Define complex problems in the workplace including its scope and impact
Employee dissatisfaction is one of the biggest issues which is faced by many
organisations. It consists of those factors which let the employees feel bad and dissatisfied for
their job role and workplace. There are various employee dissatisfaction factors which impacts a
company and its productivity and profitability (Haendler and Frysak, 2018). The expectation of
employees is increasing day by day and companies are not developing their employee benefit
schemes to fulfil the requirements of their employees. In context of Morrison, their employees
are mainly dissatisfied due to their payment. They are paid less as compared to other companies.
Second factor for employee dissatisfaction for Morrison company is their work burden, most of
the employees feel that they are given a lot of work to accomplish within a given period of time
which creates employees’ dissatisfaction for the company. This issues of employee’s
dissatisfaction due to impropriate payment structure and work burden is required to manage

brand reputation, decline in organisational productivity and profitability, bad relationship
between managers and employees and many others.
Information on the identified problem
Employee dissatisfaction is one of the most hazardous issues for companies where they
are unable to make their employees happy related to various factors (Özgenel, 2018). There is
various harmful impact of this problem on company’s performance. Employees are demotivated
and did not want to get retained by the employer and when Morrison become unsuccessful in
retaining their employees then their brand image will get ruined and no new talent will show
interest to work with them. This will directly impact upon their productivity and profitability. It
is essential for the management team of Morrison to analyse the problem appropriately and
analyse the factors for the identified problem to help board of directors to make appropriate
decision for organisational benefit. The management team analyse two main factors for
employee dissatisfaction within their organisation, first is impropriate payment structure of
employees and second is high work burden. Few of the employees within the Morrison believe
that they are paid less as per their job role and job duties and few others believe that their
supervisors and seniors ask them for additional working hours without paying them extra.
Range of alternative solutions to the problem
It is essential for the organisation to analyse the range of solutions to a given problem so that
they have various options to choose best option (Gregório and et. al., 2020). Few of the
alternatives for given issue is mentioned below-

above than their competitor’s offerings.

To hire more employees so that the work will be divided appropriately and existing will
not get work burden.
In case of extra working hours of employees, the company is required to pay them good
number of wages as well as other benefits so that they will feel motivated and feel that
they are important part of the organisation.

management team must consider their employees suggestions in the meeting to mitigate
their issues.
Decision-making technique to evaluate a range of solutions to identify the most appropriate
option
There are four kinds of decision- making techniques which are mentioned below-
Command- Here, one person will take the decision (Rahman, 2019). This type of
decision making is taken by one person who is having top most authority in decision
making process. This may demotivate employees because here, the individual who take
decision will not include the suggestions from other employees.
Consult- Here, the individual is given the power to make a decision first consult widely
before making a decision.
Vote- Here, company will vote that which alternative of solution will help them to
mitigate their issues. It includes voting system from both sides, employees as well as
management team. In the end the common decision is made which provide the benefit for
both employees as well as for organisation.
Consensus- This is the method of decision making where a individual is selected by the
company with the agreement of all organisational member and then he will take decision
for organisational growth (Glazer Jr, 2021).
It is recommended to the Morrison that they can choose voting system for making
decision on given problem because it has few benefits like it will satisfy employees to choose
that solution which is in majority. Hence, majority of employees will get satisfied with this
method. Secondly, the employees will get motivated that their suggestions are taken by the
company in decision making process. While voting, the employees of the chosen organisation
will choose first option of alternatives of solution which is to increase their payment structure
and offer them more than their competitors. This decision will help the company to retain their
employees for longer period of time and it will also help to attract new talents within the
industry.
Develop a plan for implementing the solution
Mission- To develop effective employee satisfaction strategy for the company to gain the trust
and loyalty of employees.
Vision- To enhance the brand image of the company by satisfying their employees.

satisfaction.

much they pay to their employees.
Then they are required to compare their payment structure with their competitors.

competitors.
Responsibilities-
The main responsibilities for choosing this solution is of HR manager, finance
department and divisional managers of the company.

There are various benefits for the company to increase the salary of their employees to gain their
satisfaction few of the benefits are mentioned below-

company (Mohaghegh and Furlan, 2020). Stakeholders are the main decision maker for
Morrison. The management is required to present this solution implementation plan to
stakeholders and highlight the benefits for implementing the chosen solution. It is essential for
the Morrison to convey plan to their stakeholders and for communicating the plan they need to
conduct meetings where they must share their reports of business plan to their main stakeholders
and make them understand the plan to mitigate their main problem of employee dissatisfaction.
There are few stages to communicate the plan to company's stakeholders and these steps are
mentioned below-
Identifying the project's stakeholder- It is essential for the company to identify the
stakeholders who are interested in the issue of the company and who show efforts and
interest to mitigate the company's problem. The invitation of the meeting should be given
only those stakeholders who can take active participation in reducing the company's
problem.
Decide communication method- It is essential for the individual who is conveying plan
to analyse the method like presentation, oral or any other to convey the plan (Kurniawan,
Suhandi and Kaniawati, 2019). In context of Morrison, their most of the plans are
communicated with Presentation techniques. Hence, this plan can also share with
presentation method.
Highlight the main points- The presentor is required to highlight the important points
like what is the main issue, reason for creation of main problem and what impacts this
problem is impacting upon their organisational productivity. Mitigation strategies is one
of the most essential part to discuss about the plan of Morrison to their stakeholders.
Convey message in easy and understandable manner- It is essential to convey the
message in easy way so that the stakeholders will understand it and make decisions on
the stop without wasting time. The message should be conveyed in such a way which will

Appropriate monitoring and review techniques to ensure successful implementation of the
solution
The organisation is required to conduct survey on regular basis to identify whether their
employees are satisfied or not after implementation of their new plan related to increase in
payrolls of the employees (Ndawo, 2021).. The company is also required to make sure that their
supervisors will analyse the performance of their employees after implementation of plan to
analyse whether they are working well or not. Taking employees feedback is also one of the best
monitoring technique for Morrison to analyse the performance of their plan. They must ask their
employees that whether they are satisfied or not with their new payrolls.
Conclusion
From the above information it is concluded that analysing business problem is essential
for companies so that they will make effective alternatives of solutions. This will further help
them to choose best option out of various alternatives. Problem solving and decision- making
skill is one of the most important skills for increasing organisational productivity and
profitability. It is also essential for the company to analyse the pros and cons of each alternative
of solution and choose that solution only which are having more pros than cons. Taking the
suggestion of employees in decision making process will make them satisfied. It is also
concluded that employee dissatisfaction is the situation where employees of a company are not
happy and satisfied with their jobs and working environment.
