Research type: Research is a logical as well as systematic search for useful information relevant
to research study. Data can be collected in several forms but in research study there are mainly 2
forms in which data are being gathered such as numbers form and non-numerical form. Selection
of research type is also dependent on the nature of research topic. As per the form of data
collection, research type is categorized into 2 parts such as: qualitative and quantitative. In
qualitative research type, data are being gathered in non-numerical form or in words form
(Korstjens and Moser, 2017). Whereas, in quantitative research type, data are being collected in
the form of numbers. For this research study, researcher will gather data in the form of non-
numerical. Researcher believes that decision can be made better when he knows perceptions and
thinking of people as what they think and it can be known with qualitative research type.
Researcher can know feelings of people by gathering data in words.
Research approach: Research approach involves philosophical assumptions or distinct methods
of collecting data. It is all about development and generation of theory for collecting data. Main
types of approaches in research methodology are: inductive and deductive. In inductive research
approach, researcher does not develop an existing theory and rather this they focus on collecting
data by developing new theory, he collects appropriate data that can help him out in
accomplishing goals of taking decisions. Whereas, in the types of deductive research approach,
scholar develops an existing theory of hypothesis and on the basis of assumptions or hypothesis,
data are being gathered. Selection of research approach is easy because it is associated or linked
with research type. For qualitative research, researcher needs to use inductive approach and for
quantitative research type, they have to use deductive research approach. For this study of talent
management or knowing roles of leaders in employees’ well-being, inductive research approach
will be used because of its suitability with qualitative research.

Some common and appropriate sources of secondary data collection are: literature review,
articles, books and journals, online library and others. For this study, researcher will gather both
primary and secondary data in order to make study successful. For primary data: questionnaire
