Employment laws and the management practice affect every individual and group as the
national economy. Presently, coronavirus has affected the small and medium business across the
nation as they have to face a maximum of the difficulty. The issue of coronavirus made the
government bring some of the new laws that help the practices of companies about their
employees. Paid sick leave law for employees in SMEs is selected topic because this issue is
considered as one of the crucial issues which are grabbing the attention of maximum people. The
people are getting affected and shut down at the places due to the public issue is restricting them
to go office due to which the company should not cut the wages is motive due to which this topic
is vital. March 18, 2020, there was announced by trump for Families First Coronavirus Response
Act (HR 6201) (Bentley, 2020). This law address paid sick leave and paid family medical leave
at the time of public health emergency. It includes providing up to 14 days of paid sick leave and
up to 12 weeks of family medical leave to the employees who are eligible and dealing with
coronavirus. This issue has affected the world work because the disease is spreading and due to
which the people can’t work in companies and they have to stay at home (Stettinius & LLP,
2020). The companies are requested to provide them with sick leave because they are affected
due to public emergency. In this, the HR of the company performs a vital role as they should
abide by the regulations of the government and provide the proper facilities and leaves to the
employees who are affected. In this bill, there are certain terms and conditions which will bring
the changes in the way HR to manage the practices at the workplace.
