exit
point to head to the predetermined gathering places as indicated by the signage within
the company compound and wait for further instructions from the floor monitors.
(e) All the visitors and persons with disabilities should be assisted by the nearest persons
to them to leave the building according to procedure (c) above. (Sekizawa, 2010)
