organisation. Thus, their actions and words could largely impact the reputation of the
organisation. Employees should be careful about what they post on social media, as the same
can be misconstrued to be the views of the employers, if it is a controversial topic and bring
bad name upon them (Workplacefairness.org, 2020). Social media has the power of spreading
rumours very fast. Thus, any irresponsible post, even though done after office hours could put
the employers in a bad light in the public eye. Further, if the employees post any confidential
information about the organisation on the social media, the same can jeopardize the
achievement and success of the employers (Burton, D. (2010). Thus, the employers should be
careful and formulate policies which will mandate employees to be cautious of the things
they post on social media.
