Homework Assignment
AI Summary
This assignment examines the management of energy, focusing on the debate between reliance on renewable energy and the continued use of fossil fuels. The student argues in favor of renewable energy as a viable long-term strategy, emphasizing its role in providing clean energy, particularly in developing countries, and its importance in reducing carbon dioxide emissions. The assignment highlights the increasing global energy consumption and investment in renewable resources, driven by factors such as environmental awareness, technological advancements, and government policies. It also references several articles to support the position, including studies on the Irish energy system and barriers to renewable energy penetration, concluding that renewable energy offers a valuable and sustainable approach to environmental protection. The assignment highlights the significance of transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable sources and the need for investment in renewable energy.

2MANAGEMENT OF ENERGY
Do you believe that reliance on renewable energy is a viable long-term strategy, or
whether, given the continued abundance and profitability of fossil fuels, there are no
real incentives to switch to cleaner forms of energy?
The renewable energy plays a pivotal role in the way of offering the vast popularity of
the developing country with energy with sustainability, so that they can access clean energy.
Renewable energy is one of the greatest sources of the lives of majority of people, mostly in
rural areas. The need of using renewable energy in the form of solar and wind energy is
rapidly increasing as it provides electricity without emission of carbon-di-oxide (Connolly et
al. 2011). In the contemporary times, the energy sector is playing a pivotal role in the way of
social, and political implications. With the rapid development of population and gross
domestic product, the rate of energy consumption across the globe is drastically increasing.
The rate of investment towards the renewable energy is increasing in a rapid manner with the
past few years, intensity of globalisation is acting as the driving force behind increasing the
need of using renewable energy. It is worthy to note in this context that over the past few
years, the effect of climate can be seen significantly, which is increasing the price of fossil
fuel (Painuly 2001). The increasing rate of fossil fuel is creating extreme uncertainty.
On the other hand, the rate of renewable resource is rapidly increasing. Additionally,
in the contemporary times, renewable energy-system (RES) has also been implemented for
the sake of transforming fossil fuel into renewable energy. The Irish energy system is defined
as the excellent laboratory in order to experiment with new technology for the sake of
experimenting with wide range of renewable energy resources. Over the past few years, the
focus towards energy sector gas been shifted towards the renewable energy. It os true that the
rate of fossil fuel is extremely high. Still, it is expected that it will last not more than one day
in future. There lies the significance of using renewable energy (Palin 2015). The government
is putting intense stress on making investment on renewable energy.

3MANAGEMENT OF ENERGY
The factors like Environmental awareness, technological developments, and
government policies are playing a pivotal role in the way of increasing the rate of renewable
energy. Due to increased environmental awareness, tremendous technological development is
being made in the field of renewable energy. The rate of emission related to renewable
energy is relatively low which the key of lowering environmental sustainability is. In contrast
to the burning fossil fuel, the renewable energy is much better for the environment and help
in protecting the same (Schwartz 2011). In addition, renewable energy also provides cleaner
air and water. Therefore, it can be said that renewable energy is a one of the most valuable
and long term strategy for protecting the environment.
Support your position with empirical evidence:
The article that have been used in order to answer the question have helped in gaining
effective understanding about renewable energy resources. These articles were used in order
to show the significance of implementing renewable energy-system in order to gather 100%
renewable energy and thereby lower the rate of emission. Those articles have also helped in
understanding the framework that is highly required in terms of facilitating the decision on
investing renewable energy resources.
