Abstract
The purpose of this research is to find out the effects as well as influences of job satisfaction and
employee commitment in the ASDA Superstore Ltd. (Southgate) branch. In this research paper,
the factor that encourages the job satisfaction amongst the employees of ASDA has been
determined. Along with that, the analysis of whether the motivation is a crucial factor that affects
the commitment of the employees has been performed. A literature review has been conducted to
find out the factors that affect the job satisfaction among the employees. For measuring job
satisfaction of the employees the conceptual framework has been used. For this research study,
probability sampling technique has been selected. Random selection of participants has been
made during the data collection process, as the samples have been selected based on their
availability and that of the author’s. From the research, it has been found that majority of the
employees of ASDA are comfortable and satisfied with their job. 60 percent of the employees
are found to be satisfied with their communication with the managers of the mentioned
organization. However, when it comes to job responsibilities, 55 percent reported that they do
not found that the amount of job responsibilities that they have on themselves is not reasonable.
Overview of chapter 1
In chapter 2, a literature review as a secondary source of data has been conducted to provide a
clear insight into employee commitment as well as employee satisfaction in the context of
contemporary business organizations. In this section, the definitions, as well as factors affecting
the above mentioned attributes, has been discussed. In order to assess the degree of satisfaction
and motivation of the employees, a conceptual framework incorporating job characteristic model
and job satisfaction model has been used. In the third chapter, the research methodology,

research design, research approach, data collection method, data analysis and sampling
technique, Reliability and Validity of Research and ethical consideration while conducting the
research has been stated. In order to shed light on this topic, several methodological tools have
been used and collected data has been analyzed. The positivism research philosophy has been
used for accomplishing the research study. The research design and the research approach that
has been used to conduct the research are the descriptive research design and the deductive
research approach. For collecting data, 20 employees of the ASDA organization has been
interviewed. In order to analyze the collected data mixed analyses technique that involves both
qualitative as well a quantitative analysis of data has been performed. The sampling technique
used by the organization includes probability sampling technique. The chapter 4 of this research
paper includes results, analysis, discussions and findings of the research. After data analysis, it
has been found that that majority of the employees associated with the mentioned organizations
are satisfied with their job role in the organization. Chapter 5 consists of conclusion and
recommendation. In this portion, a brief summary along with the key finding of the research
paper has been provided. Moreover, the conclusions which have been drawn from the research
are also provided in this section. In the recommendation section, recommendations to enhance
the employee satisfaction as well an employee motivation of the mentioned organization have
been discussed. Along with that, this portion includes recommendations for the organization to
eradicate the issues that have been found during the data analysis process.
