AI Summary
This research project examines employee job satisfaction within the growing industry, with a focus on Asda. It explores research objectives, questions, and the significance of job satisfaction in organizational performance. The project includes a review of literature, research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative), and a detailed plan with timelines. The report analyzes factors influencing job satisfaction, such as working conditions, opportunities for advancement, and financial rewards. The research utilizes primary and secondary data collection methods, including questionnaires and interviews, to identify issues and propose strategies for Asda to improve employee satisfaction, retention, and overall performance. The report concludes with recommendations for Asda to address these issues and maintain competitiveness.

RESEARCH PROJECT
Task 1
AC 1.1 Formulate and record possible research project outline specifications
Research objectives and aims
The purpose of the report is to conduct research on the job satisfaction of the employees in
growing industry which will allow an organization to remain competitive. Besides that, the
primary aim is to provide recommendations to shareholders of the selected case study
organisation , Asda, as well as senior management of a particular organization to create
strategies to beat their rivals (An assessment of the Small Business Innovation Research
program, 2004).
Research Questions
What are the issues of employee’s job satisfaction on organizational performance?
What strategies needs to be followed to solve these issues?
What are the impacts of employee retention and employee turnover?
Produce appropriate recommendation to Asda.
Introduction
The organization considered here is Asda. In international business, most of the organizations are
facing serious challenges during the workflow. Organizations such as Asda is facing issues like
employee retention problems as well as their job satisfaction. The research is about dealing with
these problems and to satisfy the employees so that Asda can continue to forward their
organizational aims and objectives. There are various issues like job security, communication
problems, ethical and cultural problems between the employees, lack of teamwork, bad
relationship with co-workers and so on the impact the organization adversely (Kelley and

AC 1.2 Identify the factors that contribute to the process of research project selection
The resource topic is selected as a contemporary issues and these issues are mostly seen in
businesses. In today’s workplace, the issues regarding job satisfaction of employees is important.
Factors which are concerned about the research project are research process, hypothesis and
research issues. Moreover, a research process cannot happen without an issue which is
considered as a heart of the research technique (2011 employee job satisfaction and engagement,
2016). The organization can solve the issue by variables, and these variables must be
fundamental and have the ability to be perceived easily, and every research problem must have a
hypothesis. The theory is an uncertain declaration of the consequence of research which centres
the company between no less than two variables holding up to be checked. The method allows

research problem, thought and dared to take after when ask about the issue is being definite
(Tampubolon, 2016). The variable ID will be discussed second through the three common
variables and four visible estimation scales. Variables are quantifiable components that can
expect more than one regard. The three sorts of variables are portrayed: external, independent as
well as dependent variables. The substitute hypothesis and the theory of the expert are the most
important variables while doing or exploring research.

Job satisfaction or employee satisfaction has been represented in an extensive variety of ways.
Some trust it is essentially how content an individual is with his or her occupation, by the day's
end, paying little mind to whether they like the business or individual points of view or parts of
vocations, for instance, nature of work or supervision. Few things frustrate workers more than
not perceiving what they should do, or being considered responsible for endeavors they weren't
told were theirs. The organization must make a clear expected arrangement of duties regarding
every illustrative and overview it with workers when they start work. In case you will do this for
current laborers, meet with them to get their data. Besides, employees get a kick out of the
opportunity to know they are esteemed and that their occupations are secure. Have managers
make physically composed notes to workers who perform well. Hold a team fitness contest or
worker outing to collect family relationship. Exactly when laborers are progressed, send a press
to release to their close-by day by day paper. Make a worker newspaper that tells workers how
the business firm is getting along and spotlights laborers.
AC 1.4 Produce a research project specification
The specifications of this particular research project are research objectives, research rationale,
and hypothesis statement, the scope of the research, literature review, research methodology,
research approaches and ethical consideration of the research. Research objective has been
described above. Research rationale is used for carrying out this research project which lies in
the well-documented findings in the literature (Lloyd Thomas, 2005). Moreover, the hypothesis
is a statement that proposes a likely explanation for a trend or an event. According to the scope
of the research, the researcher evaluates the findings of the study and recommend Asda to remain
competitive and to make improvements on their services salary system. As a result, the company
can encourage their employees to work hard and gain competitive advantage. The literature

literature review also states about adverse impacts of employee turnover. Moreover, research

financial rewards as well as the relationship with the supervisors of companies like Asda.
According to HAN (2008), the workers are more satisfied with their present job if they see an
available path to move up the ranks in the organization. Moreover, some research says that
employees are dissatisfied with their workload and inflexible timings. The employees have to
deal with a workload that is far too heavy and deadlines that are impossible to reach.
Consequently, it can cause job satisfaction to erode for even most of the dedicated employees
who are willing to work hard. Based on the second question, the organization has two ways by
which they can make strategies. Initially, Asda can train their employees in such a way so that
they can complete the particular project in appropriate deadlines. Secondly, the company should
increase their pay rate along with the addition of incentives and bonuses. It will make an
employee happy, and they will be willing to work.
Sample Interview Question
1. How many years have you been working with ASDA?
a. 0-4 years
b. 4-6 years
c. 6-9 years
d. More than 9 years
2. How is the environment of the workplace?

d. Autonomy

a. Strongly Disagree
b. Agree
c. Neutral
d. Disagree
Gruneberg (2014) stated that low job satisfaction of the employees of organizations leads to
reduced overall morale, lack of productivity, an increase of high employee turnover rates and so
on. Low job satisfaction also creates high turnover rates with employees. Many industries from
food to clothing suffer from high turnover rates and the inability to retain qualified and skilled
workers. Also, it is up to small business managers and owners to find a method to increase job
satisfaction. A little job satisfaction can also lead to negative attitudes of employees which can
spread throughout the workplace and thereby be influencing others to resign jobs
(Puangyoykeaw and Nishide, 2015). Communication is also an issue which leads to conflict
among many employees and thus results in employee turnover. Therefore, the organization must
train their employees regarding how to maintain a relationship or how to communicate properly
with co-workers without the involvement of personal matters. Job satisfaction is impacted by the
view of an employee about the fairness of the organization wage scale and the current
compensation he or she may be receiving (Sell and Cleal, 2011).

AC 2.2 Undertake the proposed research by the agreed specification and procedures
The researcher needs to keep in mind about the interview structure while taking interviews from
the members of Asda. First of all, a sample of the interview, its design and strategy need to be
followed by an interviewer.
Interview Sample: The interview were conducted on a sample of six undergraduate students
from a target population. The others are employees and members of Asda. It has been found that
the students who were on internship program reported about job satisfaction (Sample, 2008).
During internships, they are paid with reasonable amounts. But the members of Asda said that
sometimes they have to work with inflexible time. During rush hours, it becomes a difficult
situation for them to handle a large population of customers.
Interview Strategy: The interview procedure is the preparation of necessary actions which
needs to be done in an interview session. An essential list was made which consists of open-
ended questions so that the researcher can follow the interpretivism approach. The strategy was
to record the interview on a tape recorder, and it has been achieved successfully.
Interview Design and Validity: The researcher has personally loomed to talk about directing
the possibility of the interview. Moreover, the participants asked questions about the time
arrangements and process which were convenient to both the participants and the researcher
(Paulo, Albuquerque and Bull, 2016). The validity of the research was tested by conducting two
interviews with the general employees of Asda before the primary interviews.
