Literature review
Introduction
Employee performance is one of the important factors for successful business or for an
organization. Organization performance is totally dependent on the performance of their
employees. The purpose of the current literature review is to show the impact of the employee
training and professional development on organisational performance (Mohammadyari & Singh,
2015).
The impact of employee training and professional development on organisational
performance
Employee training and professional development is directly proportional to organisational
performance, more the organisation train and develop the skill amongst their employee, more the
organisation becomes successful. There are various layers of training and development process
an organization can follow to increase the performance of their employees (Dhar, 2015).
Orientation training which was given to an employee immediately when he/she joins an
organisation. This training helps the employee to become familiar with the job goals, culture,
structure and work standards as well (Saks, 2015). Now comes a job instruction training, if the
job goal is not clearly defined then it can't be achievable. On the job training is the most effective
training process. Employees learn only 10% from the formal training, other 90% comes from
working with the other co-workers and employee in the job field. In field or On the job training
are more efficient than formal training, it will train the employees way faster and makes them
more efficient (Falola, Osibanjo & Ojo, 2014).
Conclusion
In conclusion, we can say that effective training of the employees can give both immediate and
long terms returns to an organisation. The ultimate goal of training and development program is
to add values to the human resources and which will also affect the organisation growth. So it is
recommended to train the employees on regular basis so the employees become more efficient.
