AI Summary
This essay explores the present and future problems associated with energy consumption, focusing specifically on cooling technologies. It begins by highlighting the invention of modern air conditioning by Willis Carrier and its subsequent impact on American society, noting the widespread adoption of AC and its role in economic development. The essay discusses HVAC systems as major energy consumers in residential and commercial buildings, examining the balance between energy efficiency and cost. It also considers alternative cooling methods like fans and evaporative coolers, emphasizing the health and economic concerns linked to AC usage. The essay further investigates ways to decrease energy consumption in buildings and the potential role of renewable energy sources, particularly coal, in shaping future energy landscapes. Ultimately, the essay advocates for greater energy efficiency and the adoption of renewable energy sources to mitigate environmental impact and reduce utility costs, suggesting a shift from electric furnaces to heat pumps and exploring the use of air-source heat pumps for domestic water heating.

Article 12
1. Willis Carrier founded AC. An American engineer who develops the idea of
modern AC with the idea of water evaporation to other liquid that helps to cool the
space. The first called system that uses water to cool the space internally and one
can decrease the temperature by hanging the door mats. This helps to add
refreshing air. Carrier develops the invention in the effective volume with the
refrigeration machine. His creation helped people to stay in a cool and comfort zone
with successful approaches.
2. The impact of AC technology was very beautiful. It helped people to enjoy in the
country wherever they go. AC cools with the air and it provides energy where we live
and spend our time. People were able to relax and were very peaceful in the country.
80% of Americans uses ACs and it is based on energy related administration. It has
increased from luxury to importance and involved in different types to the American’s
life. It has strong benefits and comfort cooling techniques that deals with the strong
economic growth and development. The US people allow millions of people to work
and develop the business in hot and steamy surroundings.
3. HVAC heats ventilate and focus on air conditioning. It is the high load in
residential as well as commercial buildings.
For the past 50 years, the utility bill for the U.S homes was very high. The owners in
the nation look for increase in the prosperity of the economy at a national front and
also for their own houses. With the inexpensive energy, they have less skills of the
energy consumed. The strong movement in the environment and high prices of
energy increases the standards of the appliances. These standards deal with the
product variety and implementation.
4. AC has been very effective and strong choice as it is also expensive. The cost for
payback time is about 150 USD and if one is using AC for less than 3-4 hours, the
normal AC will be useful. Inverter AC is effective for long term and for fixed ACs,
effectiveness does not remain significant while working at part load and it decrease
the output. Thus, it focuses on variable speed that drives the compressor. It is
effective at load operation and it is common.

5. The alternatives of AC systems are to use the fans (ceiling fans, attic fans, bed
fans and window fans). The other techniques to are to wear less clothing, to apply
the cold clothing, to chill the pillow and focus on evaporative coolers. (Drayton, 2018)
6. The purpose of the research for the new ways of cooling techniques because AC
is an expensive product which has lot of disadvantages and it is vital to learn the
negative side of AC to enjoy it better. It is used in houses, offices and different
places. It also cause health challenges and creates negative impacts on the
respiratory system. While spending too much on AC room, the skin also gets dry and
it is also bad for eyes. Thus, user ends up with paying high utility bills. (Aguado &
Burt, 2013)
7. The greater energy efficiency of the appliances as well as the tools will be useful
for houses and buildings that increase with the past decades. (Riley, 2016)
8. It is vital to focus on the benefits and amount while buying the heat pump. With
this, it could decrease the amount of fuel and there will no need to purchase heating
as well as cooling systems. (Geertz, 2013)
Article 13
1. Yes, there is high level of effectiveness that can be managed to decrease the level
of energy consumption in houses as well as commercial buildings.
2. By 2030, the role of coal will be the most powerful source of energy. It will support
global generation.

Essay
Introduction
The major sources of renewable energy are Power, Coal and Heat.
Discussion
As per the research, the overall consumption of U.S. energy offers electric powers
with respect to the fossil fuels matters and renewable sources of energy.
It is vital to deal with the savings and important to focus on the summer cooling as
well as winter cooling. While reducing the costs of heating, there could have the
conversion from electric furnace to an electric source of heat pump. The savings
might vary based on the parameters such as local surroundings, recent heating
systems and fuel as well as electric costs. The modern designs of air – sources will
help to deal with domestic water heating. It will offer high effectiveness. It will help to
reduce the utility bills too. This will also help to maintain the good health.
The major use of renewable energy will lose in electricity generation, distribution and
transmission of fuels like natural gas that increases quickly than provided use of
energy. (Riley, 2016)
Conclusion
To conclude, it could decrease the amount of fuel and there will no need to purchase
heating as well as cooling systems.
